Review summary
Access Training is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about communication and expensive.
I had my practical training, as well as plumbing & s&y with Stuart. Lessons felt very relaxed and if anyone didn't understand he would always show you again, but if someone still couldn't grasp it, he would have another way to explain/show which you would understand. Its made me have a whole new level of confidence in passing this course. Also had my summative with Stuart and Adam. They gave you a lot of support and guidance but you still always did the work yourself, which is good.
Been doing my gas training with Access and it’s been a great experience so far - the webinars with Andy Sibley were brilliant - he’s a really knowledgeable guy with lots of experience in the field to draw from, and his webinars are really informative and helpful, a great introduction to the course and the trade as a whole. He will take the time to explain things in detail if you don’t quite understand and even though the webinars can be quite long, he breaks them up by having a laugh and a bit of banter with everyone in the class. Really approachable guy who creates a relaxed, supportive and informative learning environment.
The practical gas training at the Edenbridge Centre with Stuart Sutton and Adam Lee was fantastic too - again, two really knowledgeable tutors with heaps of experience in the trade who both go to great lengths to support everyone in the class and equip you with all the training you need to succeed in both the course and out in the field once qualified. Stuart was great when I was struggling with the pipe bending aspect of the training - I was absolutely hopeless at first but he went out of his way to make sure I left the training centre at the end of the week fully confident in pipe bending having taken the time to teach me the techniques in a way that I better understood. Adam was brilliant during the assessment week in helping me navigate my write-ups for my portfolio - any questions that I had he was more than happy to take the time to answer them in detail, or if there was anything I didn’t understand about the formatting or layout of the portfolio he would sit down and walk me through it. I’m now onto the portfolio stage of my training before taking my ACS and I couldn’t feel better equipped for it thanks to the help of these guys. Great course, great people!
Have just been doing my ACS gas revision. Andy Sibley has been a brilliant tutor all through the course. He explains things clearly, makes the webinars fun, is engaging and is just a great teacher. He has also taken time to personally help me a few times, which is very kind and generous. Thanks Andy..
Paul who was doing the webinars was very good, lots of interaction with questions and his all round knowledge. Made this an enjoyable course to do so great experience
I was skeptical before I started this course, but now as I'm at the "final" day from electrical core, I can say I learned a good amount of information to trust in myself that one day I can be a proper electrician. Even though I never had the chance to meet my teacher Rob in live webinars, I was lucky enough to watch his recording. The fact that I could watch recordings on my time after work, or in my way back to home from work, I could take my time to rewatch alot of things that i couldn't understand from start. I've managed to pass slowly my homework and already I booked in 2 months from now my exams. I cannot wait to pass them and go with practice time. I really enjoyed the time with Rob as he is a good teacher and takes his time to explain and explain and then repeat again what he explained already. I highly recommend him and I hope I can get to meet him in real life or at practice.

In the webinar, Jennie discussed some very valuable information about trading laws. I learned a lot and will definitely use this information a lot in my career. 100% would recommend to anyone getting into trades.
Access Training ran a webinar with Jennie from Trading Standards. It was a really informative lesson. There was lots of handy tips and important information on how to be fair to your customers, but also ensure you are able to be paid for the work you do. There was some definite value in the information and on how to get help in the future.
Jemma’s gas course provided a comprehensive understanding of the subject. The course adequately prepared me for training, and I appreciate Jemma’s expertise in delivering the content.
She is a good teacher. She is very knowledgeable when she is giving lessons/ webinar. Zakia was very helpful with any difficulty I encountered with the webinars and portal issues. I highly recommended access training is best.
Jedi / Gas Safety Engineering Training with Jon Jenkins and Peter Lansdown
I'm nearly at the end of a two week practical gas engineering course at Access Training, Cardiff, and I can honestly say I've never been through anything like it.
Most of our time has been spent under the tutelage of Jon Jenkins Esq. Not only were we shown the varied and intricate elements of the tools of our future craft but also a tremendously good time was had by all in class. Much was asked of us and a high bar was set, but by testing came triumph.
Flame blowing torches were ignited. Mysterious pellets were waved and their smoke traced through darkened shafts of steel. In turn, furious fires of blue and orange were stoked, studied, and solemnly extinguished. Metal rods of strange shapes were brandished above, around, and below (at 100mm distance) machines that, we were reliably informed, have the capability of heating SPACE.
Questions were asked, enigmas were solved, and, yes, screwdrivers were turned. Indeed, through the fumes of challenge our sensei forged champions.
And a lot of other stuff happened too - imagine Jedi training, on steroids, but crossed with quantum mechanics, rocket science, AND maths. We even got some stories about waterfalls and hippopotamuses.
So in short, you'll have to try it yourself because I've got another couple of days left and I'm too shattered to write more. Tomorrow I have to service a boiler and fill in a CP12 form about it.
Thanks again to Jon Jenkins and Peter Lansdown.
Rob Glover is a great teacher and you can get a sense that he is very knowledgeable when he is giving his lessons/webinars. He is also approachable and funny and makes the webinars informative with a bit of humour, especially with his different character voices. Zakia was very helpful with any difficulties I encountered with the webinars and my portal. would highly recommend Access Training.
