    Great service, Park Royal, Joe Costa & D'Angelo

    I had the pleasure of dealing with Joe Costa and D'Angelo at the Park Royal, London branch for two separate van hires in one week. Both were highly courteous, and professional in their conduct and customer service. They are both a credit to the company. Thank you.

    Charged a hidden ‘premium pick up fee’…

    Charged a hidden ‘premium pick up fee’ of almost £100. Raised case and weeks later still not resolved. Then charged a £40 ‘admin fee’ for a fine that I have never received when I had the car. Ridiculous and useless at the same time. It shouldn’t be this hard.

    Booked a vehicle and now nothing shows…

    Booked a vehicle and now nothing shows on the app or website under bookings, contact them several times and nothing done, emailed them 3 times nothing and now stuck on chat waiting for an advisor for the last 30 minutes. As a business customer this is not the service I want or expect, will not be booking again through Europcar.

    Called to have my rental car picked up…

    Called to have my rental car picked up on a Wednesday - ok yes we'll be in touch - 24 hours later no contact. Then 3 phone calls lasting 2 minutes each with promises of conatact the following day - no contact. Two more calls to the depot no answer - so 24 hours after the request no contact and no prospect for another 12 hours as they are closed. I'm out tomorrow they can wait for me and the following day I am away for the weekend. Rubbish service.

    Mis-sold Insurance

    I originally booked the car through booking.com with their total protection package On arrival at the office at BHX I was told the total protection package, wasn't with them and I would only have limited cover, they then told me I should ask for a refund from booking.com, and buy their insurance instead. As I was only on a short stay in the UK, due to fly back to work, I took the agents advice, I had just come off my flight into the UK having been travelling for 12 hours and I didn't want any complications My original car hire cost through booking.com came to £470.41 with the premium insurance (Europcar then charged me a further £508 just for their insurance, which I hadn't realised until I got their invoice) They then took a payment of £800 as a what was described as a security deposit, of which they have taken £708.41 I have contacted their customer service who have told me the £708.41 is the insurance package I signed for Needless to say I'm not impressed in the slightest Still waiting for any kind of security deposit to be refunded

    Awful customer service spoken to Graham…

    Awful customer service spoken to Graham Blackwell on the phone who was a very nasty person who kept putting words in my mouth I’ve not said. Please please someone do something about your customer service. I contacted them to explain that fuel that was supplied in the vehicle was no good as only done 10 minute journey and dropping fuel bars so quick. I’ve raised an official complaint to them. But please avoid this company.

    Terrible company

    Terrible company, take your booking and payment and then when you go to pick up they tell you they have no vehicles. Spent a hour on the phone and they keep putting you on hold.

    Extremely Disappointing Customer Service Experience

    Vehicle Malfunction: The 2nd day of rental the air conditioner malfunctioned, leaking into the engine causing it to smoke and forcing me to stop roadside. The breakdown service took 2 hours to arrive. Poor Customer Support: I spent over 3.5 hours trying to get assistance from Europcar's support channels on what to do with the vehicle. I was repeatedly passed between departments, faced poor communication, and was even given incorrect contact information. Inconvenient Resolution: The only solution offered was for me to make a 5-hour round trip to exchange the vehicle, which I had to arrange on my own initiative. While a replacement vehicle was eventually provided, the process was arduous and disruptive. Europcar failed to acknowledge the significant inconvenience caused or offer any form of compensation for the time lost and plans disrupted. Conclusion: I am deeply dissatisfied with Europcar's lack of accountability and the poor level of customer service received.

    Won’t be using again due to hidden charges

    Won’t be using again. Hired from Manchester airport, had to take bus to get to rental ‘village’ which was a pain. Wish I’d paid for meet and greet as bus took ages to come. No queue at counter and helpful staff, but got stung for ‘premium’ rental location charge after I had returned car which was £40 and hidden in small print. Wasn’t explained openly to me m, suddenly appeared in bank statement- and ridiculous that an off airport location is subject to this. I rent cars regularly around world and this is a new one on me. Just another way to screw money out of you. Not impressed.

    Europcar UK = worst rent-a-car company

    Durch und durch negative Erfahrung Für die nicht ganz günstige Buchung eines Zusatzfahrers (~ 150 GPB) versprach uns die Europcar-Frau am Schalter Edinburgh Airport ein kostenloses Upgrade zum Dank. Ich vertraute ihr, auch da der Eindruck vom Prozedere am Schalter normal erschien und zumindest anfangs positiv war. Ich unterzeichnete den Mietvertrag im Vertrauen auf ihr "Please sign here, here, here and here" hin. Wochen später fiel mir eine hohe Kreditkartenabbuchung von Europcar auf. Das "kostenlose Upgrade" wurde berechnet, wie sich herausstellt. Europcar schaltet auf meine Reklamation hin auf stur. Der Mietvertrag sei unterschreiben, und alles habe so seine Richtigkeit. Das sind übelste Taschenspielertricks. Europcar missbraucht das Vertrauen seiner Kunden schon am Mietwagenschalter. Wieder einige Wochen später eine weitere Abbuchung über 40 GPB. Erst auf mehrfache Nachfragen erfahre ich, es handele sich um eine "Bearbeitungsgebühr für eine Ordnungswidrigkeit, die Sie im Straßenverkehr begangen haben. im anhang finden sie den nachweiss Sie wurden über die Bedingungen informiert und die Rechnung wurde korrekt ausgestellt, eine Korrektur ist in diesem Fall nicht möglich." Die Zahlfrist ist seit zwei Monaten verstrichen und die Angelegenheit hat sicherlich inzwischen Mahnstufe. Wer weiß, ob ich überhaupt noch nach UK einreisen kann ohne Scherereien. EUROPCAR - NEVER EVER AGAIN +++++ Update 23.10.2024: Europcar's Textbaustein-Antwort wörtlich benommen und sie wie vorgeschlagen kontaktiert. Ich erwarte mir ... nichts, aber wer weiß.

