CrowdTrust Research · 2026 Edition
The 2026 AI & Machine Learning report
Three years after the consumer ChatGPT moment, the AI buying market has split into two distinct tiers. At the top, a handful of foundation-model providers and well-funded application vendors have stabilised pricing, shipped audit-grade controls, and quietly become line items inside Fortune 500 budgets. Below them, a long tail of "AI-powered" SaaS companies are competing on workflow depth, vertical specialisation, and — increasingly — refund policies for hallucinated outputs.
CrowdTrust's 2026 ranking reflects that split. We weighted recent reviews more heavily than legacy buzz, and surfaced complaints that were structural (billing surprises, accuracy regressions, model deprecations without notice) rather than one-off frustrations. The result is a list that rewards vendors who behaved like infrastructure providers in 2025 — and penalises those who shipped breaking changes faster than their customers could absorb them.
If you are evaluating an AI vendor in 2026, the headline shift is this: capability is no longer the differentiator. Reliability, contract clarity, and human escalation paths now decide renewals — not benchmark scores.
