    Horrendous Customer Service

    Ordered some cone wrenches online. Received some handle bar grip instead! Have logged issue with Halfords, and they asked for photo evidence of what I had incorrectly received, which I provided. Nearly two weeks later still waiting for a reply or response. I ring up everyday and speak to the South African call centre. They always tell me there is nothing they can do to help because it’s with another department, but they can’t put me through to that department! There is absolutely nothing I can do which is massively frustrating. I have paid for these wrenches, but they sent me the wrong product, and they’re making no attempt to resolve or communicate with me!

    Unreliable delivery, bad customer service

    Don't rely on the delivery dates or order tracking. I bought three bike components with 'delivery on or before Thursday 12th June'. One turned up on the 11th; for the other two the 12th came and went, then several more days passed with no update or notification. Online order tracking continued to show delivery on the 12th despite it being Sunday 15th. In the end I bought the product elsewhere, so tried to cancel the order through Live Chat. Was told it wasn't possible and I should just refuse the delivery, which is fine except couriers never hang around long enough for you to get to the door. Item eventually arrived on 16th, now trying to arrange a collection or get a returns label printed but all the Live Chat agents will tell me is that my case has been 'escalated' and they can't help further. So I either have to spend an hour returning the item to my nearest store or spend the same time battling with customer services. Not sure I'd bother ordering again.

    Will not return…

    I visited the dewsbury store on June 4th as I needed engine oil with a warning light on my car. I thought Halfords would be the best choice as they would be knowledgeable however when I arrived the member of staff couldn’t find the oil that was suggested for my registration number, he advised I order the correct one and there no alternative available to me. I made payment and the system froze so he advised I return in 2 days for my order and sent me away with no receipt. When I returned a different advisor was agitated as he said I should have been told not to collect until after 12, I told him I couldn’t come back and would wait for him to find my order and this pissed him off. He spent 20 minutes in the back and then told me he couldn’t find my order! He said it wouldn’t be ready until Tuesday, Which would be have been 6 days since ordering. I explained what happened and he and another member of staff then kept telling me the order had not gone through and my money would go back into my account. They eventually gave me some oil as I showed my bank but it wasn’t the one I ordered and when I questioned the compatibility with my vehicle he said this was an alternative! They made me feel like they was doing me a favour and was adamant the money would go back into my account, low and behold two weeks have passed and the money has not been returned. I wouldn’t trust going back here again I was wrong to think they were reputable.

    Rubbish Incompetent Unprofessional…

    Rubbish Incompetent Unprofessional Pretend trained mechanics. Booked in car for Aircon check - they refilled gas but didn’t check for gas leak - guess what, yes gas leak and Aircon still not working! Rebooked again and repeat of same but this time they said - sorry you need to book it into our service department , they can do diagnostic inspection and then repair it. But, I booked and took it into the service department , left it with them for three hours only to be told that they can’t fix gas leak or any problems, as they know diddly squat about Aircon systems! Three wasted visits - if you have any technical issues “Don’t Bother Going To Halfords” !! Changing a fuse or lightbulb is probably the most complicated thing they are able to undertake - sadly 😡

    Frustrating Experience with tool Order

    Frustrating Experience with Modular Tool Order – Still Unresolved After 17 Days I placed an order on 1st June for several modular tray tools to be collected from Halfords Stockton on 2nd June, with the exception of one item (the Advanced EV 1000V Insulated 6 Piece Screwdriver Set), which was due for collection on 7th June. Before collection, I received an email stating that the 10 Piece Screwdriver Set had been cancelled. This was puzzling, as it’s a stock item in most stores, and a quick online check confirmed availability. Despite this, I collected the rest of the items on 2nd June. A staff member also found the cancellation strange and advised me to return the next day. I did so and was able to collect the 10 Piece Screwdriver Set that had supposedly been cancelled. On 7th June, I returned to collect the 6 Piece Screwdriver Set but was told it hadn’t arrived and would be in by Monday. I came back a week later and was told the same thing. On Monday 16th June, I returned once again, only to be told the item still hadn’t arrived. The next day, Tuesday 17th June, I contacted Halfords Customer Services, who phoned the store and told me the item was now ready to collect. However, when I went in again, this turned out to be false – it still wasn’t available. Seventeen days after placing the order and ten days past the stated collection date, I’m still without the Advanced EV 1000V Insulated 6 Piece Screwdriver Set. No one at Halfords seems to know what’s going on. I’ve wasted a lot of time chasing this up and found the whole experience extremely frustrating. Items ordered: • 4 Piece Plier Set • 10 Piece Screwdriver Set • 7 Piece T-Handle Hex Set • 3 Piece Adjustable Wrench Set • 12 Piece Flexhead Ratchet Spanner Set • Advanced EV 1000V Insulated 6 Piece Screwdriver Set (still not received)

