Booked through Zest, which I would recommend because you can get a very cheap extra insurance for zero-risk. Car was relatively new with some small scratches, correctly marked on the paper. Return was checked immediately and signed off as zero damage, no extra costs and the creditcard deposit was undone immediately.

Booking a car online was straight forward and, for us, was a good price with the extras we needed (full insurance, breakdown etc.). We found the office in the airport to complete the paperwork then, walked from the airport to the car hire location (there is a shuttle bus (for all the off-airport car hire companies) but the queue was quite long and the traffic around the airport itself appeared congested). The "offices" of the rental companies in the lot, are mini-buses with windows in the side. The "Sicily By Car" staff were friendly and helpful (we don't speak Italian). The car was close by, clean and had the required break-down triangle, high-viz etc. and the relevant phone numbers (should we have needed them). With a full tank of fuel, and driving direction help from the staff, we went off into the Italian traffic. Two weeks and 1,200km later we returned the car. There are plenty of petrol stations nearby so it was easy to fill the tank before-hand. Again the staff were welcoming and polite and the check-in process concluded quickly. The shuttle bus pick-up was close by and we enjoyed the short ride back to the airport. The experience we had with "Sicily By Car" was simple and straight-forward and we will look to use their services again, the next time.

Perfect car(cupra leon) very good petrol consumption(4.5 liters/100 km). Clean, almost new car(10k km). The pick-up and drop off were very fast and smooth, no issues.
