Terrible vehicles

Don't let them give you a silver Opel Astra at Warsaw Airport!! The actual pickup etc went very smoothly. However, when driving out of the car park I noticed the orange engine management light was on. I stopped and told the young lady who handed me the car. She said to ignore the light as it is a factory fault and the car was fine to drive. 10 minutes into the journey I was having real problems getting the car into gear and the clutch was very "sticky". I decided that I would drop my wife and 2 young daughters off at the hotel then go back to swap the car as it really wasn't performing. However, I got to traffic lights, I was in the middle of 3 lanes of traffic. The car began to shake violently. The car would not go into gear and then completely cut out. I tried the engine 3 or 4 times but when it did start I could not force it into gear. Having 2 young kids in the car they became quite scared as we were sitting ducks. We called the emergency number, got out the car and removed all our luggage and waited for help. It took almost 2 hours for the replacement car to arrive with lots of apologies. I have since sent them an email to say how upsetting the whole experience was. However, the reply didn't even contain an apology. They actually told me that there was nothing wrong with the car and they hired it out to another customer. Can you believe that??? I hope the next customer isn't in the fast lane of the motorway when it breaksdown again, they might not be so lucky!! They're playing with lives!!

Nur mit zusätzlicher Versicherung

Das Fahrzeug wurde im April über die Fluggesellschaft gebucht und mit der Kreditkarte bezahlt. Vor Ort mussten wir die Kaution hinterlegen und die Kreditkarte war nur 5 statt wie im Kleingedruckten auf der Seite 3 hingewiesen 6 Monate gültig. Alle anderen Möglichkeiten wurden abgelehnt und uns wurden 560.- Euro für eine Zusatzversicherung aufgezwungen. Nie wurde darauf hingewiesen was eher Täuschung und Geschäftsmodell ist. Man muss auch vor Ort nochmals ein Papier ausfüllen, dieses dient eher für die Provisionbeweis der abgezockten Touristen. Auf dem Zusatzvertrag der Versicherung war bereits alles vorausgefüllt, sie wussten schon das es hier was zu holen gab. Ganz miese masche von der Swiss unterstützten Carunion

Auto Union Greece (Preveza Airport)- would definitely use again. We were told to expect someone waiting with a sign on arrival - we couldn't find him for 10 mins which sent alarm bells ringing, however on calling the office they said to walk across the road and minibus would be waiting for us, which it was. This was the only negative experience we had. The transfer to their office is 1 min away. Our car was ready and waiting , we checked over and completed paperwork and all was fine. Drop off was quick and easy. They had minibus waiting to transfer us back.

Slechtste auto verhuur ooit

Slechtste auto verhuur ooit. Huur hier nooit een auto. De autoverhuur is slecht vindbaar. Bij aankomst hebben we een uur moeten wachten omdat de capaciteit niet op het aantal huurders berekend was. De auto die we meekregen maakte een absurd klapperend geluid dat vanuit de motorruimte kwam. AutoUnion was niet bereid naar ons toe te komen om het probleem op te lossen. In plaats daarvan hebben we een halve dag opgeofferd om terug te gaan naar autoUnion. Het mankement aan het voertuig is goed te verklaren. De verhuurder maakte een testrit waarbij hij de auto zo belachelijk ruig bestuurde dat geen auto het langer dan een jaar zou overleven. Bij het afleveren van de auto was de verhuurder zeer agressief en onbeleefd. Omdat er wat vervuiling door bezoek aan lokale stranden in de auto lag nam hij €50 euro van de borg in beslag. Aan de manier waarop dit kenbaar gemaakt werd blijkt dat dit spelletje vaker gespeeld wordt en dat ze op deze manier extra inkomsten proberen te genereren.

Crete Airport Chania Greece - Good service, friendly staff.

Nothing bad to say, they waited for us right outside the airport and drove us 3 minutes to their office. Got a nice clean car. No problem at return, they did a quick check of the car and drove us back to the airport.

SCAM ALERT

PREVESA....we booked a car from Abby who took us to Auto Union. the pick up was fine as was the car. the cars are not at the airport, so you are given a lift there. But when we returned the car, a guy called Stam, he refused to tell us his surname, told us the underneath of the car was scratched. We are careful drivers, and knew this was totally made up, and he knew exactly how much it would cost to repair it, a nice round E250 without looking up any list. we also know if we had scraped the underneath we would have heard it. He knew we had a flight to catch and we couldn't leave without them dropping us back to the airport. We rang a very kind local who we had met that week, who told us to ring the police as it was a scam, he knew of it. if we had done so we would have missed the flight. unfortunately knowing we had been fleeced we had to leave. This left a very sour note. I've never left a bad review, for anyone, but felt I had to here. Please be very careful and DONT GO NEAR AUTO UNION PREVESA. it will ruin your holiday....

