Easy to apply and setup!

It was a great all around experience. Terms were fair, I got what i needed to take care of my finances, and the whole process was quick and hassle free!!!

So far the applying and getting approved was pretty simple and very easy. The communication so far has been great and the reminder emails about the payments are very helpful.

The easy of the application process

For me, it was difficult to know whether the many positive reviews I read about SoFi were written by real people or bots. When looking for debt relief I was both quite anxious and leary of trusting a service because I was afraid of making my situation worse. I wanted to take time to write a review because I am a real person and have had, so far, a great experience. Everyone's situation is different...so this is not meant to be advice. If your situation is similar to mine, perhaps SoFi can help you as well. When I applied I had about $40,000 of credit debt and a credit score of 640. Nervously, I applied a few different times, right up to the point of doing a hard pull on my credit because I feared making my score worse. After four starts, I finally completed the application. There was some relief in being presented about four or five options to paying off my debt. I chose the best terms for me and then felt some additional relief when I had a specific plan to pay off my debt in three years. I had read reviews about SoFi changing the APR during the course of repayment. My loan is a fixed APR for the term of the loan and the rate is far better than what two of my credit lines were. One question that took some time to find an answer to is that, after the first repayment, I can change the monthly due date. It took me three days to have the loan money show up in the accounts I needed it to...I had most of the loan deposited to creditors directly. I mention this because I did get confusing messaging from SoFi about when the money would actually show up in the accounts...and banks have their own slow processes. All in all, I am very glad a month in that I did this. It feels good to have a plan. The application process itself was easy.

I've had Sofi for maybe almost 10 years now. I had several loans I had to combine into this one. Sofi was one of the only companies that was able to take on the loans I had and consolidate it into one. The process was quick and easy and I am happy with Sofi so far.

Run away from Sofi! Their customer service is horrible. They do not understand how to communicate with people or even how the loans work

Horrible customer service. I was promised $300 through Rakuten bonus for setting up direct deposit, deposited within the allotted time, and never got the bonus. Also never received $50 bonus from SoFis end for direct depositing over $1k per paycheck. Got one email response, then never heard back from them again despite sending 3 emails. Stay away, they will not give you money they promise.

This was the easiest and quickest process I’ve ever had to get a loan. Thank you SoFi!

They restricted my account on July 31st with $5k they are withholding now for over a month. It has been very harsh not to have access to my funds. I’ve called, sent emails and they refused to tell me what’s happening with the account and to give me my funds.

This was, by far, the worst experience I've had with any financial establishment. After submitting the requested employment details on the third day of the application process, I did not hear back for two weeks and had to call to find out that the information furnished was never recorded by the representative. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this lender.

I have been trying to open a joint account with my husband since March 2025. It’s currently September and yet again there are more issues with sofi being able to close the loop on this issue. I have talked to multiple departments and never ended in a resolution. Honestly it’s just not worth it! I have never had to try so hard to open a checking account. Every other bank I have used, allows a personal and joint account- but not sofi. I started the process to close my accounts and it took over a month to close. From there the customer support team gave me three different answers for why my account wasn’t showing as “closed” and kept giving errors when I followed their instructions to open a joint account. I called one last time to resolve today, after finding out multiple other customer service reps only made the situation worse, I still ended up not being able to open the joint checking account. That was after three hours of being on the phone. The prompts for identity verification don’t work. After waiting 6+ months, I don’t want to wait another 1-2 weeks for tech support to email me back about their software not working. The irony is I confirmed my identity today on the phone with a rep, through a different process and it worked - yet for my account set up following their instructions the application failed and their suggestions made the issue worse. I give up- I am using Capitol one. They have a similar checking and savings rate and way less hassle. I can’t imagine for the people with fraud, or overdraft issues what it must be like. They can’t even set up a simple joint account! What bank have you ever heard of taking 6+ months? Buyer beware. I anticipate their stock pricing dropping based on the current user experience. Sell your shares while you still can! The merger has NOT improved their products or processes.

Amazing. Very easy steps to get the funds deposited to my bank account at a pretty interest rate. Very professional platform. Highly recommended.