    Non delivery no refund

    I ordered two items online about 50 minutes apart on 5 June. One turned up next day, the other never did. I ring Halfrauds every other day or so and have to explain this again and again to different people and I never get updates. Today 17 June I had to ask 5 times to make a complaint after a refund requested last week never occurred. I expect they will keep my money and hope I go away. Halfrauds gets a one star dog poo rating as you can’t put in a lower one. Total rubbish.

    Use a local garage…as recommended by staff

    Awful, will never use again. We booked a rear brake bulb fit on our Vauxhall Corsa. I arrive and my details went onto a checklist. I was told it would be a 5-10 minute wait. 45 minutes later someone came and got me and looked at the car. Opened the boot and , “nah we can’t do that, it’s a garage job, can get a refund inside”. What? 45 minutes wasted. You advertise all the services you do, take our money before we even arrive, to then be told you cannot do the job, even having our reg. Time wasters, will always use a garage from now on…as recommended by your staff.

    Went to buy tin of graphite grease

    Went to buy tin of graphite grease. Couldnt find any grease, asked a young assistant who asked what grease was, I suggested it was a lubricant used in a grease gun but he looked lost. Another assistant found a few tins of GP grease on an otherwise empty bottom shelf. Not what I wanted. Have previously found it difficult to get help in this shop.

    Woeful customer service - not worth the hassle

    On June 10th I purchased a prepedalled bike for my Son’s birthday, unfortunately when I got it home the tyres were completely different (front chunky and back regular). I called your customer services line and on Thursday 12th I received a call from ‘Dee’ who said she was a store manager at Cribbs and to bring the bike back in so they could swap the back tyre and give us a free accessory for the inconvenience. We took the bike back to store as instructed on Sunday 15th June which was my Son’s actual birthday, this wasn’t ideal but we had no other day available and he was excited to pick an accessory. When we took the bike in and explained to the bike dept store assistant he apologised and said it would take about 15mins for the team to switch the tyre. He then came back and told me unfortunately they didn’t have the tyre in store but only online which he was unable to order as it was a customer order only item. He said I was welcome to speak to his Manager. I waited for his Manager (Dan) who I explained all this too. I’m not sure if Dan was having a bad day but quite honestly he was one of the rudest people I’ve ever had the misfortune of speaking to. Immediately he was confrontational and told me whoever I’d spoken to on the phone shouldn’t have promised this, I told him it was a lady called ‘Dee’ and he said ‘Oh well he’s only worked here a couple of weeks’ I corrected him and said it was a lady and he said ‘oh you must have been dealing with someone in the call centre’, again I corrected him and repeated that Dee said she was a store Manager at Cribbs. He dismissed this and said he ‘didn’t see what the problem was anyway’ and that if I checked your website it states that tyres can be different on prepedalled bikes (I’ve since checked this and it’s not correct), particularly as it was the back wheel that had obviously been replaced as it was brand new. I asked if he could refund me the cost of the replacement tyre so I could order it myself and he said no, if I was unhappy I could raise a complaint. I asked if there was anything he could do, particularly given that we’d come down to store on my Son’s birthday and he said no, he just wasn’t willing to help at all and was really rude. At this point I just wanted to leave so I asked for a refund, he stomped to the till desk and declared ‘well I don’t even know what I’m refunding here’ so I gave him my receipt and he processed the refund. We left the store with no bike.

    Booking: A067B068591 Newcastle (Byker) NE6 1JX

    I had wheel alignment on march 2025, 3 months ago, However the issue reappeared showing they did not do their job properly so I backed again for wheel alignment, so I had an appointment at 9:30am on (16/06/2025) for wheel alignment at half ford Byker NE6 1JX, dropped my car 9:15am, 15 minutes before and they said we will call you to come to pick up your car when its ready. I went shopping and back home pass the half ford around the 11am I saw that 2 of them were standing outside the garage and having cigarettes and laughing and chat together. I would ask the managers if they check out the CCTV they will definitely find that 2 of them having cigarettes and fun, meantime my car parked cross the garage but they did not care So having not heard from them, I decided to ring them (2:35 pm) and asked them is my car ready, They said there is no guarantee that they will do it this afternoon, if you don't want it come and collect your car and when I asked him it’s not fair to treat customer like this and I need my car, he said do not shout at me and hang up the phone. so I called back again, I said I did not shout only, I asked you give me the time when my car is ready and he said we cannot do it this afternoon comeback another time after leaving my car for 8 hours at half ford in Byker. Finally I went after 4pm and picked my car and took it to somewhere else for wheel alignment. Do not take your car to this garage as you see quality of their service if dreadful by the recent 1 stars reviews such as on Trustpiolt, as you can see from other customers reviews, The staff are negligent in incompetent are their jobs. Their so called “customer service” is also appalling with the incapability to solve issues and hang up on customers including me showing the lack of professionalism. So I plead you to not use their service so that you don’t waste your time with mediocre service.

