    A great rental car experienceAfter having two disasterous

    After having two disasterous experiences with Sixt and Enterprise, dealing with Europcar was a welcome relief. Firstly the staff are friendly, well turned out in their uniforms and the branch at heathrow was clean and had useful food machines. We were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The whole thing from the beginning, on arrival to driving out in the car took 15 minutes. Fantastic

    Watch out for this Europcar scam.

    Watch out for this Europcar scam. I hired a car in Thailand was NOT the car I paid for and had 130,000 miles on it with as you can imagine quite a bit of damage. However that’s not the worst Eurocar scam to look out for. I have just had money taken out of my account almost 2 months after the hire for an undisclosed reason , my communications and phone calls resulted in them basically telling me it’s not their problem and for me to deal with it so Europcar are saying it’s not Europcars problem you need to speak to Europcar. A total scam and absolutely not willing to help anyone resolve the issue so likely an orchestrated and common occurrence. Best approach would be to not use them and be careful with other car rentals . Que the standard general response below

    This company is a disgrace

    This company is a disgrace. They are hounding me for £40 for admin over a parking ticket which was paid for at Travelodge in Crickelwood in London.we have proof of ticket and hotel stay. They will try and get as much off you with extras as they can get away with. Keep clear of them.

    I hired a car with motability

    I hired a car with Europcar Uk, I filled the car with fuel on Collection and took pictures of petrol gauge and mileage. 2 days later I had £42.00 taken out of my account for 20 gallons of fuel! I contacted Europe car UK and they said it was very unusual that that amount of fuel being charged as from my house to the Depot of Europcar was 34 miles not the mileage of 200 that was calculated and not forgetting the car had a full tank of fuel?. Europcar stated that they had deleted the invoice and they had not taken any money!. My bank have written proof that the money was taken. I have waited and waited for the Manager from Europcar Swansea Branch to contact me. I am now classing this as fraud on my account and my bank are backing me.

    I rented a van as usual

    I rented a van as usual, returned the van full of fuel as normal. It registered as 7-8 full on the car monitor but I spoke to the guy on reception and he said with some of the brands even though it’s full Somtimes it doesn’t register as full even though it is. I then received an invoice for them charging me for missing fuel even though I’d been back to clarify with the guy and have proof of fuel and cctv footage of me filling up as it’s next door to the depot. Disgusting treatment of customers.

    Five stars isn't enough

    Five stars isn't enough. Speaking for the Yeovil branch; not only is the actual hiring of the vehicle effortless, but all of the staff I've dealt with (at least five different faces so far) have been extremely pleasant, super down-to-earth, always up for a good natter about the cars or otherwise. Not a bad bone in that building. Thank you so very much.

    Avoid Europcar unless you want to be…

    Avoid Europcar unless you want to be stitched up after doing the right thing. I hired a car from Europcar Inverness and reported unlisted damage on the same day I collected the vehicle, within their 24-hour grace period. I physically went to their return hut, pointed out the damage to a staff member, and was told it “didn’t matter” because it didn’t affect the paintwork. No paperwork was amended, and I followed their instructions in good faith. Weeks later, I’m being charged for that exact damage — the one I clearly reported. Europcar now claims there’s no record of my report, despite it being made in person, and is proceeding with the damage charge anyway. This feels like a scam, plain and simple. They ignore attempts to follow their own procedures, then turn around and pin the blame on the customer. Disgraceful behaviour from a company that clearly puts profit over honesty.

    Absolutely atrocious service...

    Absolutely atrocious service... I arranged and pre paid for a van hire for 1 day, arrived at the depot at the agreed time all relevant documents and credit card ( in my name ) only to be told they can't hire to me as their system isn't able to identify me at my address ( a soft credit search ) I have hire vehicles from numerous agencies all over the world and have never had this experience. The don't appreciate or care how this will effect the clients reasons for hire. While I appreciate there are always two sides to a story and people only write their version of events but this is actually how i was treated. I appreciate they have to protect their assets but surely a better systems should be in place i this day and age. Never rent from them.

