    Arnaque !!

Même expérience que toutes les autres arnaques. Agence de location à éviter absolument, je ne réserverai plus jamais auprès d’Europcar qui cautionne ce genre de pratiques.

DO NOT HIRE FROM EUROPCAR STOCKPORT

DO NOT HIRE FROM EUROPCAR STOCKPORT My car was In for a warranty repair and a replacement was provided by Europcar The car was delivered to the dealership for me to pickup up next day, When I arrived I couldn't start the car due to flat battery, I then had to drive back home in own car (Motobiĺity vehicle). Motobility rang me to inform me that Europcar would not replace the vehicle and that I would have to contact the A/A to arrange a repair or have the car returned to their Stockport branch. Rather than go through a stand off, I contacted the A/A who came out and replaced the battery. I returned next day to pick up the vehicle. I just cannot believe Europcar did not know the battery was faulty before they dropped the car off. I wasted over half a day in time, energy and stress. Avoid this company. I have complained to Europcar via their online customer satisfaction form, with no response to date.

They are a complete waste of time and space. please do not ever use their service. SCAM IS WRITTEN ALL OVER THEIR FACES. THEY LIE, BUSSINESSES THAT WANT GOOD CUSTOMERS DO NOT TREAT PEOPLE THIS WAY.

Do not use Europcar and if you do be…

Do not use Europcar and if you do be prepared to pay over twice the price agreed. I arranged to hire a car before leaving the UK for my holiday in Mexico and when I got there they would not release the car unless I bought a further insurance that doubled the cost of the car. The other people that also did the same as me, trying to collect their car, where also being fleeced by Europcar. I raised this on Facebook and Europcar requested I take this issue off Facebook and they would sort it out for me. If they offer this, do not believe them.. This is all a con. Never use them they are crocked. I tried the customer service who sounded like they would try and help. They asked a lot of questions and then went to sleep. I tried to email them and they just ignored me. I think that customer service is there just to string you out in the hope that you will just go away.

Check all aspects of the car before you drive off!!

Would put no stars if possible! Interesting reading some other reviews, wish we had prior to hiring a car. I always take photos of the car, looking for dents or scratches etc. Have never thought to check rear wiper to make sure rubber blade is there, will from now on. Did the right thing and reported it when took car back, within 24 hours of realising it was missing. Initially all seemed ok, security deposit was returned. 3 and a half weeks later notified us we would be held responsible as it was 'new damage'. Not only did we then get invoiced for the rear wiper arm also, that was not damaged to our knowledge, was in working order, that is how we realised there was no rubber blade. Still in the dispute process and my friend's account used for the security has had a withdrawal for the full invoice without our knowledge it was about to occur. Will never use Europcar and neither will any of our family or friends. We will be sure to let our travel agent know so she doesn't use them either, it was her booking for us.

    Dreadful experience

Dreadful experience. I hired the van for 3 days on a delivery and collection basis. The van was great. The staff were not. They didn't collect the van as agreed and unjustly took additional monies from my account without my knowledge or authorisation. I had to report my card as lost to prevent further payments being taken. Avoid.

    Won’t be going back.

I have rented several times from Europcar in the past 12 months, and had no issues until now. I have been charged £106 (inc £45 admin fee) for a scratch to an alloy that I did not cause. I’ve pleaded my case, and they aren’t interested. They also said that I drove almost 100 miles more than I did (no mileage limit but still incorrect). I guarantee that they won’t be fixing the scratch either as the car had various pre existing dents and scrapes. I won’t be renting from them ever again, which will cost them more than the alleged damage that they’ve charged me for. I should add that the staff at the Aberdeen Airport branch are great, and always very polite and helpful, always go out of their way to help. EDIT: Do not be fooled by Europcar’s response to negative reviews. They do not engage with further emails, and clearly have little interest in resolving any issues.

