Had a great experience with mint rentals. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Vehicles are good value for money. Clear instructions for airport pickup. I recommend mint.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience. The cars are old, all secondhand import from China. They have high kilometers, and the dashboard and interface are all in Chinese. So when there is an error or warning, you need to speak Chinese or hire a translator, I guess. The first car we got had starting problems. We found out 2 hours after pickup, when we tried to start the car for the first time after pickup. The first response of Mint Car Rentals was that we should just contact road assistance. Only after much protest from us did they send a mechanic. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem. Even though the mechanic said the car is fine and got it started with jumpcables, they problems remained. After 2 more times of not being able to start it (and our takeaway food getting cold because we were stuck in a parkinglot) they finally agreed to give us a different car. But instead of bringing the car to us, we had to drive over 1 hour back to the rental office to pick it up. Instead of an apology for all the inconvenience, the employee told us that we should have actually filled up the gas before exchanging the car. The second car was also old and Chinese. It had one door that didn't lock (we found out by chance, after 3 days), the steering wheel was not aligned, and the tires were completely worn down. Luckily, this one didn't break down during our trip. Update 12th of april 2025 After posting this review here and on Google, we received an email from Mint Car Rentals. In the email, they apologised for the lack of service and offered us a 20% refund of the hire charges, which we accepted.

We got what we paid for
We got what we paid for. The car was more affordable than competitors. However, it also had some typical older vehicle mechanical issues. The sliding doors on the van often got stuck. The key fob only worked intermittently. There was some type of mechanical issue that we could hear in the driver's side front wheel area whenever we went around a corner. These were all issues that we could work around.

Very efficient reasonably priced
Very efficient reasonably priced Easy to contact booked before we left the UK. No problems with the car hire and car itself. Hire was very reasonable We were able to add on 2 extra drivers at no extra cost. I would hire from Mint again..

Cheap and cheerful
Easy to communicate with which we did from the UK. No problems with the car hire and car itself. Hire was cheap and cheerful but perfect for our needs. Only issue was the afterhours collection of the car did not go smoothly. This involved another company so not Mint itself but it was very disappointing after more than a day of travelling to arrive and then have to wait over two hours to collect our car. Other than that we would hire from Mint again.
