    Windows

    Having been let down by another well known double glazing company in Hull we called EYG to give us a quote for the remaining work that needed doing. Daryl the sales man was very straight forward and we were more than happy with the quote which hasn’t left us out of pocket.

    Dont fall for their false 'teaser' quotes.

    Bad experience with this company, one of three companies I invited round to give quotes for 7 replacement windows. Martin attended in March and measured all windows; he gave a quote which was competitive and similar to the other two. He made no mention of the lack of lintels above each of the four upstairs windows, which was clearly apparent as they were identifed by the other companies. I accepted the quote in good faith, and signed an initial contract. A surveyor was arranged and Simon arrived some weeks later. He immediately identified that four 'steels' were required above the upstairs windows and said that the cost would now be increased by over £900. I refused to pay anymore than agreed initially at which point he called EYG and told me we could get away with only three steels with an increased cost of over £700. Again I refused to pay anything further. I asked EYG to clarify the position and John Waugh, Domestic Sales and Marketing Director got involved. Four days later I got a text stating the installation team would contact me shortly. Still no new quote had been written or communicated to me, so I called EYG myself to be told the additional cost of £700 plus was still live on the contract. I immediately cancelled the contract and got my deposit back within 7 days. A happy ending though, I have received a more professional and fair response from local firm JF Bodmans & Sons in Doncaster who charged much less to negate the lack of lintels. I am awaiting an installaion date from them.

    Don’t ever give them your phone number.

    My Aunt gave EYG her telephone number 20 years ago as she was trying to get out of a garden centre and they ring her every couple of weeks and won’t take no for a answer it has been stressing her out so much as she is 93 now and they bully her into making an appointment and then I have to phone and cancel it and each time they promise me to take her off the data base so the last time this happened she was so distraught at the thought of this stranger coming to see her that I had to threaten to call the police but of course in the trying to sort this all out I had to give them my telephone number so now I am on the blooming data base and today when the “sales rep” rang and I told him it wasn’t on that they keep ringing me he hung up on me so I rang him back and he denied talking to me and hung up again so I rang again and again he hung up and then the manager rang and I let rip. I am actually considering on keep cold calling them. Don’t touch this company.

    Don't trust them

    I wasn't going to bother writing a review about the terrible service I received from this company however after reluctantly giving them a second chance to come round for a conservatory quote, the salesman didn't even bother to turn up for the appointment, no phone call to let us know. The original quote was for all our windows and front door. Salesman came round, eventually gave us a price which we haggled on some more, finally signing a contract to do the lot for just over 7K. However about a month later another salesman called to inform us there had been a mistake which meant we had to pay another £500. As the contracts had already been signed and agreed upon I refused to pay anymore. We had it all done by someone else in the end.

    Knowledgeable Sales Manager

    Matthew came out to see us for a rear extension, he is the sales manager at Newark. He was so polite,knowledgeable,and put some ideas to us. He wasn’t at all pushy and we felt very relaxed with him. We are not going to go ahead with it at the moment but the quality of the products looked first class. If we do go ahead in the future this is the company we would use.

    Great consultation experience

    We had a lovely salesman called Daryl visit for a discovery consultation for an extension and a new front door. He was open and honest throughout and spent a lot of time getting the design we were after and offered us various options to suit our budget. We hadn't been able to proceed with the project at the time and, although he was here to sell, we didn't feel pressured at all. Once we are able to take the project on again, we'll absolutely be contacting EYG and Daryl to re-quote. I'd recommend anyone looking to get an extension to put them on the list to get a quote as the higher-end option. They are a trustworthy local company to consider.

    Worst sales experience I've ever encountered

    I've just had a sales man out to give me a quote for a few doors and I found him bizarre, rude and to be honest I felt really uncomfortable throughout the whole appointment. He was patronising, condescending, didn't introduce himself (after a crap joke about him being from tv licensing) at the door and instead let himself in and despite me saying I didn't want to play 'guess the price' he continued. He also walked away with the quote on a pad and paper so even if I was willing to go with EYG, I wouldn't feel confident that it would still be available to me after he left. I knew exactly what I wanted in the design of the front door but he tried to convince me of his preference instead and then made some rude comments about the decor in the house we have just bought (and as I told him, are planning to renovate). Just a really crappy sales style and an unpleasant visit.

    We had bi fold doors fitted back in…

    We had bi fold doors fitted back in 2017 , unfortunately from then till now, we have had two small issues, but one phone call to the service department and they had an engineer attend within two days. Absolutely fantastic service would highly recommend the company and The after sale service

    Anyone requiring Georgian type windows…

    Anyone requiring Georgian type windows avoid this firm. What we were not warned when ordering a full house of replacement windows is the fact that you also get for your money white shards of plastic sitting on the black inner lining between the glass . Apparently this is acceptable if not visible from 2 metres !!! Every window is irritating when looking out .Very disappointed and very poor after service. Had fingers well and truly burned with EYG .

