A Different Way of Doing Things
I've got PV panels, solar hot water, an air source heat pump and two EVs, so it make sense to have as much renewable energy as possible. Small wind turbines are expensive to install, and often won't be in the right place or most effective because of their size. But having a tiny part of a wind farm, now that is a good idea. Limiting the size of investment to your own consumption is also a neat idea because it means large investors can't take over and make all the profit. It's a co-operative venture, built by little people, for little people, and it gives a decent enough return on investment; probably three times as good as putting it in a building society, albeit tied up for 25 years (Oligarchs need not apply). It's a whole new way of doing things - and I'm all for it.
