MS Office 2024 MAC - Exercise Caution!!
I purchased the MS Office 2024 MAC version and my experience is as follows: 1. I downloaded and installed the SW from the link sent via email. This wasn’t the 2024 version, but the 2021 version. 2. Chatted online with a support person who said he/she will fix it by sending another email (but also gave just the link on chat without instructions) with the right link and instructions; The email never arrived 3. I somehow managed to install using the link given on the chat 4. When I checked the authenticity of the product key, came to know that this is NOT a single user perpetual licence, but a LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel license) – mainly used by business organizations; Not all software were licenced; One Note for example, wasn’t. 5. I contacted Microsoft Australia about this and was informed that I should not be running this on my Mac; I also found out that no feature updates are provided during the course of support; only security fixes are generally provided for a period of five years; Microsoft assisted me in cleaning up the installed LTSC software and revert back to my single user MS Office 2021 version 6. I was extremely disappointed with the purchase 7. I went back to online chat support for refund and was told that I needed to send an email to support, which I did. I received a response under 24 hours that they would refund the price, which was great news and that’s the reason for giving the four stars; Otherwise, it may have been a 0 or even a -1 8. However, I am disappointed with their product page which shows as if it is a single user licence version whereas it is a LTSC version; Digital Licence must change the product information to reflect the right details 9. So, just be aware of what you are getting and if required find out more from them before buying!!