    Replacement windows and doors

    Just had new windows and doors fitted. A first class job completed by Michael and Matthew from Newark depot. Two of the most pleasant fitters you could ever meet and a credit to EYG. Everything was done on time they kept the workplace tidy and the interuption to an absolute minimum. The quality of the finished product is excellent. Well done to all involved.

    All started so well

    All started so well, everyone turned up when they said they would, were professional and courteous. Then the fitters turned up to fit my 2 windows in my flat. They were great too, but they realised the windows were too small. Cut a long story short, the measurements were wrong. I'm still waiting for my windows and was told they'll get back to me. Update 12/12/23 windows fitted by EYG, lovely job so Im now happy

    Expert fitting of excellent product.

    We've just had our house windows and doors replaced by EYG. An excellent job by the two fitters, Paul and Shaun, first class. We've had a lot of work done on the house in the last couple of years and EYG/Paul/Shaun have been stand-out the best amongst them.

    Ordered an extension to be built and…

    Ordered an extension to be built and agreed the price. Paid a deposit, survey was carried out and that’s when it started the alarm bells. Although we sat in a larger extension at the showroom in Scarborough, the surveyor said we couldn’t have the one we ordered because it was too big. Even though the one in Scarborough was bigger. So he changed the design and that increased the price. We were not in a position to pay any more for the extension so asked to cancel. This cost us £700. Not happy. Communication was poor and was told there would be a charge for the survey etc but wow £700 for there mistake in our eyes as we ordered a smaller version of what is at the Scarborough showroom, to be told our smaller extension is too big 😂

    Substandard installation lousy customer service

    Eyg installed the windows and bifold doors on my brand new foxglove home in Hornsea . Both myself and other neighbours have defects with the windows and getting eyg to come back to fix these is a nightmare . Defects include missing weep hole trims , faulty handles , handles difficult to open , scratches and glue inside double glazed units etc etc . Been once and failed to sort half of the items . Promised that they would come back asap and still waiting . Shocking customer service wouldn’t recommend eyg to anyone. Further to your response other customers have complained through foxglove . I’ve stood with the site manager customer care and construction manager and all say that they don’t get calls returned and struggle to get eyg back to problems . I went back to social media because you said you would be back asap to rectify other items . You have had fitters on site on at least two occasions since that date but they didn’t come here . By your own admission you didn’t snag this plot on Completion either . I suggest if you are a loss as to what to do then you attend and put things right and stop making excuses that don’t represent the true facts For the record foxglove have email records of the complaints and photographic evidence of double glazed units with the damage inside the units themselves not post installation .

    Patio doors and front and back doors

    Right from the beginning working with Scott on the planning, we had friendly, prompt and efficient service. Thanks to Dean for a clean, tidy, hardworking and efficient installation service. We had problems with glue on the doors, windows and handles, plus a crack in the window. Neil was round to check them prompt the next morning, couldn't ask for a better service! The problems were because of the manufacturer, not EYG. EYG rectified the situation quickly and satisfactorily. The doors look amazing and have been a great asset to look of the house as well as the heating bills. I would highly recommend EYG and definitely use them again because we could not fault their efficiency, politeness and professionalism with such a caring and personal touch. Thanks very much, Fiona and Jim Kerr

    EYG has recently completed our extension. We are delighted. The manager has always responded quickly and thoroughly to all our questions. The teams working on our house were very experienced and professional. They arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. We have enjoyed their company. They were very helful in explaining their work and answering our questions. We have no hesitation in recommending EYG. July 2023

    Excellent service

    Excellent service. Windows fitted within the timeframe advised at the quote stage. Fitters were very helpful and courteous. Would recommend eyg to anyone looking for windows and doors.

    Excellent experience.

    While it took a while to get the initial survey done. The installation completed today was very clean and efficient. DEAN is very friendly, tidy and again efficient. Great experience and we recommend to everyone.

    Conservatory roof

    Had my conservatory roof replaced from old polycarbonate to new thermal opaque panels. Really happy. Looks like a new build. Workers John and John are the dream team. Left everything pristine. Well done EYG

    All new windows and doors

    I had detailed quote done done by Allan who was very thorough and talked me through everything. Andy and Josh arrived in good time, on the date as agreed. They carried the work out to a really good standard and were polite and cheerful. They cleaned uo after they had finished and i am really happy with how it looks. Keep up the good work guys!
