A notre arrivée à budget car rental, nous avons été accueillis par un employé hautain et désagréable, qui n’a fait aucun effort dans la communication, on se demande pourquoi il continue à travailler auprès de touristes s’il n’apprécie pas cette démarche. Nous avons du prendre une assurance supplémentaire car nous n’avions pas de carte de crédit différé alors que cela n’était pas indiqué clairement lors de la reservation. Au retour, la jeune femme qui nous a accueilli et a ouvert le bureau était dans un état d’énervement palpable, elle s’est montrée extrêmement désagréable. À fuir absolument, sinon l’Irlande c’est merveilleux, les Irlandais sont sympa sauf chez Budget.

I would not rent from budget.

We received a rental car that had a crack in the windshield that could not be noticed from the outside and could only be noticed once the windshield wipers started, which they did about 30 minutes into our trip. At the counter they had told us to simply take pictures of any damage and it would be easy to rectify this. We called budget and they instructed us to return the car to Cork Airport where they could get us another. At cork, they commented that dublin had dumped their problems on them and were not joking and treated us as such. They kept insisting on showing us the initial damage report despite us telling them that we already knew that budget had missed the initial damage on the car. They charged us 660 euros to pay for a new windshield that we had not damaged. I appealed this twice and got no favorable response. Budget took the line that because they didn't notice it and we didn't notice it in the lot that we were responsible for it when it was clearly much more likely that good customers like us would not have noticed it until 30 minutes into our drive and that we did not cause it. I would not rent from budget.

Rip off

It’s was an absolute disaster, I was quoted €59. I knew it was going to be more when I got fully insured but not (€444)then had to get a car seat for €45 which was flirty.

I have come from the UK on Sunday and collected a car from budget travel shannon Airport,€727 I handed over for a car that has brakes worn down,one head light and clutch is slipping..absolute disgrace of a car to be handed aswell as already paying for the car I had an extra €300 to hand over at the counter..I will never hire from this company ever again

Ripped off...

My flight arrived an hour early into Belfast City, I explained this to the desk who replied "no problem, the car is ready" and after trying to sell an upgrade, passed on the keys. I returned the car before the time on my booking, the car was inspected and I was told everything was fine. A day later a £46 charge hit my credit card. On calling the Budget desk, I was told it was for an extra days rental as the car was returned an hour late. There was no warning at all - as two witnesses can verify - that collecting an hour early, would bring forward the return time by an hour. Tried to contact the desk 5 times but no one has returned emails or moved to any resolution. In my view a total scam to hoodwink customers - disgusting in these times.

Claiming to be a damaged windscreen

I see from other reviews on other sites that this is a usual occurrence.i would not recommend these to anyone going forward as I believe the damage was carried out in yard. They charged nearly 500e for a windscreen that they will claim of the insurance anyway it's a pure scam and so disappointing in such trying times. Working in an organisation with over 7000 staff I have made it clear not to use this service ever again. Disgusting carry on in this day ans age

Can't be their customer anymore

I never had issues with Budget car rentals before and I've been a customer for 3 years +, now they suddenly increased the excess fees to 2000 euros, which is the average limit on a credit card, therefore I can't be their customer again unless I request the increase of my CC limit. Pity. If they want "VIP" customers only they shouldn't call themselves budget.

False Damage claim

Not happy with false damage claim from the Dublin Airport center. Vehicle had hidden damage on the underside. Would be impossible to spot on inspection. On return the attendant called out the impossible to spot damage from a distance before even setting eyes on the vehicle. *EDIT Just seen the review left by Suvarna Maharaj stating the same damage, sill front left* *As for their statement saying they have no record of this person, that's either a lie also or that person used an alias.* Sad that during these difficult times they feel the need to push these fraudulent rentals onto unsuspecting renters.

Please do not rent from Budget Car Rental at Dublin Airport

I rented a car from Budget at Dublin Airport. There were already 11 damages reported on the car. I took pictures of the damages. When I returned the car, I was accused of a new damage under the left under sill. I did not cause any damage during the rental. This damage was already there before the rental which Budget Car Rental intentionally did not report. To notice this damage customer has to lie on the floor. Budget Car Rental is charging for the damages which are already there and they charge me 680 euros. Please do not rent from Budget at Dublin Airport. If you rent then make sure you lie down on the floor and check the car underneath and save yourself big money.

thought they valued customers however....

Got a rental for a few weeks from this company. Needed to extend the contract and drop off at a different location. Was told I had until 0500 to drop off the car. No instruction where to go in Dublin. Office closed, almost missed my flight then they charged me for extra days rental. Avoid

Pick up simple and efficient and the same for drop off, couldn't of been any easier. Nice car too.

Reception......1st class Car........ 1st class Return 1st class But I would recommend that the client is told that the car is returned with no damage and has been verified returned with a full tank of petrol.
