O&O softwareand helpdesk is worse.

I have used O&O software for years, bought several programs and also pay a monthly fee for the Powerpack version. The last two months the programs are bad, some functions do not work. I have contacted the helpdesk several times but they say that the problem is with me. Disk Image, Auto Backup and Safe Erase do not work well at all anymore. It is the worst service from a helpdesk that I have had and I am disappointed after being a customer for years. You do not get money back, and they do not provide good solutions. Never buy anything here again, because the problem is always with you and not with them.

Purchased a license and it says I have activated it on too many computers even though I didn't. Also I'm not able to contact support because I have to fill in a valid license number? I have purchased the item at an official seller, how can it not be valid?

A wasted experince

I used their clean wipe program on a file to try and keep it from returning over and over. My Computer shut down, upon reboot it goes to start windows, the edge of the screen blinks twice and and it loads a licensing agreement for O&O. Choosing the I do not agree option reboots the pc which only brins you back to this same agreement , choosing the agree or choosing nothing and clicking on ok takes you to the next screen. This is to test you your screen resolution. then here we are with 3 options command prompt, O&O disk image, or O&O disk image to go. I tried everything but could get no where. I reset my bios, changed my memory stick and bam the problem was gone. Upon shutting down my pc and rebooting here it is all again, this time I tried everything again but when I tried to enter the bios settings it said my video card was damaged. Now I am left with a pile of junk that must now be professionally repaired, everything I tried of their programs failed to complete and I paid $70.00 US for this I installed it on 3 PCs and so far removed it but from the one that is now dead. their lucky I wasn't able to give them a zero. EaseUS was much easier to use and cost half as much for a product that truly worked. I am ashamed at their lack of support and that they hijacked my pc.

Famous Defrag software

I bought their famous Defrag software and although I was happy with my purchase, a couple of things I very much dislike. - First of all, the software has no dark mode. Yes, the software that is supposed to run for HOURS, has no dark theme. Its mostly white. - Second, it does not know how to handle some files. Files that are being active written to or are being downloaded. Defrag just gets stuck at trying to move them, never actually completing them with 0% CPU usage. So you have to force kill the defragmentation software. That makes you worry about your data and system stability. - Next, their defragmentation modes are strange. Their names make no sense so I always kept looking up their definitions on their websites. They are: STEALTH, SPACE, COMPLETE/Name(or Access or Modified), SOLID/Complete(or Quick). They dont include simple descriptions of them in the software, you have to go to their website. So I click on my 1TB HDD and I click start. Fragmentation was 32%. By default it started SPACE. It had about 60GB free space. I left the machine running and returned like an hour later. The defragmentation was done. The fragmentation went from 32% to 36% .... I was confused. It failed at its basic task. Mind you I have no files bigger than 10GB. Apparently the default defrag mode is useless for me. This drive is used mainly for games so it should have all sorts of files. How is the user supposed to know that this mode does not care about big files? You provide no description in the software and the basic mode does almost nothing. How did it even increase the fragmentation? If I only want to defragment the fragmented files, which mode do I use? Also, your website describes these modes and their performance. The problem is they are separated into Solid, Stealth, Space and Complete-Methods. Where the heck does 'Solid/Complete' belong then? Why name it that way? - Lastly, their pricing model is awful for regular people. At the time of this review I had version 24. It costs 30€ to buy a license and its endless, except its only for version 24. They decide to slightly improve the software and bump up the version so you cant receive it as an upgrade and that makes your version obsolete. You have to pay 30€ for another version in order to received the updates. The thing is, THEY decide when to bump up the version, there is no guarantee you get years of updates. They nicely offer you the upgrade in your current version and tell you to pay for it. It's pretty lame to find out two months after your purchase that your version is obsolete and you need to pay another 30€ to get new features. I get that they need income for improving software but why not provide updates a couple of months from the day of purchase? So you get updates until you reach lets say 18months and then you can only use the version that was available at the time or pay the fee again to extend it for another 18months? I dislike this pricing model greatly. Im uninstalling this tool, since it has issue that wont be resolved unless I pay another 30€. I do want to thank this company for making many great free tools like ShutUp10++ or RegEditor that are very useful. I also own DiskImage tool from them but I havent used it much(although I should be making more backups). It however uses the same pricing model.
