NFCU goes out of their way to be helpful to it's customers. They are far and away the best banking institution I've been associated with.

It took.twi.months to process my equity loan because the roofing company I started with wouldn't submit a bid for the work they were to do..I had to change companies to get the loan back on track. My processor was very helpful along the way, keeping me informed and up to date The reason I couldn't give the process all stars was she never told me I would have to pay my contractor myself up front! The money for the job was put into an escrow account and I thought he would be paid from that account. When I asked, I was told I had to pay everything myself, submit a completed work order and then Navy Federal would release the money to ME! This came as a total and unexpected surprise! I was not prepared financially to do this and had to borrow money from a friend to pay my contractor. Why this wasn't explained in the beginning is a mystery to me.

It was the most stress free and pleasant experience with the Navy Federal representative. The respect and appreciation was very appreciated. I loved the ease of the whole process. Professional yet personable was such a breath of fresh air! Thank You!

The assigned loan officer provided timely and clear communications about the overall HELOC process. This effort continued as we embarked on the various steps to complete the loan application. During the initial step we discovered an IT issue that prevented me from directly accessing my key Home Squad Portal from my normal NFCU account access. A work around was established via direct communications with an NFCU IT staff member to solve the problem. The loan officer and I then used this technique to successfully move ahead to complete the loan application.

NFCU has lower rate compared to other finance company for auto loan. Also, the application and approval was easy and quick.

I can’t get over how easy it was to apply for, get approved for and pick up the check. I have never had a bad experience with navy federal, they are always very polite and helpful, I can’t say enough positive about this credit union !

Very difficult to contact agent, digital download system very poor, and what should have been a 4 week process actually took 4 months! Very unhappy with this process.

Bank that I refinanced from with navy federal had an additional 7-10 day wait period since a bank didn’t submit the check for a 10 day pay off. Navy federal wouldn’t stand up on my side even though the check was from them since it was their “policy” to send it to the member. It was 85 dollars but they wouldn’t even stand up for a member. Being a member has it’s benefits for sure…

The mortgage rate drops 1 business day before closing and it would create extra task to update paperworks. A processor in my mortgage application informed me about the rate drop the moment she knows about it. She took extra initiative to assist me, and I truly appreciate that a lot!
