I hummed about this one before eventually not investing. I could easily have got done but usually for a lot of the projects I wasn't quick enough in deciding. That is probably why because it felt like... See more

A smooth and simple sign up process and a great way to try to make the energy system in the UK a greener and better one. Excited for my wind plant to be built!
Decided to buy part of the second windfarm as the first has done so well. This is such a great idea to enable people to generate their own electricity. There's a very in-depth document to read that lists all the benefits and outlines all possible risks. Love that even if you move house it can come with you unlike solar!. Very impressed with Ripple so far. Very open and honest.
Brilliant scheme. Everyone should join.
Very clear & helpful
I considered applying for the first scheme and have followed Ripple since then. I have solar panels supplying my own house but they supply little energy in the winter months whereas wind could contribute to filling the gap. Large turbines are far more efficient than small ones so the concept of being part of a larger scheme was very appealing. The information provided was informative and I am satisfied that I understand the risks that I am taking. The recent rise in energy costs has only reinforced my decision to subscribe. It is probably one of the best hedges against rising energy prices i could make. I have recently aquired an electric car and I am planning a move away from oil fired heating to electricity which will increase my reliance on electricity. Issues around the pandemic and the tragedy in the Ukraine have made energy prices very volatile and I also believe that there is a distinct risk that the transition process to renewables could also contribute to volatility. Having a relatively small interest in a large venture seems a small insurance price to pay.
The basic idea of being able to invest in green energy and so reduce your electricity bills is very exciting. However, until Kirk Hill windfarm is up and running it is very difficult to recommend it. The existence of an earlier scheme at Craig Falla in Wales which I believe has just started working is an encouraging sign of things to come.
Clear and concise
I've got PV panels, solar hot water, an air source heat pump and two EVs, so it make sense to have as much renewable energy as possible. Small wind turbines are expensive to install, and often won't be in the right place or most effective because of their size. But having a tiny part of a wind farm, now that is a good idea. Limiting the size of investment to your own consumption is also a neat idea because it means large investors can't take over and make all the profit. It's a co-operative venture, built by little people, for little people, and it gives a decent enough return on investment; probably three times as good as putting it in a building society, albeit tied up for 25 years (Oligarchs need not apply). It's a whole new way of doing things - and I'm all for it.
Great Idea, Easy Process So Far. 12 months until first savings.
Sarah leads a great team at Ripple Energy. They are exactly what we all need for a future that's sustainable. And they do it with such competence and style. In my opinion they are a world class eco organisation who bring down my bills too!
I have applied and been accepted. Communication from Ripple is very good and I am being kept up to date with progress
This is such a great scheme! It’s more important now than ever. Electricity prices are only going to increase and increase again. It’s good for the household finances and good for the environment. I am so glad I joined Ripple.
Very easy to work my way through the documents and easy to sign up. I had a query and the online chat was a great way to resolve it. Love the whole concept of Ripple and can't wait for 'my' wind farm to come on line.
Very prompt replies to queries and excellent information on website. Very satisfied.
Fantastic creative company and product. Brilliant idea and concept. Excellent way to buy into sustainable energy.
Very impressed with the scope and thoroughness of the Ripple explanations. Of course, it's a gamble financially, tho worthwhile ethically, bu it's all too early to tell, really. Experience from the earlier scheme should help. My only disquiet is with the large amount of external financial input, and how they would pocket a long lifetime of benefits which are denied to ordinary investors like me.
Great project, clearly explained with comprehensive information.
I have been given regular updates Which is very useful.
We need more renewable community energy like this to help people with their bills and enable the benefits to be shared rather than make money for big energy companies.
