The PDSA has looked after my 3 rescue…

The PDSA has looked after my 3 rescue golden retrievers for over 5 years. Byron from a Welsh puppy farm, rescued by Many Tears, is very special with brain damage, one eye and epilepsy. He has had epilepsy medication for 5 years with annual check ups. I wouldn’t have been able to have supported the costs without this charity. His last visit was 3 September with a particularly brilliant vet who recommended a second opinion for procedure he needs.

Atrocious

Less than one star......Absolutely appalled with the treatment received at pdsa Hendon.. called at 9am as an emergency because my dog was having breathing problems, was given a 4pm appointment, and then not seen on time, when she was seen they said she's hurt her back disregarding her breathing problems, and sent us away with some painkillers, 4 days later we phoned back as another emergency as she was getting worse, without doing any tests in a cold manner they suggested that we have her put to sleep, when we didn't want that they sent us away with heart meds and diuretics, for us to later find out no problem with her heart..they said to come back in a couple of weeks, but by 1 week she had lost a stone in weight so we went back again.. for them to give us steroids on top of the other meds.. they kept saying we don't do the relevant tests you should go to a proper vet if you want that ,we still advise you to put her to sleep.. we did go to a proper vets that did tests and said no heart problems stop the meds..said she needed oxygen therapy and to contact pdsa for that, phoned pdsa as an emergency and they said we want files from your vet then we will call you back, they didnt call till 2pm the next day after my vet sent files at 9.30 am the previous day...so then went back to pdsa they wanted to keep her in to do xrays. But before we left her again it was suggested.."we can either do these xrays or end it now because we dont think shes going to make it" When they called us to explain ,we asked if they would forward info onto our vets as a .atter of emergency, to which she rudely and abruptly replied "listen if theres any trust issues going on here, then I suggest this is not the vets for you, are you taking her straight to thecother vet? As your dog is not likely to survive the night. " we went to pick up our dog , the dog was handed to me and nothing said..I had to ask if I should be continuing the medication, she said hold on ill have to go ask.. she then came back to say to cary on with the steroids only, we asked what's going to happen now to which she replied I'm sorry there's nothing else we can do.. I thought this was a training hospital and as such shouldn't they welcome the opportunity to compare notes with proper vets.. please dont trust these people with your loved ones .. They may be a charity but what good is discounted treatment if the treatment is either next to useless, or misdiagnosed

Thank you from me and all my pets who have used the service provided.

I never had issues with PDSA, it's a great service and always helpful when explaining the process of recommended treatments. My rat Meatloaf had an emergency and they saw me within an hour and the staff of Sheffield, Attercliffe were really kind to me in such a stressful circumstances. Had an appointment the next day, then had a check up a week later. He had another as he started to not be well again and as usual, he was treated well and with respect. Over lockdown my Nera (dog) had to have an operation and frequent visits, she is quite timid of the vet but they were absolutely lovely, kind and patient with her. The wait times can be a bit long if busy but that is understandable. Thank you for the help you provide to me and others who can't afford the rising costs of vets for our pets in need.

Fab vet practice Highly recommend

Fab vet practice. Been taking my pets here for many years now and always a pleasure and great outcome. Sometimes the wait can be a bit longer than I’d like, but hey, it’s cheap and (free for one pet) and I always have the best care for my pets.

Extremely disappointed with my…

Updated review as the PDSA have reported my review for naming the individuals who intentionally showed a lack of empathy and professionalism on our last visit!! I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at PDSA Aston. I was left waiting for over an hour as the male admin staff member on the desk; failed to check me in. He was free when I arrived but chose to ignore me and make a phone call instead of helping. I’m heavily pregnant, and this lack of consideration was appalling. During the wait, my dog Cookie urinated in the waiting area. When I mentioned it to the same member of staff, he simply pointed to a mop, offering no further assistance. Thankfully, a kind vet noticed my struggle and helped clean up, but the damage was done. When the male admin staff member finally offered me assistance he was very abrupt when asking if I would be making a voluntary donation. I said I would pay a donation after my pet had been seen. I believe this is why he failed to check us in. The man was very ignorant and standoffish to say the least. The worst part came when I went to pay for Cookie’s medication. The female staff member; who was dispensing medication, asked again if I’d be making a donation. I explained I couldn’t due to the poor service, and she proceeded to lecture me about how the vets rely on donations, then rudely pointed out I hadn’t donated since February. I was shocked by her passive-aggressive attitude and complete lack of professionalism. I paid for my dog’s medication and left the vets. The customer service skills of both members of staff were appalling to say the least. I made a formal complaint regarding my experience on the 10/09/2025. To date 15/09/2025 I have had no response or follow up on the formal complaint I left. The only correspondence I’ve had is a notification from Trustpilot informing me that the PDSA have reported my review and want the names of the staff members who I felt were incompetent, rude and unprofessional removed.

Great PDSA experience

Our relatives cat had been injured. We took the cat to PDSA in Edmonton. We were met at the counter by Julian. He was highly amusing and seemed to know every customer that walked through the door. We were summoned into the examination room where a vet named Annie Mura looked at the cat. She was very attentive and treated the cat with the upmost sensitivity. She was very informative and helpful. All in all a great experience.

Just thought I would leave an extra…

Just thought I would leave an extra review for the eventually received flea treatment. IT DOESn't WORK. Our dog now has more fleas than when we began treatment. Utterly useless. It is fraud to sell a product that does not do what is advertised. Terrible 'charity'. Vet for her Monday. To PDSA: Yes, thank you for your patronising reply. This was the THIRD treatment having tried Frontline Plus and ITCH. However, the others worked at least temporarily, yours did not at all. And yes, I have hoovered, washed, pulled up rugs and sprayed. So thanks for the useless advise and please go boil your head.

This is a charity so please donate a decent amount as they need donations to exist and help People

The emergency line is easy to use . It’s trying to get a pet in like my Lillie with skin itching using the other line it is very difficult and if you miss the phone call you have to re apply all over again. She’s still not been seen .That is frustrating as is having to check every day re if list open for spaying as I missed this too . Thanks D

PDSA croydon are just simply amazing

PDSA croydon are just simply amazing, my dog suffers with epilepsy every time I’ve had to make a visit due to cluster seizures the receptionist have kept me calm reassured me the best they could do. The vets are just amazing people, the support and advice let alone the care they provide is something else. I honestly could not thank PDSA enough. I don’t know what I would do without them!

The PDSA have a hard job

The PDSA have a hard job, I couldn't do what they do, I am unemployed and struggle with the cost of things, but with the PDSA my cat's can be well treated with the same care and others can afford and I'm not treated as a lesser person. Thank you PDSA. XXX

The vet was knowledgeable

The vet was knowledgeable, friendly and not scared at all by my larger than average size of my dog. She listened, asking questions and or confirming that she understood my dogs health and my worries, including how long had it been going on, previous relevant medical history. She did a great examination, noting the places I was worried about and put my mind at ease with her plan of action, including meditation and booked a check up appointment. Making sure I knew what she would be looking for and why. Future choices and a longer term plan. Very positive and pleased someone understood what I was saying and no it’s not just down to his age. Thank you

Thank you,

I have been to PDSA vet for many years, and they are very kind and have helped with my dog Sky's treatment and I am very grateful to have them, they are the only ones I go to, I am also grateful to have my friend/neighbour Karel to take me and Sky to the PDSA to support me when I need it !
