This was a fantastic trip, 3 countries in 14 days. It is a full on trip but you see so much. The safari drives were great and Victoria Falls amazing. The other stops were great too. Nicotte the tour g... See more
We had an excellent and value for money trip to Jordan in the Spring. Our guide was both informative and interesting.
This is an excellent company to deal with..great value for money, well organised, knowledgeable guides, good ground and transfer arrangements, comprehensive programme always covering the main highlights of the country visited. Good standard of hotels. RSD UK office staff are pleasant, easy to deal with, helpful and settle any queries quickly. Highly recommend.
Visited the highlights of Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia Very well organised by RSD with an informative and friendly guide on our coach and in all the places that we visited. Our hotels were all upmarket (4 Star), with well-equipped and comfortable rooms and excellent food. Very good value-for-money. Highly recommended.
Im still away and now at my so called 5 star hotel. If you have any bookings please see my review This is my first RSD trip and my last. If it looks too good to be true it is. Our 5 star hotel is equivalent to a possible 3 star in the Canary Islands Too much time taken to factories, friends cafe and pressure to buy. Hours spent in carpet factory and jewellery factory. Guide suggested as we had been hand picked to be able to come on the tour so he would like us to spend £1,000 shopping! Sightseeing definitely not top of the agenda. This is why I came here After being told if we paid all inclusive package for 2nd week the guide would try his hardest to get sea view rooms …. Also told the hotel was remote so everyone took on the all inclusive package. This is not the case. We are on a main road leading to alanya with shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Yet another lie to get us to part with our money Turns out this was never true. RSD travellers in my group were always going to be given land view, and road, views. Complete rip off in my opinion In fact it is SO BAD I’ve booked a flight and taxi home…
I traveled to Greece with RSD Travel organization and it was amazing journey around ancient (and not only) Greece. As always sites we visited were very interesting. Hotel was very comfortable and food very tasty. The tour guide gave as a lot of useful information about the country and visiting places.
Just been on the phone to RSD Travel Ltd. as they sent me a letter by post offering a Balkans holiday for a starting price of £250. I received the letter today and phoned straight away to be told that the price wasn't available and it would be £450. This is the third time I've tried to book an advertised price which has turned out to be not available but they continue to promote the "offers" that don't exist. Facebook shows these adverts on repeat with very low privces which are never actually available when you contact them. It is disingenuous business practice to make false offers that are unavailable when the prupose is to upsell to other more expensive dates. I've asked to be removed from their advertising as it's a complete waste of time. Having read some of the other reviews here I'm glad I didn't book.
I recently took an RSD holiday to Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro. I should have realised it was too good to be true with the price. From the off I have to say the hotels were, in the main, exceptionally good. As was the food provided. However it was the outright deceit of the Rep and this company that was unrepresentable. The addition trips were sold like you were going to be left waiting at the roadside while the additional trips were in progress. The 'Trip' to Mostar, although truly unmissable, meant that we had driven within 10km for cultural carpet visit (more of that later!) driven to our hotel in Medjugorje, only to be driven back to Mostar! I wouldn't have missed Mostar but why it was an extra cost I am at a loss. All the way through the first week we were being told our final weeks destination hotel was unknown. Therefore unable to plan anything. That turned out to be an absolute lie when we arrived there the guests that were there all knew our guide. He had also told everyone that unless they took the extra full board package they wouldn't get anything to eat. Lie! One couple were so worried about that and about his description of how remote it was, they took a taxi back to Dubrovnik at their own expense. This they later found excluded them from the final night hotel and bus ride to airport. Outrageous behaviour. One the final day of the last week we were told we would be heading to Sveti Stefan. This was 2.5km from our hotel. But we were driven back to Kotor for cultural shopping trips. After being manhandled at the carpet store trying to cajole you into buying £5,000 carpets I was ready for the Jewellery shop. What I wasn't ready for was that there was apparently no way out of the 'store'. Guiding a blind chap we had little interest in jewellery and only after insisting we be let out did we sit in a café for 1 1/2 hours waiting for the others to be released. I completely declined to enter the leather shop as I had zero interest in purchasing £2,500 jackets. After 5hrs of forced shopping we drove past Sveti Stefan being allowed only to glance at it. Having been there previously and knowing what a lovely spot it was I was enraged. Particularly when the Rep then started telling us we needed to go to a certain cashpoint to give him his tip and there were non at the final hotel. Lie! We did pay the full board package for the final week. It had to be paid in cash!!!!! and doubled the price of the trip. I have asked RSD to stop sending me mail and messaging me with offers as I wouldn't travel with them again if you paid me. Can I repeat the hotels were excellent in the main. Hence my extra star. One hotel had particularly dodgy electrics and refused to provide extra bedding as the aircon couldn't be taken off cold. If you are aware of this companies 'Extra's Scams' and bold enough to bat them off you could have a very reasonably priced holiday. But prepare to be brow beaten, herded, manhandled and lied to at every junction.
