On Aug 16, 2025, a user (“balmypup”) posted an unsolicited advertisement under my Action Taimanin screenshot, linking their own screenshot from a completely different game. When I pointed out the lack of relevance, they retaliated by filing a false report. Within hours, Steam Support removed my content and issued me a temporary community ban, all on the same day.
On Aug 17, 2025, after I presented evidence that directly contradicted their claims, Steam admitted the ban was excessive. However, instead of acknowledging their mistake, they insisted the screenshot still needed to be blurred, a backtrack that allowed them to avoid taking accountability.
This shows how Steam’s reporting system can be exploited and how Support mishandles legitimate disputes. Reports from bad actors are actioned instantly, while actual rule violations I flagged were ignored. I’ve since removed all my uploaded content from Steam (screenshots, artworks, videos, and workshop mods - they're hosted on my own site and other platforms anyway) to prevent further false reports, and I won’t be spending another cent on Steam platform from now, and I've been on there for a decade since 2014.