    Second 1star review first issue not progresse…

    Having already put in a 1 star review about trying to access my account to book a car - tgot access once but had issues so logged out and tried to log back in again told details incorrect tried about 6 password reset none worked - got reply from them with a link to send more details. Even when you say it’s pre rental issue it asks for the country . Pick up location and date of booking. Having gone through the pages it gave the following message sorry your request could not be sent retry or call us all I want to do is access my account to book a car

    Horrendous experience from Preston branch

    Don’t use this company if you value your sanity I have spent two days trying to have a car collected as part of the hire arrangement and despite multiple phone calls to the central office as despite trying multiple times there is no answer from the Preston branch Europcar arrive at my property today and walk past their car and post a letter advising the vehicle is now overdue if they had bothered to knock on my door they could of taken the car we unfortunately cannot return the car to them as we are no longer insured to drive it and not one person within the company will help so totally at loss with nowhere to turn the stress is horrendous and I would NOT recommend this company to anyone

    TWOC- money !

    After changing a faulty electric vehicle, and a downgrade, they decided to charge me again for the rental ! I complained to Mr Carlos at customer service, who either can't understand or is trained to not be fair. I have tried to email on the website, but it's faulty! I am still hoping a decent person at the company can look at this and resolve to my satisfaction, otherwise I will be putting my legal hat on I'm afraid! Terrible customer service experience.

    Thieving Europcar rip off

    I hired a car from Europ rip off car for 1 week. I had paid for a full tank of feul in advance with the idea being that what you don't use you get refunded for. I paid £80 and only used about £25 at best. This bunch of thieves then charged me the whole £80 and refused a refund. If possible avoid these thieving vermin and go for a much better car rental company. Which would be every other car rental company in the world.

    Fraudulent company - stay away from Europcar!

    Europcar UK, stop ripping off customers! This company withdraws money from its customers bank accounts without their consent! Report them if you experience the same and if you haven’t booked any “service” with them, refrain from it and ever make any booking with them!

    Daylight robbery (LITERALLY)

    I have been hiring a car for a month with various returns to the branch to extend / return & rehire. I was charged a late fee when I was not late (£54) to then be charged a further £316 from my bank without authorisation when I queried the late charge! My £250 deposit has not been returned yet customer services are ignoring all questions with regards to my deposit. Europcar currently have £621.18 of my money with no care that I have a family to feed and bills to pay. They are currently telling me they are going to refund me £146.83 which is nowhere near the amount they have stolen from me. One mess up on their end has caused a whole string of problems. I have no idea why they thinks it’s acceptable to just take money from accounts for absolutely no reason. I currently still have the hire car but I will not be hiring again after this.

    So many hidden fees

    So many hidden fees! Our 'rental price' was £87. With all the 'taxes' surcharges , feed and packages we were mis-sold, the total came to £377 - outrageous that a company can do this

    Hirer beware!

    Hirer beware! Make sure that you take photos/videos of the car when you pick it up.Unfortunately I didn’t before leaving Knock Airport. When I returned the car after 3 days low mileage trips in Mayo the person inspecting the car drew my attention to a mark on the alloy wheel.Despite my assurance that I had not had any accidents with the car she had to report the 2” mark. I assumed that I would hear no more about it but on my next credit card statement I discovered that without any notification they had deducted €391 to cover the cost of repair. My insurance company asked me to submit an invoice for the repair but Europcar admitted that the wheel would probably not be repaired and that €391 was an estimated cost! WhenI showed a photo of the damage to my local body repairers in Rochdale they estimated €70 as a true cost. Europcar Knock will never again get my custom and I return to Ireland every summer.

    Absolutely horrendous..

    Absolutely horrendous..! Rented a van to move home. Was let down last minute so had to rush around on a Saturday to find another as they close half day..! Europcar do not have a facility to cover the costs for this happening to customers. I had to wait 3-5 working days for my refund so I had to pay out for the other van doubling my costs…!

    When I hired the car at Carcasonne…

    When I hired the car at Carcasonne airport there were no apparent scratches. There was some road dirt on the car when I returned it , due to normal usage. When I returned the car they rubbed the road dirt off the car at two small isolated spots , and pointed to some hardly noticeable marks which I must have missed when I took the car ( as they were extremely difficult to see, even when they were pointed at ) They said I caused them, but I 100% did not as I am ultra ultra careful with my cars , including where I park etc at all times . The minor scratches could have been rubbed out with T cut in 10 minutes, but they have charged me £480 . Firstly I don’t believe I caused the scratches, secondly how did they just go straight to them under the road dirt on just those two isolated locations, thirdly what garage charges such high costs for a T cut type repair. I have hired cars for 50 years and never had any damage, and believe I didn’t on this occasion either. I believe Europcar have some vested interests in inventing these situations, and consequently will never use them again .