Avoid at all costs and take note of what other 1 star viewers say, the company is just out to make money thats why there car hire is so cheap, we rented a car from Corfu airport, unfortunately we went over a bolt in the road and had to use the spare tyre, there was also a very tiny scratch on the bumper, 1 inch wide and long, they charged us 100 euros for this and said they would have to change the bumper, absolute rubbish, it could have been t cutted out easily, we also got charged 80 euros for a new tyre and wheel trim, absolute rip off, dont be fooled by their cheap car hire prices because they will make money out of you another way.

hire a car from Auto union in Corfu…

We hired a car from Auto Union in Corfu at their Kanoni office. We had the car for three days and were very pleased with it. The staff at the office were very helpful. We are somewhat disappointed that the excess deposit of €700 is to be deducted from my bank account and held for 10 to 20 days. This is the reason for only 4 stars. Normally the credit card receipt is just returned and not deducted from my account. Fingers crossed that we get our deposit back.

Small scratch Cost 100 euro, worst rental company

May 2 2019 rented in Santorini We walk into the shop and rented a car which is paid into cash cause the staff said there said there no special discount if its not paid by cash. He gave us a yellow paper which did not hv any damage review or shown us any damage, just told us to return the car at the exact time. When we return the car, he said there's a small scratch behind, which is cost 100 euro , i asked him how can u evaluate the scratch and ask for a 100 euro. There is another scratch which is cost by the past user, and he just said that he knows about that, he is making everything up , i ask him to show me pictures, he said he cannot provide. I have pictures of the small tiny scratch which is cost by the little stones by the road. I ask him i need to talk to his manager, he said he don't know know to speak English, and demand us to pay in cash aswell and said their credit card machine is not working, and ask mei to go to atm and withdraw cash for him ,I said im not gonna pay u any cash, thats when he get the credit card machine out . A really bad rental company, i do not recommend this company to anyone, and i feel scammed by this company 's staff. And i will share it to every forum and Facebook group about this terrible experience . If only i can upload the scratch which cost me 100 euro.

Ho noleggiato un auto per una settimana a mykonos tramite il sito Ryanair. Le informazioni contenute sono completamente fuorvianti. In aereoporto non esiste nessun banco di autounion. Dopo più di mezz’ora di ricerca e ormai convinti che fosse una truffa, è arrivato un furgone che ci ha caricato e portato da tutt’altra parte!! I nr di telefono riportati, non sono corretti e non rispondeva nessuno . Il personale dell aeroporto ci ha detto che quello era il nr dell aeroporto!!! Inoltre non sono state rispettate le condizioni di acquisto. Avevo pagato per avere carburante con formula pieno - pieno. Loro hanno imposto il vuoto-vuoto! Abbiamo avuto problemi anche per riconsegnare auto in quanto la consegna non è avvenuta in aeroporto ma alla loro sede! Peccato che ci avessero fornito l’indirizzo solo in lingua greca!! In internet non c’è traccia di questa agenzia . Giudizio pessimo. Mai più

The perfect Greek road trip!

We read the negative reviews before booking but did not believe them. We chose Auto Union because we wanted to support a Greek company. We are from Australia and did a road trip around Greece for 16 days. We were extremely happy with Auto Union. We booked on their website and got a 50% discount for off season. As stated in the attachment to the email they send you, their shuttle was waiting to collect us from Athens Aiport (they wait in the bus shuttle carpark to the right of the Arrivals exit). It was a very short ride of about six minutes to their office to pick up the car, a VW Up. The paperwork was super quick and off we went, returning the car 16 days later with no problems at all. The car was amazing for climbing the mountain roads and speeding down the expressways. We highly recommend Auto Union and would use them again in a heartbeat. We are suspicious of the negative reviews because that was not our experience at all. Auto Union were not scammers. They were extremely professional and reliable. Jason Aloia & Kat Donaghey

I always use the Thessaloniki by the…

I always use the Thessaloniki by the airport office and I find them courteous anf fare priced I was charged once 25€ for hubcap missing but you know what they are a business and not a charity and understandable by me. I recommend them. I used them in the summer 2014 and 2015 visiting from Canada and I wil use them this year George Frantzis
