Grounded Footwear Reviews

I ordered a pair of grounded boots today. after paying with a credit card, I didn't receive an email notifying me of my order or an authorization number. I emailed them with the email provided on their site and my email came back stating there was no such email. I called the customer service number which told me to leave a message and they will return my call. Hmmm.

I absolutely love these shoes. I honestly thought I'd hate them. I am so glad I bought them. They are so comfortable. I do not have any foot pain. they feel like I am walking on a cloud. I will write a more detailed review after a month or two to see if I notice any other significant changes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

ABLE FOR SENDING IT. IN THE MEAN TIME , I AM STUCK IN THE MIDDLE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE SHIPPING FEES ON SENDING IT BACK.I HAVE DECIDED TO SELL THEM ON LINE AND NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH GROUNDED FOOTWEAR AGAIN. I WILL TELL EVERYONE I MEET ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE

I have read some bad reviews on Grounded Footwear. Some of what is said about the quality MAY be true, as they do not appear to be a robust manufacture. Time will tell with the shoes I have. Keep this in mind: they market them as minimalist shoes and that is EXACTLY what they are. If you are expecting something different, then purchase another shoe of this type elsewhere. You won’t find anything better in this category of shoe. Remember what it is you are purchasing. It’s not a hiking shoe! I ordered the size I always wear. They were too small. I needed a half size larger. Perhaps this is because I have wide feet. I contacted customer support via email and the technician, Mike, was very responsive. After a few emails clarifying everything, he said I should keep the shoes I have and donate them - and I will do that for a family member or friend - and he will send a new pair, 1/2 size larger, free of charge. Thank you, Mike and Grounded! You won my loyalty. I feel like the bottom of my feet are receiving a gentle massage as I walk. They are very comfortable, like I am walking without shoes but with all the protection I need on the soles of my feet. When won’t I wear them? - on a Rocky Mountain trail - unless I was 25 years-old again and my feet and joints could withstand that - in cold weather, ice and snow (I live in New England) - walking on the dirt road I live on - probably not in rainy weather, but maybe I would if it was a warm day and I wasn’t concerned about getting wet (they surely will dry out quickly) There may be other places or times I wouldn’t wear them. I DO wear them in the house all the time (sublime comfort), doing light yard work, walking around town and shopping, and at the office. I suggest you seriously consider where you will be using them and purchase accordingly. For me, they have been an amazing relief for these 60 year-old active feet.

Grounded footwear is not for people with flat feet or fallen arches or for walking on gravel roads or trails. It was a testing hike and was the most uncomfortable walk. I felt every sharp rock I stepped on.

I ordered a pair of shoes from Grounded Footwear in early October, and the laced had not been encapsulated in the black end as one lace was. I thought, "This will be easy with an honest company, but maybe I am not dealing with an honest company. They offered to send me a new pair, and I agreed. The next email was telling me that they were taking 17% off the $79.99 shoes, and I could keep the damaged pair. That is not what was offered or what I agreed to on Order #226700.

these shoes smell horrible. the smell doesn't go away. major petrochemicals. the return process isn't cool at all. you will pay shipping both ways. very costly just to try on a pair of shoes and have to return them. To them, it doesn't matter why you are returning them, it is your cost. It does not state this when you purchase them. sketchy.

I read a couple of reviews from other sites that stated these were good shoes. However, the following morning I read more unbiased reviews. I emailed to ask for a refund. Although my order showed as “processing”, as it was less than 12 hours after purchasing them, they told me they had already shipped. As someone else mentioned, after several emails, with many attempts to lower the price, I got nowhere. I called because their website did not show as shipped either. I was told the shoes had already left the warehouse. I would receive an email soon with the tracking number. I could return them after emailing them AGAIN to tell them I want to return them, and I would get a refund when they arrived back to them. I wish Amazon Prime shipped as quickly as this company. 🙄

They do not take back any shoes unless you have your USPS tracking number. They will not send back the shoes or refund your money even if you sent all of your information in the box when you sent back the shoes & the shoes are ugly. DO NOT BUY!!!! Scam, fraud, cheaters.

Shoes came in and they are not GREAT! Say there is a 30-day guarantee but reviews I read (and you would think I should know better to read after I GET the product) say you won't get your money back. I have found Synoshi and other companies that make their products look great online have all kinds of ways to not refund. Synoshi makes you send the items back to GERMANY when they are shipped from the Northeast! So, let's all quit ordering these gimmicky things and stick with verifiable companies who actually answer their phones!

The picture of the shoes is not accurate, the will not stand up, they are cloth and worthless and then when you send them back they drag it out and then say you have to have a tracking number to get a refund which is impossible so it's a scam.

This will be a detailed review comparing them to Xero shoes and Altra running shoes, both of which are similar barefoot shoes, though Altras have some padding for distance runners. Grounded Footwear shoes fail on every possible front while still technically qualifying as barefoot shoes. 1. Quality: Downright cheap. Shiny plastic film quality of build. Feels like a cheap pair of slippers and while the size forms to your foot, it twists and slips at every movement. The lace is a cheap bungee, so you can rest assured it will come loose in a hurry. 2. Form: The toe box is wide, but the center and heel are narrow, and the toe pads are ridiculous. Place a thin sheet of cardboard under your foot, cut it so thing that you have to carefully balance on it, and place small pebbles under each toe to further throw off your balance. That is the Grounded Footwear experience. 3. Utility: I prefer to life barefoot, but the gym understandably does not allow this, so I use barefoot shoes. Using these for squats is a recipe for injury. I was struggling to maintain my balance and form as I had to focus more on the awful shoe design than on my form. The flat shape is fine, but it is far too thin on the bottom with far too flimsy a material around it to keep it beneath your feet. You will wind up half off the thin support and angled off of your own shoes. 4. Comparison: I have used Xero shoes for over a year now for this same purpose, and Altras for running. Their toe box is wider than Grounded, the front does not have that absurd bump under each toe, and the overall base pad of the shoe is wide enough that you do not slip off of it. 5. Conclusion: Sum total, this fails to be a viable shoe for any purpose. This is a safety hazard and an embarrassment, they should all be ashamed. Oh, and you can't return them once opened, so enjoy contributing to cheap plastic waste. No wonder there's no option to leave a review on their website.