I have a clean license, good credit rating, do not understand how POOR this company is. I am still waiting for my refund ASAP. Absolutely DISGUSTING! Happy went to ENTERPRISE immediately and hired a Vehicle straight away. No Issues, happy to give Enterprise £50 more for the Rental to boost their business. SCAM SCAM SCAM

SCAM SCAM SCAM, Europcar provided my local dealership with a dirty car as my mobility car was being serviced. When returning the car I filled the petrol tank to the brim until the pump clicked itself off. A week later I recieve a bill saying I only gave them back 3/4 of a tank. Absolute lies. Now they're harassing me for money I do not owe them. Upon further investigation it turns out they are famous for this scam. AVOID AVOID AVOID

GDPR breach, customer service non existent

Absolutely disgraceful service from their customer service and complaints team. I have reported a GDPR breach and they have done nothing about it. They have been sending emails of my invoice and rental agreement to an address that is not mine. Even after I have stated the email is not mine, they then have the audacity to send a "we are still looking at your case" email to the wrong email AGAIN. No response after reporting the GDPR breach has left me to leave this review in the hope that someone of higher authority who knows what they are doing will follow this up. If you are in the UK, use Enterprise or Hertz, far better, far smoother process and none of this rubbish.

    Terrible experience with Europcar

Terrible experience with Europcar, car wasn’t ready on collection, dirty inside and outside, missing fuel cap, maintenance light on dash board, had to call the AA, then received an invoice for £120.00. Customer service made it sound like I made the whole thing up.

Not only the worst car hire company we…

Not only the worst car hire company we have ever used, but the worst company and rudest employees I have ever encounted in my life - and I'm in my 50s. Lied, lied and lied, left us stranded without a car, and call centres that are in every country except the UK that again, and again, and again and again, said they would transfer us to customer service, but either left us on hold (for up to 50 minutes) or just cut us off. Why do they do that? Because customers are given the opportunity to rate customer service at the end of each call if the call end normally - by cutting people off, or by leaving them stranded on hold for nearly an hour so they customer has to put the phone down, the nasty, rude employees don't get poor ratings (and presumably keep their jobs). While I was trying to sort out the horrendous problems in branch, another customer came in, with a walking stick, an elderly man, who was promised someone would deliver his hire car in the morning. When nothing arrived he told me he spent hours and hours trying to call the branch but all calls are routed to Morocco or Bulgaria who refused to put him through. A pensioner, he had no option other than to pay for an emergency taxi at 5pm to the branch to find out why he didn't have a hire care. This is what you will deal with if you use Europcar. Put them out of business... always leave an honest review, or take them to the small claims court if you can. Never, ever, EVER use Europcar.

    Nightmare

Nightmare. Picked up a car at Gatwick south terminal yesterday evening. I paid for an Audi Q5 but when I arrived they offered me some Alfa Romeo instead which is lower than the class I paid for. After about 30 minutes of driving the yellow check engine light comes on. Complete my journey and try to call them but their office is closed. The next day (today) at 8:30am I call customer service who put me through to breakdown who then then put me through to the RAC. Waiting a few hours for them and then get a missed call from them but my phone never rang. Called back Europcar and again got transferred. This time they said they would “deal with it themselves”. Shortly after this I receive a call from the AA. Meet the mechanic and on diagnosis of the issue he tells me the engine light is on because the car is overdue a service! He also advises me to contact europcar and forward on the report. He was a gentleman and very courteous and helpful. I must say. I spend the rest of the day trying to talk to someone who can help. The worst interaction was with a Vladimir. He said that he couldn’t transfer me to Gatwick even though his colleague managed to an hour before. “But did they pick up?” he asked. No. They didn’t. “So see, I can’t transfer because they never answer the phone.” I asked to talk to a supervisor. “I’m not allowed to transfer you to a supervisor” He then said he would send an email to Gatwick and they would reply shortly. His colleague had already sent an email on my behalf several hours previous. I asked him if “shortly” meant by the end of the day but he wouldn’t promise. My interaction with the europcar web of entanglement lasted until 3pm and then the offices were closed. All day I spent on my foreign mobile racking up charges. I didn’t use the car. It’s not the car I wanted. It is overdue a service so I wonder is it even roadworthy…. Did the right thing but they refused to help or engage. I rented the car for 3 days to visit a relative who is ill with cancer. I just wanted a hassle free experience. Instead it was a nightmare. Terrible company. Never again. I shouldn’t have to pay for the day I spent fighting for them to help and not driving thr car. I shouldn’t have to fight for help. Their system appears to be designed to prevent you from getting through to anyone who can help. The first customer service agent should have taken ownership of my problem to begin with. Maybe tomorrow I will get a call. All I want to advice on what to do? I’m not sure the car is even roadworthy.

