Upon arrival at Brindisi Arriving at Brindisi airport late on June 24th, 2025, Sicily by Car rental staff were unhelpful, rude, and even antagonistic. I booked a small, Panda-like car via EasyJet for navigating narrow streets. The agent, speaking quickly through a screen, reluctantly repeated herself when asked. She had me sign for an unseen car, took my credit card details and pointed to the dark car park for vehicle collection. No staff assisted us, indicating very poor customer service.
We located our assigned car by pressing the key fob, but it was larger than requested. Upon returning to the office, a staff member aggressively asked, "What's the matter now?!" I explained the car was too big and asked to have it changed. She yelled "No!", stating no other options were available and blamed our late arrival and booking via EasyJet instead of directly with Sicily by Car. To avoid conflict, I suggested we cancel the booking and take a cab. Volià!, a Fiat 500 soft top was offered. Despite being unclean and having no screen wash, we accepted and left.
We will not be booking car hire through EasyJet again, and certainly not with Sicily by Car.