We booked a holiday (myself and my wife) through this firm but our experience was well below par – in fact the organization and customer service was completely unacceptable. We referred our issues to RSD but they simply refused to accept anything we said. Here are just some of the issues we faced – which in the end effectively ruined our holiday; - We requested Airport Assistance for my wife and RSD confirmed this would be arranged. In the event we found at the airport (Manchester) that no such assistance had been arranged and we later found out that other passengers on the same trip also had similar experiences. - We were travelling with friends and had made RSD aware of this – requesting that we stayed together throughout the trip. On arrival in Croatia we were however placed on a different coach to our friends and then found we were booked into separate hotels. This wasn’t a great start to our planned holiday together. - When we were en-route to Montenegro we were directed to a further separate hotel from our friends only to find we had no reservation booked there. They’d sent us to the wrong hotel which resulted in our having to make a taxi journey to the correct hotel. Eventually we were placed on the same coach and hotels as our friends – some 5 days into the holiday. - The rep on the coach was rude and unhelpful – and he also offended others on the coach with his attitude. It certainly was not a great experience and we were glad to see the back of him. He appeared to ‘rip people off’’ when changing currency from sterling to euros for passengers (including us) - the rates given were certainly not fair compared to currency exchange rates on offer at the time. One elderly lady in particular received a very poor exchange and lost quite a bit of money as a result. We also found out later in the trip that he had not passed on tips made by passengers meant for the coach driver. - When we travelled to Montenegro for the second week – advertised as 8 days relaxation in a four star hotel – we’d purchased the ‘Gourmet package’ from the rep on our coach - making it all inclusive. In our opinion the food and service was not gourmet standard and the food for instance was of poorer quality and often served cold. There were also other incidents which made our entire holiday a very unpleasant one – when we were expecting the reverse to be the case. Other travellers had similar views. Despite referring issues to RSD direct and numerous letters of complaint – they remained intransigent – except for offering a token £100 voucher off another holiday with them. Suffice it to say we will not be using it!! Mike Norminton
An excellent and excursion packed week as we travelled the length and breadth of Jordan, from Jerash in the north, to Aqaba in the very far south and Qasr Amr in the east. Cannot recommend too highly, and very educational - not to be missed
This company provides such great value for money. The excursions are chosen with care and the tour guides, especially Maria for the Greece tour, are knowledgeable, personable and nothing was too much trouble. This company is one of my favourites and offer a wide range of experiences. I can thoroughly recommend them!
Comprehensive tour of many ancient Greek sites. I appreciated an additional trip being added on the free day to see Corinth and Corinth canal. A good holiday which I would recommend to others
High quality cultural tour with experienced English speaking guides at a great price. Can't recommend highly enough. RSD Travel to many different places in Asia and Europe and Africa.
Our tour of Rhodes in November was our fifth trip with RSD. You know that you will experience the culture of places that you visit as well as following an itinerary that will take you to all the major sites. Nevertheless, visits to smaller locations are also included that may have been missed had you gone under your own steam. The accommodation provided has always been above expectation for the cost of the trip and the local guides knowledgeable and helpful. You will also travel with tour companions who tend to be like-minded. In Rhodes we had a wonderful 2 weeks; the first week was a guided tour of Rhodes and parts of Antalya in Turkey. For the second week we were accommodated in a luxury hotel and we took the opportunity to further explore Rhodes by hiring a car. You know prior to the guided cultural tour that you will have the obligatory visit to 3 local businesses but the decision to purchase is entirely yours. I doubt the cost of the holiday could be such excellent value without these visits. I would have no reservation in recommending RSD to people who wish to experience new cultures in a safe environment that doesn't cost you an arm and and a leg (excuse the pun). We look forward to future tours.
Smooth travel arrangements, excellent guides who really know their stuff. We have been on several RSD trips and have several more booked, classical Greece around Corinth was last year’s highlight and we’re looking forward to Sri Lanka next June. Great idea going off season to keep people in work!
We've been on 3 RSD tours now. The value is unbeatable. Our second tour was curtailed by the beginning of lockdown in Morocco but the company were very efficient in getting all the guests back safely. Our most recent tour to Rhodes and Turkey was packed with wonderful sites, good food and well chosen hotels. The week in the Rhodos Palace was a welcome time of relaxation after what had been a particularly good tour, especially for lovers of ancient history. We've already booked to go back!
