Great people to work with A+++
I don’t know what to say other than both the products and the customer service have been A++ every time I’ve ordered. Super highly recommended!!!
The Midwest Grow Kits Company has provided me with excellent, affordable products and great customer service. I was looking for a complete mushroom growing method with all the necessary equipment and a “fool proof” method to grow mushrooms. The preloaded, sterilized substrate jars and included accessories in the Mega Mushroom Grow & Incubation Kit, as well as the detailed printed instructions and links to online tutorials, makes it all easy. I had additional questions and concerns regarding the grow kit and products and the customer email support answered all my concerns promptly. I highly recommend Midwest Grow Kit Company to anyone!
Excellent responsiveness and product. Shipped quickly. The staff was very helpful in answering questions.
I ordered the Mega Kit and the jars worked Perfectly!! 3 awesome flushes out of one set of jars. I'm a newbie and I had to call their 800 number a couple of times. I spoke with Luke and Emily and both were very knowledgeable and helped me right away. Will be ordering the Grain jars next!
Choose the right spore company!!! I want to share my recent experience with MidwestGrowKits, but buyer beware on getting good spores these days. I always use Mushrooms.com (the old Hawkeye Spores) and never had an issue. I decided this time to buy 1 syringe from Sporeworks.com based on lots of good reviews. I had one old syringe left from 9 months ago from Mushrooms.com. I ordered 2 bags of Rye and 2 bags of 5grain spawn bags from Midwest. They arrived super fast and I injected both sets of bags the same day under the same sterile conditions and to make it fair I used one Rye and 1 5grain bag per syringe. Both bags from Sporeworks turned to wet mush after 10 days, smelled like sour garbage and both bags from Mushrooms.com (same strain) are doing great. I first wanted to blame Midwest, which others told me it was bad bags, but doing more research I’ve talked to many others that have experienced bacteria slime after using spores from Sporeworks. I can’t understand how night and day difference the bags are... I want to apologize for my initial review, I have repeated this twice now and can’t get over why I got no growth from Sporeworks. Maybe a bad syringe? I don’t know. All I can say is be careful with bacteria ridden syringes. I also heard that all these spore companies are super busy and I think much more are being sent out contaminated than prior years. Thanks Midwest for all your help and I apologize for bugging you guys so much! Awesome bags and grain Jars!
Upsetting to leave a crappy review but i have to be honest. I started out with Midwest and it was going good... no issues. Then I started getting bags that weren’t sealed all the way.... they were quick to replace and take care of which I thought was awesome. Then I started getting bags that looked wet and even looked like bacteria. Started smelling within a week. They replaced and it happened again and again. All my other bags were great with no issues except for mid west’s. They would try and work it out but kept sending me crappy bags. Then this last time they just started not speaking to me anymore. Sucks because I feel like they were struggling possibly due to virus but had to send old grains. I’ve never took the time to leave a bad review but.... take your money elsewhere. I’ve had no issues since switching out on them.
I’m 50/50 now with MidWest after being a customer of 3 years. Their products, prices, and instructions offered are pretty good snd easy enough to follow if you can read. My issue after ordering two separate kits now is they seem to be dancing a fine line between false advertising and straight up lying. My first “Mega” kit said it was designed for 30 jars. That couldn’t be further from the truth. The provided tote can hold twenty at most fruiting jars. Wasted money on 20 jars due to lie or false advertising? Not to mention kit comes with the worst excuse for a thermometer/hygrometer imaginable. The next kit I bought was “Deluxe Spawn Bag” kit. Third instruction on very first page of provided instructions talks about taking the “extra lid” and setting another mono tub since kit cones with two separate tubs. No extra lid? MidWest sent one lid with a two tote kit? It’s small stuff like this that is really starting to irk me with MidWest. Don’t get me wrong, the items they send are legit, but I think their instructions and ads are more than misleading on what you receive.
Super fast shipping! I wanted to share my experience. I know people only use this site to post negative reviews but I am a first time grower and decided to go with the Deluxe Spawn bag kit, I ordered on 11/3 and received my kit 4 days later!! I inoculated spawn bags next day and they are 80% colonized in less than 3 weeks! I emailed a few questions and they replied within 24 hours, the videos and guides are fantastic. If you are on the fence about buying all the stuff yourself or trying to decide where to start, this place has not let down in any way! It was hard to see exactly what equipment I was going to get with my kit but when I unboxed it, all brand name equipment and everything worked like it should. I also received a stainless steel 200W aquarium heater which is like $30 on Amazon. I love these guys!!
This company is a JOKE! Over ten days and still nothing! No one can tell me nothing. Tracking is terrible and can even get a decent response. I will NEVER use this company again! And the kicker is I only ordered one thing and you cant even get that right. Turned a fun hobby into a total CHORE! Thanks for nothing!
I want to thank everyone at Midwest for my success in this hobby. I may be responsible for tying up the phone lines with all my questions but I am so grateful for the amazing customer service and the jars and spawn bags I’ve used have never failed me. I’ve placed 5 orders so far and will be a lifetime customer. They literally walked me through a custom setup I had been given and helped me with everything from injecting spores to drying my mushrooms. Cant say enough good things and really an honest company that wants you to succeed!
You can count on these guys to do you right! They ship really fast and everything is always fresh! And they're always there for help if you need it. My #1 peeps right here!
They were so very helpful when it comes customer service and I love there products. This is a reliable company. I would recommend buying from!!
Usually when you get a kit you can start right away Not hear you have to buy the spores separate
Sent defective products, and didn't respond to emails. I ordered 3 UV sterilizing lights. They turned on, but immediately turned off again. I emailed: 7/12 with a shipping question - no response 7/18 because 2/3 products I ordered arrived defective - no response 7/27 to follow up on defective product - no response 7/29 to follow up on defective product - no response After this email, I managed to get someone on the phone. (I tried calling other times. After approx 4 minutes of hold music, their system drops the call.) I was told they would send replacements. On 7/30, the third UV light began to fail in the exact same way. I emailed again, this time including a video, and asked for a refund rather than replacements. No response. I found a second customer service number that allowed me to leave a message, but I got no response to that either. After two more dropped calls, I finally got through to a customer service agent. She insisted the replacements had already been sent, but did not provide a tracking number. The agent I spoke to was rude when I asked why my emails were not responded to. I have ordered from this company in the past and had reasonably good experiences. Unfortunately, knowing they are a nightmare to deal with if something goes wrong, I will not be ordering from them again.
I have gotten in contact with this company to let them know I did not receive their product. Did not hear back from them for 2 days then they responded with it says usps has put it on your porch. I contact them back that very day minutes later letting them know that I didn’t receive the package despite what it said and they contact me again 2 days later stating that they can’t do anything until I get case number. They should have kept their promise because I kept mine. I paid for this package and didn’t receive what they promise but they don’t want to the leg work to make this right! This is why you go on amazon and you have a company to back up their costumers and they do the led work to make things right. I never got a confirmation from this company nor a tracking number so I didn’t know exactly when this package is coming. Horrible customer service and now I’m out of $50. WARNING: DO NOT BUT FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY DONT STAND BY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ONCE THE PRODUCT LEAVES THEIR STORE ITS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND YOUR PACKAGE OF YOU DONT RECEIVE IT!
I don't trust this company because of the way they handle their onsite reviews. In my opinion they are very dishonest because they don't publish negative reviews. I know because I spent a couple a hundred dollrs on their website and gave an honest 1 star review and they never put them on their website. After looking through their entire product line I found the same type of ratings, no bad reviews. This is review fraud in my opinion. They are deceiving would be customers with a phony review setup.
Great Product!!!! Fast Shipping!!!!
