Review summary
Access Training is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about communication and expensive.
I had my practical training, as well as plumbing & s&y with Stuart. Lessons felt very relaxed and if anyone didn't understand he would always show you again, but if someone still couldn't grasp it, he would have another way to explain/show which you would understand. Its made me have a whole new level of confidence in passing this course. Also had my summative with Stuart and Adam. They gave you a lot of support and guidance but you still always did the work yourself, which is good.
Been doing my gas training with Access and it’s been a great experience so far - the webinars with Andy Sibley were brilliant - he’s a really knowledgeable guy with lots of experience in the field to draw from, and his webinars are really informative and helpful, a great introduction to the course and the trade as a whole. He will take the time to explain things in detail if you don’t quite understand and even though the webinars can be quite long, he breaks them up by having a laugh and a bit of banter with everyone in the class. Really approachable guy who creates a relaxed, supportive and informative learning environment.
The practical gas training at the Edenbridge Centre with Stuart Sutton and Adam Lee was fantastic too - again, two really knowledgeable tutors with heaps of experience in the trade who both go to great lengths to support everyone in the class and equip you with all the training you need to succeed in both the course and out in the field once qualified. Stuart was great when I was struggling with the pipe bending aspect of the training - I was absolutely hopeless at first but he went out of his way to make sure I left the training centre at the end of the week fully confident in pipe bending having taken the time to teach me the techniques in a way that I better understood. Adam was brilliant during the assessment week in helping me navigate my write-ups for my portfolio - any questions that I had he was more than happy to take the time to answer them in detail, or if there was anything I didn’t understand about the formatting or layout of the portfolio he would sit down and walk me through it. I’m now onto the portfolio stage of my training before taking my ACS and I couldn’t feel better equipped for it thanks to the help of these guys. Great course, great people!
Have just been doing my ACS gas revision. Andy Sibley has been a brilliant tutor all through the course. He explains things clearly, makes the webinars fun, is engaging and is just a great teacher. He has also taken time to personally help me a few times, which is very kind and generous. Thanks Andy..
Paul who was doing the webinars was very good, lots of interaction with questions and his all round knowledge. Made this an enjoyable course to do so great experience
I joined access in 2024 as a student, during which time I was privileged to learn from tutors that I believed to be not just the best, but passionate to train the younger generation, then I met Tony Taylor in Manchester and my world view about best and passionate changed. Without an ounce of doubt, I believe that Tony Taylor is one of the finest brains in the teaching industry. I would recommend Access Training a million times over to anyone interested in learning trade.
I have just finished my practical gas training at the Manchester branch (M1 7EW). This was a great centre with a great instructor, Tony Taylor was fantastic who helped build my confidence up. I now feel confident working with my own engineer to complete my portfolio.
Am very very impressed as he (Craig Wiltshire) always answers my questions in few seconds doesn’t matter it was weekend or week days
1000 times recommended
Really appreciated
The knowledge that craig Wiltshire has is amazing and if you are struggling with some thing then he will go out of his way to make sure that the help is available whether is 1 to 1 or group videos
I am about to finish up with this company after a long 3 years of study starting back in lockdown. After studying electrics with access training I have learned a lot about the electrical industry. I have gone from having no qualifications to having a NVQ and completing my AM2.
If you are looking for a reliable college then look no further, however there are some little issues but that is expected. I myself live In Derby, so nearly all my training was at Welwyn garden. I travelled there and back everyday for the training and assessment which wasn’t to bad.
But once it came to the NVQ side of things certain things can only be done in Wales and Edenbridge which required me to get a hotel for a week or 2 while I trained and got assessed, Which required more funds. Also take note the AM2 is not included in the price you will have to pay for that separately, but that is the same across the board for all colleges, unless you are an apprentice.
The tutors and staff as a whole are amazing with excellent response times, Rob and Zakia in particular are excellent.
Now this was funded by myself and after travel and hotels and days off work I have spend upwards of 7k however it’s the best thing I have done, I now run my own business and fully qualified to do so.
When it comes to your NVQ portfolio, access will hand you over to a NVQ assessor, now if you have the opportunity, ask for Craig Wiltshire he’s an award winning assessor and a absolute star, very well recognised in the education sector. He will do his best to help you achieve your qualifications.
Now you need to be working as an electrician to gather evidence, now I did this part time along side my full time job unpaid with a local company. Use your imagination to achieve this evidence.
This course is no joke you will have to put your blood sweat and tears into this, this is not an attendance course. This has been a rollercoaster for me, becoming obsessed with books and study. But it can be done.
If you don’t choose this company with your study. Please be careful as there are a lot of scammers out there promising you the world. But achieve nothing, if it sounds too good to be true, then it is. There is no quick way to achieve this.
But as whole I think this company deserves 5 stars as the horrors stories I have heard over the years with other colleges. Access have never let me down
Sunmative gas week at edenbridge. Stuart, Adam and Ruby were excellent this week in helping me get through my gas summative assessments. The teaching from Stuart and Adam during my gas course has been second to none as they really go above and beyond to make sure I fully understand what they are teaching me. I highly recommended taking your gas course at this centre
They are trying to overcharging me for a course I never did. Returned the books and still waiting for a refund after weeks.
Impossible to get through head office and they deliberately stalling the process.
