I was a loyal customer of The Ecig Store in Galway for many years. On 6 May 2025, I reached for a vape bottle on display — something I’ve done without issue in previous visits. A staff member scolded me, despite there being no signage indicating that this was not allowed. I paid politely but remarked, “get over yourself” due to the unprofessional tone. Later that evening, I received an unsolicited call from the store owner, Gerry Devaney, who initially refused to identify himself. He later admitted retrieving my mobile number via a reprinted receipt linked to my loyalty card. I had not consented to this use of my personal data, and the call was made to personally reprimand me for a minor disagreement — not for a service-related issue. I formally requested the erasure of my data under GDPR, but this was ignored. Instead, I was banned from all store locations, and warned against posting a review. I have since submitted a complaint to the Data Protection Commission. This review is not written in malice, but to inform others about how personal data may be used without consent. I’m deeply disappointed after years of supporting this business. [Update after business reply:] Thank you for your reply. I appreciate that you wish to clarify your position. To address a few points factually: This was the first time I was reprimanded in this manner. There was no signage indicating customers could not pick up products, and I had done so without issue on previous visits. During your call, you initially gave only your first name. I asked for clarification on who I was speaking with, which is reasonable when receiving an unsolicited call. The use of my personal data for a personal reprimand was the core of my concern. This went beyond transactional service and was a GDPR issue, which is why I exercised my right to file a complaint. I did not threaten, but informed you of my right to pursue appropriate legal and data protection avenues, which is standard practice. I am glad to hear you have now erased my data as requested. My review was written in good faith, based on facts. I will allow others to make their own judgment.
i had some issues with the tracking of my orders but they do answer mails and we solved the issues, good products
Absolutely shameful! They had produscts as available online, placed an order, got a call next day to find out they are out of stock and I will be refunded. That was on 4th of october, so 26 days ago, still no money back on account. Contactef them, including Gerry, they just stopped replying to emails. Had to take it up with my bank today to get the money back.

Beware sold me faulty product and made pay again to resolve the problem and all the years I've been doing business in their shops around Galway and this is the way they treat me but yet the staff member that said no to replacing my top turned around and gave the lady he was serving a free cig top and charged me for a faulty one they sold me
Obviously I should have read the reviews before dealing with this company. I placed an order for eliquids worth €74. I received a call the next day to say that they did not have the liquids in stock but were expecting a delivery after the bank holiday weekend. Since then I have heard nothing from them despite having messaged and emailed an enquiry. Seems as though they have decided to just keep my money and ignore me. Fraudulent company. Beware.
I ordered various flavoured disposable vapes which were on offer or on promotion. The next day 14th March) I received several communications to advise that most of my selected items were no longer in stock. As a result, I cancelled my order and requested a refund for the total sum debited from my bank account. I WAS ADVISED BY email on 14th March THAT a REFUND had been Processed. SEVERAL PHONE CALLS and EMAILS On I AM STILL WAITING FOR MONEY DUE TO ME TO BE CREDITED TO MY ACCOUNT. TODAY, I WAS TOLD THAT " ONCE THE BUTTON IS PRESSED THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO" IT WOULD APPEAR FROM THE ATTITUDE OF THIS BUSINESS THAT It's OK FOR ME TO BE OUT OF POCKET! I WILL NOT BE TRANSACTING ANY FUTURE BUSINESS WITH ECig Store.
Watch the prices here .. nothing in the store is priced from what I could see yet ended up paying €65 for a battery pack that’s available in other Irish stores for €39.95. (El iStick t80) when I complained to the owner he stated buyer beware and he can charge whatever he likes. Very poor, beware.. Brian O’Hehir.
Terrible customer service (don’t buy off these lads absolute scammers) Bought two vapes online one of them was not working, tried speaking to customer service and this was the pleasant response i got ‘ Hi At theCBDStore we don't really care about your issues since we all ready have your money feel free to leave a review on trustpilot if your unhappy cause we are unconcerned about your whinging. I did not get my orders. I text to the shop they write if i still dont get they contact with curier. But nothing happened. I lost my money and they not answer for my emails.
