Review summary

Learning People garners a generally positive reception, with many reviewers praising the excellent support and user-friendly learning resources. Customers frequently highlight the warm and friendly staff, noting that they feel well-supported throughout their learning journey. The ease of joining and the availability of assistance for inquiries are also frequently mentioned as strong points. However, some consumers express dissatisfaction with communication issues and concerns about course content and placement promises, indicating that the marketing may not align with the actual offerings. A few negative reviews mention outdated materials and a lack of follow-through on commitments. Overall, while many find value in the learning experience, there are notable concerns that potential customers should consider.

Pros & cons... In my opinion there are more cons than pros to this company.

It's difficult to know exactly where to start as I want to ensure I give an honest and fair review. I don't usually review these types of things but I have had some mild frustrations so far. So I enrolled into doing 4 courses in July 2023 which include Prince 2 Project Management Foundation and practitioner, and also I enrolled into Agile Foundation and APM. For context I am a self-employed business owner who scales companies and I was looking to learn more about project management so I could potentially look at inserting them into the businesses I work with, as well as that I also was looking to do it as a potential fallback just in case things didn't work out in business for whatever reason. So to start with I spoke via phone to enquire into project management. At first I was looking to just learn about PMP but the representative convinced me that the 4 courses I ended up enrolling in were the way to go. If Im honest I have grown to have some frustrations over my conversations with the representative because when we spoke I was curious how easy it would be to apply the project management courses I learn into a business I insert myself into, he said it would transition over easily. I feel this was a distortion of the truth just to get the sale, because after completing my practitioner and foundation Prince 2 and since moving onto agile I really do not see how it is possible to take the concepts and apply them to a business unless that business has a full team that has a full understanding of these project management methods and how to use them. After completing two courses and working on the third currently I do not see in any way shape or form how it is possible to apply this knowledge into a business without the above requirements. Having worked with multiple businesses I haven't yet come across one that has actually used these methods. Therefore I feel like a lot of time and money has been wasted based on this one distortion of reality and I now find myself completing the courses simply because I paid for them, rather because I want to do them or because I think they will help me. My second frustration has come from the fact that I asked on average how long the courses would take. Before moving onto this point I want to make clear that I am well aware that we all have our different learning paces and the length of time it takes us to digest information will differ. After my conversation with Sam, I was of the opinion that finishing the courses within the year I have would be fairly straightforward given I have the time to put into them (which I of course made sure I did have the time before deciding whether to undertake it or not) After 8 months I now have half of the courses left and Im not certain I will be able to complete them all within the given time frame. I think I was told that foundation on average takes 20 hours to complete and practitioner 40 hours to complete, after adding up the time I spent on these courses I found that to pass these I spent upwards of 200 hours altogether on the courses, a significant amount more than the time specified. Now again, Im aware we all learn at different paces but after being in a WhatsApp group with other students like myself it seems that I'm not alone. It turns out there are many students that have found the courses overwhelming and taking significantly more time than was specified when they spoke to the course consultants... So this leads me to the (invalidated) opinion that learning people know exactly what they are doing. Because you have a year in total to finish all the courses I feel they may do this on purpose so that at the end of the year you have to purchase extra time to complete them in order to squeeze out more money from their customers. Although I do have to be clear this is merely an observation rather than fact, so do take this with a pinch of salt. I'm just going based on the data I have accumulated from mine and other people's experiences. So overall the course has been rather frustrating. But another downfall is I feel the courses aren't up to scratch either. They happen to be very robotic and difficult to learn from, each course has a variety of avatars that are there to teach you, but a lot of it is an overwhelm of information rather than chunking down processable information. In addition to this the activities have no huge benefit to them. For example in Agile I'm finding that if you get a question wrong it just tells you that you are wrong, it doesn't say why, which in my opinion is ridiculous when you are trying to learn. I do have to say though the course does have some pros too, such as... Career advice is a nice touch The live calls are very useful But overall in summary, if you are set on a career in PM it could be a good course for you... otherwise be sure to do your due diligence. Hopefully this is useful.

The learning experience

The learning experience thus far has been truly great, the learning people have top class assistance that has helped me till I passed the PMP exams, worthy of note is the fact that the teaching and even the mock exams are way above the standard of the real APM PFQ exams, this was an advantage to for me when I say for the exams, and I had 19 minutes to spare having answered all 60 questions in the exams. I will highly recommend anyone who desires to pass the PMP exams to get on board without any hesitation. Thank you Learning people, thank you Alex Plummer, I am glad I took a chance to join.

Project Management is all about People's Management

After Graduating from University, this was my first certification. Getting to study after a lapse of years was very hard but the certification itself was a motivation to me. Using the right materials to study provided by the Learning People was a bonus and this way I was able to attain my certification. Great stuff and would like to thanks the learning people team as they were frequently checking on my progress, guided me on how to use LinkedIn platform and get myself noticed by employers for future career opportunities and it did worked. The exam was not easy as questions are based on situational basis but learning the methods of PMP certification is a better approach rather than memorising.

Beyond my expectations

They helped me pass and attain my 4 certificates. I went from 0 knowledge of IT to passing the COMPTIA A+, Network+, Security+ and CySA+. They helped me pass all these exams first time so I’m really grateful for them. The content was enough to pass and the exam prep really helped.

I recently had a conversation Neil Johnson from Learning People and i could not have had a better experience. Neil was understanding, supportive and patient. Being able to resonate with him on a business and personal level was also really good. Despite me not going ahead with the courses I was interested in, he was very mature and understanding of my final decision. I will definitely be recommending the Learning People and Neil Johnson to those who are wishing for a change in career.

Took advantage of a young boy with a sick mother

Very disappointing course my son took part with it with high expectations, they offered nothing close to how their sales man preached. On top of this they try make him pay for a course he used for about 5 hours in total. And scammed him out of a lot of money which he doesn’t have. Not only is it basically self learning. You are spreading misinformation and taking advantage of people I’ve read and been in contact with many people around the country with similar experiences. Your ridiculous taking advantage of a young child. Also they succeed in plunging into deep depression with the constant calls and pressure. Aswell as that they took thousands from a boy who simply doesn’t have it. Also lied to him saying it was a full tutored service which it is not. Breach of contract and Unconscionability with deceptive terms. On top of this his mother is very sick, and they keep bombarding such a young boy it is sickening.

Disappointed in this course

Disappointed in this course. Joined initially with high expectations and was given false information from the beginning. When asking them to change the payment card, they still used another family members card to take it outstanding payments when permission was denied and the card was switched. No understanding and lack of support throughout.