    I have recently hired 3 cars from…

I have recently hired 3 cars from the Manchester airport branch - initially I arrived on New Year’s Eve to be told there were no cars available. Very quickly a young girl (I didn’t get her name) could see how important the car was to me and found me something. The last 2 times, Gabriel has dealt with me and provided great customer service. I have been very impressed With the service on all three occasions and would recommend Europcar to friends and family.

Avoid, try a professional car rental company.......Can't think of a less professional…

Can't think of a less professional company than Europcar. Unfortunately the 2nd problematic time I've had to use them. First time I get delivered a Kia with a GPF light on dash so it drank fuel. This time taken 3 days to get me a car and because no one listens to you it wasn't appropriate for our needs. Eventually was put into a MGzs ,again too small for what we need but had to take it or we have no transport.. An awful short staffed company with limited vehicles that doesn't answer the phone!

    I was their regular customer

I was their regular customer, but will never use their services again, because after one incident feel like they stole from me. I was using Europcar branch at the London City Airport and rented Fiat 500 on December 18th 2024 for two days. Had no accidents, returned the car safely, only to be told I've made a damage to the front windscreen. A tiny two dots, visible only from close. I'm 100% sure they were there already, but they weren't documented. I did took pictures of the car on the day I've got it, but the problem is that the pictures taken were from the few steps away and although you can see something is there, but if you zoom in, the picture becomes blurry and the damage is not exactly visible. It's so small (like 1mm), you can barely see it from close. So now they've froze my 500£ deposit ant investigating the matter. Investigation is already going for more than a month, no indication when it might end. But even if it did happen, maybe without me noticing, the damage is so minor, you could literally find 50 more scratches this size throughout the vehicle. I mean, it wasn't a new car, to look at a dot and say you'll need what, to replace the screen? And what is there to investigate for a month and ongoing? I'm a single mother working two jobs to survive, these 500£ are very important for me, but the the company doesn't care. Also, I would like to point out the extreme rudeness of the Europcar employee who examined the car upon it's return. She noticed the damage straight away (as if she new where to look) and was acting aggressively towards me. Didn't allow me to take the picture of the tag with her name on it and did not write her name on the Statement of Return report she wrote. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name now, at the moment we spoke I felt under stress, in part because how aggressively she spoke. I will forever regret the day I chose Europcar.

    Shameless and dishonest Europcar!

Shameless and dishonest Europcar! My advise to you all is to stay away from this company. They may appear to be competitively priced to begin with, but by the time you see all the nasty extras and hidden charges is already too late. The Customer Support is also in on the trick and they come back to your substantiated dispute with standard automated answers which don't address the problem. I checked in with a prepaid booking voucher and I was offered three options of cars to choose from, all of similar trim level and of the same category. At no point whatsoever was I told that any of these choice might be an expensive "upgrade". No extra charges were ever mentioned. They just appeared on my credit card one and a half months later. This is apparenlty a common and standard malpractise as I found similar complaints in various forums. I guess their reception staff is so commision-driven that they don't mind bending a few rules by lying and hiding charges. A very dishonest company with no customer orientation and no ethos. I wouldnt normally bother writting a review but then I thought if this helps even one other potential customer falling victim to these crooks then is worth the effort.
