My daughter learning very good now

Staff are friendly and keep you updated. It’s been difficult having several tutors and at times seems like candidates on job trials.

Having started with them recently, their aim is not to encourage kids to learn and to make it fun with any incentives. It's basically just an extension of school but with the added disappointment of being forced to attend. There is no urge to provide a fun learning environment for the kids, plus some of the staff can be quite condescending and put off the kids with their attitude. Learning is top priority of course but they even lack in that area and it definitely feels like it's just business for them.

Their assessments aren’t very accurate. Enrolled my daughter into their online programme at the start of her Year-5. She had one online class every week. The tutor was supportive and covered the concepts well. I had a 5 min session with the tutor at the end of each class so I could support her as and when needed. They did a reasonable job of covering the content. Unfortunately, my daughter wasn’t able to obtain the score needed for Grammar school. I think their online portal, practice material and assessments require a lot of improvement. Though she did lots of questions for practice, I wasn’t able to see how well she was doing on each topic. They do have some graphs and figures to show how a child is doing but I didn’t find those very useful (they mainly lacked detail). I think the mock tests and practice questions were a bit too easy compared to the real ones and not quite representative of the actual exam. The first time I realised this was when my daughter took a mock exam by another company. This was about two months before the actual exam. After this, I tried my best to assist her myself but she didn’t do too well on the exam. Her score on the actual exam was more closer to what she got on the 3rd party mock test. Although, preparing the for the 11+ exam has helped my daughter improve in year 6, it wasn’t helpful in passing the exam. I get the feeling that their system is designed to keep students into their system until the end. I understand they have a business to run and are in it for profit. However, as an educational business they also have a responsibility to have clear and transparent assessment methods in place so parents can make informed decisions to either step in earlier and help their kids or switch to other tutors if they feel that Explore Learning isn’t working for them.

Our child has been enrolled in the English and Math classes at Explore Learning in Kingston for over a year. But we had to cancel our membership due to a clash with after-school activities. We brought our child for what was supposed to be the final class last month, only to discover that it was not on the system. Despite providing a confirmation email for the rescheduled class issued by Explore Learning, the staff could not locate this record and were unable to arrange the final class. They attributed the issue to our membership cancellation, which is unfair, especially since the system allowed us to reschedule without any warning. The confirmation email we received only added to our confusion and frustration. The staff promised to escalate the issue to the centre manager, but despite our follow-up emails, we have received no feedback. It has now been a month, and it is deeply disappointing that our concerns remain unaddressed, highlighting a serious lapse in customer service. With so many other online education platforms available, this experience has underscored the disadvantages of Explore Learning. Other platforms offer easy access to customer service via WhatsApp, and students can engage with online resources anytime, anywhere. While the fee for the final class is not significant, we want to express our frustration with the service and the system errors at Explore Learning.

Unfortunately had to join and leave in the first month. The system did not work for us, we had multiple challenges logging in, the sessions time was less than advertised, and content not pitched at the right level following advice from the free trial. What actually was the most disappointing was when we raised these issues to get resolved, we had a response back pretty much saying we were accountable for all. We then made the decision to leave. Proceed with caution, a lot of money to part with and not receiving what was advertised, I’d look into other options. As you can see from the reply accountability lies with us. As I said proceed with caution. The system didn’t work for us and we have reliable internet that enables us to work at home with no problem. No offer to compensate the lost time from either system problems or shortened sessions. Not for us.

Barbora is absolutely fantastic with my son. She is dedicated, diligent & has a great rapport with him which has resulted in fantastic progression.

Explore Learning is truly amazing! My daughter really looks forward to her sessions with her tutor and has improved so much and gained confidence.

Explore Learner is a great place for students learn. They enjoy practising what they learnt at school. It’s wonderful that they include GCSE
