We have been attending waterbabies lessons for 13 months now, by daughter is 18 months old.
From day 1 we had a great experience, we were nervous and I had no idea how was going to dry and dress myself and the baby at the end of the lesson. My partner and I didn’t have a system at this point, but the pool side teacher was fantastic and checked on us to see if she could help in any way or take the babies to the waiting dads when ready or even hold them and comfort them while we got dressed.
Since that lesson I have seen my daughter do nothing but thrive. We have made friends through these lessons, some of which I class as good friends and we all have a group chat.
Our in pool teacher is also just as amazing, she keeps the lessons fun, advises us if little one isn’t happy when it’s best to not join in the activity/submersion to avoid causing aversions.
People mention the costs, however, if you miss a lesson for any reason, you are able to attend a ‘catch up’ session so you don’t miss out financially, which I think is fantastic as not all places would offer this.
All in all, anyone who tells me they’re contemplating joining waterbabies, I advise to attend at least one class, because I’m sure they won’t be disappointed.
