Anyone taking out temporary car…

Anyone taking out temporary car insurance when buying a car privately and if Anything happens they will not want to pay out when I first reported the claim they asked have you got the key and v5 I confirmed I did so they came out and took the car away now they’re asking me for proof of purchase bank statements bill’s receipts ect whenever I paid cash for the car £2000 now there just ignoring my emails I didn’t want to claim in the first place because I didn’t want my insurance price to go up if only I knew I’d b treated like this