    Wasted 2 days for a home delivery from…

    Wasted 2 days for a home delivery from halfords via dhl courier...and still no parcel..spent 3 hours over 3 days on calls to halfords complaints and still not had one call back or email. Even though high priority. Have canceled my order and still not had email confirmation of my refund . Do not use home delivery from halfords if they send by dhl .

    Customers who purchase bikes in store are dealt with in an inferior way when compared to online customers

    I am left feeling like I am a second class customer because I chose to purchase my bike at the chingford store using cash. The earliest date I was given to collect my built bike, which was ordered on the 9th of June, was the 17th of June. This is in excess of one week for the sale to be completed. If I was to have ordered the same bike online, the order would have been completed in 3 days. If I was to order the bike online today the 16th of June, I'm been told I can collect it today. So the bike I have ordered is at the store and has been at the store for several days, but for reasons unclear to me, I'm still waiting for my order to be completed. Clearly something is not right with how Halford deals with their in store bike purchases. Are they likely to change? I guess not.

    Disgraceful, Unprofessional, and Non-existent Bike 'Service'

    I needed 1 spoke replacing on my ebike. I followed all of your instructions on your website and booked a free bike check for the following morning at your Lewes Road Brighton store. After a 5mile journey the next morning, I was greeted by a member of staff who told me they can't check my bike as I didn't buy it there. I thought I saw on your website that you didn't have to buy it there to have it looked at. He couldnt show me anywhere on the website where it states this. I told him all I wanted was one spoke replacing on which he said the 'Spoke Technician' quit and they don't have anyone else. He did call a member of the bike department who came down just said they can't fix it turned around and walked off, ignoring me completely. How unprofessional. A total waste of My time and a great look for your company. Safe to say I won't be coming there again!

    Faraday Pouches That Don’t Work

    I purchased two faraday pouches from Halfords on the recommendation on a motoring organisation, sad to say they do not work so we’re a complete waste of money. Yes they were not expensive but I did expect them to afford some help, clearly not! I will letting everyone I know about this it is disgusting and putting people vehicles at risk!

    Regarding Withdrawal of Dash Cam Fitting Service

    I'm writing to express my disappointment with the recent change in your dash cam fitting service. On 29 June 2024, I purchased a dash cam from your Gallows Corner store in Romford. A key factor in my decision to buy from Halfords, specifically your store, was the assurance given by a sales assistant that fitting services were available in your garage, although I would need to book an appointment. However, when I recently attempted to book this service, I was informed by your customer service team that your store no longer offers dash cam fitting. This contradicts the information I was given at the point of sale and has left me in a difficult position, as I relied on the availability of this service when making my purchase. The expectation of professional fitting was a crucial part of my buying experience and, frankly, a selling point for your store. The sudden withdrawal of this service, without any prior notification or alternative solution being offered, is unacceptable. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter thoroughly. I am seeking a resolution that addresses the inconvenience and misleading information I received. This could include, but is not limited to, arranging for the fitting service to be honoured as originally advised, or providing a suitable alternative solution.

    I would recommend battery replacement and fitting from Halfords Burnley

    I visited. The Halfords store at Anchor Retail Park in Burnley today as the battery on my Ford Kuga was failing to hold a charge . Great the battery was in stock and I opted for on site fitting. The battery isn’t straight forward on my 2019 Kuga as it’s located quite far back and the air filter housing has to be removed. I really thought these guys are going to struggle. Two of the Halfords team Leroy and Joe got stuck in. They were totally professional and knew exactly what to remove to access and remove the battery using the correct tools for the job . I was quite impressed and although I do have some mechanical knowledge and have changed countless batteries on other vehicles I wouldn’t have attempted this on my vehicle alone. Once the new battery was secured,the battery was coded through the OBD port on my vehicle. The guys delivered excellent customer service throughout and I would definitely recommend Halfords at Anchor Retail Park . Thank you ☺️