Efficient administration starts the process, good value for money. The company always has an interesting itinerary, they take you to sites that are worth visiting. In our experience the guides are knowledgable and informed, their English is of a good to excellent standard. For me the guide makes the itinerary, they have to manage the group and maintain good relations. You won't find them lacking in expertise. Hotels are well chosen in all our visits, 20+ hotels we've stayed in, only one was disappointing, but even this had staff trying to make the best of limited resources, the rest good to excellent. Finally manage your expectations, this is a good value for money, but do expect delays, (it comes with travel) and don't expect it to be cheap booze. Your travelling party are mostly delightful. But there's those 5% who love to moan and groan, whinging pops as the Australians would say.
An excellent guide and a very good coach driver. We enjoyed the tours and the knowledge of the guide was very informative. Hotel's were of a good standard and we found the second week in Rhodes relaxing.
Fabulous holiday in Croatia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania, right up our street with a blend of cultural tours led by informative guides coupled with wonderful relaxation towards the end.
Not even 1 star but you have to fill in something. Im still on their books even though I have asked to be removed. RSD travel are still at it. Holidays Advertised, Croatia & Montenegro. 15 days £1250 but, with voucher you pay £250. 15 days in Rhodes £1250 with voucher £250, 14 days to India £1649. Voucher £999. 15 days Cappadocia £1250 voucher £250. BE WARNED, you have to pay for food package as this holiday I'd classed as BED ONLY, Both weeks Charged separately so an added extra, Then encouraged to go full board, this cost even more but Only local beer and wine included, Day trips are an added extra charge, in the end you pay the original holiday cost of over £1000. Or More. Big and Bold £250 then when you get there. Kaching. More money to pay out. You can go anywhere now all inclusive at half the cost. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. Wish I could post the paperwork received...
I have tried today to book with this company who will not accept a booking from me as I have somei issues walking ( I am not non ambulatory I need assistance over distances) despite the fact that I have travelled the world with this disability RSD are telling me Quote -‘ it is mandatory that you participate in all the tours’ yes that fine - I do the bits I ca t do ( Croatia, lake Bled Pitvic lakes last year with Newmarket Hiolidays ) the bits I can’t ( as with others in any group with limited walking ability ) I don’t do. I have a companion no one has to d anything for me. IThe problem seems to be the ‘ ballistic missile AKA a small battery operated scooter. Airlines will take them so will most others it’s even been on the Great Wall of China and to india & an African safari BUT NOT RSD!! I have been on tours where some people can hardl put one foot in front of the other I can walk but only on short distances as is true for other people with heart or chest problems or just elderly Otherwise I need mechanical help. I have travel insurance the scooter is insured so what’s the problem? it would seem to lay with RSD travel whose blanket policy is no wheelchairs, no walking frames and no scooters. They see, whquite happy to discriminate against persons with a physical disability. How appalLIng RSD — 2024 and you implemented discriminatory practices Saga, Titan, Newmarket Travelsphere don’t have issues but RSD do please don’t dont get ill on their tours - I’ve been told participation is ‘MADATORY’ so goodness knows what you do if you get sick or just want to have a day ‘off ‘ presumably RSD ghestsp guides will be knocking on your room door whip in hand to make sure you comply and meet the mandatory requirement of full and total participation don’t think of opting out of climbing up that hill or set of setups! And hide your walking stick I hope no member of their staff ever has an accident illness which incapacitates them and has a similar experience to me or perhaps they should to be able to see things from a better and more considerate perspective ! you need to review your policies RSD and not make ‘ blanket ‘ discrinatory’ shocking practise in this day and age —- NIl stars but I had to give ones Trust pilot doesn’t do nil and minus! EDIT RSD a have replied to my email about this refusal to take my booking and put forward their very bigoted blanket policy to refuse to take a booking from persons who need to take some assistance equipment on their tours and asked if I would amend the above. After considering email all I can say is they just rubbed salt into the already inflicted wounds. Considering my experience as a disabled traveller which is GLOBAL no I stand by every word I have said and question their practice in relation to the Equalities and discrimination acts. Lots people have hidden disabilities which affect their ability to fully participate but they are invisible that’s the difference ! I wonder if they would refuse to Frank Gadener or Nickie Fox both disabled journalists who like me travel the world on all sorts of terrain with equipment, but when I read other Trust Pilot reviews I think I have had lucky escape some of them - well Look for yourself! There was plenty of availability for this tour I couldn’t get past the booking clerk because of the blanket refusal on disability equipment Norther Cyprus but Newmarket Holidays do the same been with them before so I’ll speech my cash with them