    Disappointed with Europcar UK

    Disappointed with Europcar UK I recently had a negative experience with Europcar UK during my visit. I was overcharged and faced poor customer service from Petyo Pernichev in Customer Services. The handling of my rental agreement (156978467) was unprofessional, and the situation has been ongoing for nearly a month. Despite providing evidence to correct the mistake, the reasons for the extra charges kept changing, which was quite shocking. I am reaching out in hopes of receiving feedback on this matter.     Visited the Wolverhampton branch last week after my son arranged for my appointment from looking online. Great selection of new cars, but the price varied a lot more than advertised online and ended up costing me double for 2 days hire!

    threatening my father with ccj

    You are threatening my father with CCJS. This money went out of his account a long time ago. He has tried to contact you and your legal team and never spoken to a person. He has left multiple messages and nobody has contacted him. It's disgusting that you are threatening someone with legal action and that they have had no way to contact you. Someone less capable than my father may just pay you, I'm sure this company does not need to extort people. Please advise how he can speak to a human and get this resolved.

    Rented a car which broke down.

    Rented a car which broke down. The AA restarted the car, after a two-hour delay. I had just filled the car with petrol. The AA advised me not to stop again as they weren't confident the problem was resolved. So, I returned the car with the tank 85% full. I explained this to Europcar Kings X. Europcar wouldn't offer any discount for the problem; and they subsequently charged me for filling the car with fuel. My experience is that this is a business that is very keen to remind customers of their responsibilities, but less keen on acknowledging their own dismal performance. It wouldn't surprise me if KW24 LYV was put back on the road without anyone establishing why it failed to start. Shoddy. Beware.

    Horrible company they charge me for petrol after when I give them full tank back. Always do find some issue and I never received my deposit back. avoid that company

    Awful service

    Awful service Europcar customer service have a complete inability to sort anything out. They also don’t seem to be too bothered about it. They did not allow me to pick up my car as they said I was blocked on their system. They said I had not submitted the right documents. After I proved I had and they agreed they had received it, they were still unable to provide me with the car. Their excuse was head office was closed over the weekend. I was left stranded at the airport as no other car company had an appropriate car.

    Never use Europcar!

    Booked a car to collect from Dublin airport for a business trip. I collected the car from a dark car park (no lighting). The car looked ok on inspection. However, when I returned the car (flood lit with inspection lamps), the man who came to inspect the car asked about 'the accident'. There had been no accident or incident and I could not explain where it had come from. The was very minor, low down on the front bumper and even if I had seen it on inspection it would have been to minor for me to comment. The man was very rude and had no interest in resolving the situation. It is such a shame as I had not used a hire car from an airport before and the car had been really goo. Had I not had such a poor experience returning the car I would have definitely considered this for my next trip. The cost of the repair was apparently >€500. I suspect there was no work carried out and they will pull this stunt with the next customer. I was not the only person having trouble returning my car at the same time. Europcar will be going on our 'bad supplier list' Use Enterprise - their service is excellent!

    Eventually came around

    Edit: After a month of persistent communication, engaging both my credit card issuer and third party booking, I was eventually refunded the difference in cost by Europcar. Having rented cars in many countries over the span of twenty years, I can honestly say this was the worst experience I've faced. I suppose that's lucky in a way, since ultimately I did drive away with a vehicle. Unfortunately it was not the vehicle I had reserved, nor was the price of my reservation honored (50% more expensive). Through a system error regarding one way bookings, my reservation needed to be changed on the spot by the check out staff. This impacted the entire original pricing. I was told that things would be sorted out upon my return, or at worst by the customer service department after billing. Neither of these promises came true. After weeks of waiting for a response from customer service, I am told that despite their system issue with the one way rental, that's just the way things are. The customer is left footing the bill for a failures by the rental company. Prospective renters beware. I do not recommend Europcar.

    Absolutely horrible company who did not…

    Absolutely horrible company who did not provide the right car, charged multiple times on things like car seats, etc at pick up even though it was paid for online already- then 3 weeks later decided to try to charge again! Avoid this company like the plague!

    Appalling service all round

    I booked an advertised Volvo XC40 SUV from Marseille airport and on arrival was offered a Renault Mégane in very poor condition, nearly every panel damaged. I refused it as I needed an SUV for all my family's luggage, baby equipment etc, but was told there were none available. This was not true as there was a Toyota RAV 4 SUV parked right outside. They reluctantly gave it to me and after about 100 kms it broke down. I had to return 100 kms to Marseille to pick up a replacement even though there were other nearer branches. They again tried to offer me a Renault Mégane! After a long argument I was finally given an MG SUV. The counter staff were unbelievably rude and the final cost to me was nearly 40% more than expected. I have been hiring cars at Marseille airport for over 35 years and never had a problem, but I have previously used reputable companies like Avis. Never again, don't touch EuropCar.
