Noise Pollution Violates UK Laws

Their new notification policy is a nightmare. I've been with them over a year. Suddenly when they take payment they text notifications overnight eg almost 1am or 7am when everyone is sleeping. Most people keep their phones open overnight eg for emergencies. Nothing gives them the right to wake us up. Email confirmations. Don't text!! I told them last month they had woken me up. I was fuming. They assured me they would turn off notifications. They did not. This month they texted me at 12.40AM!! This is highly unethical and violates UK noise pollution laws. Businesses cannot contact consumers outside reasonable business hours. This means 8am to 11pm.

Adam's support was great

I wish to profusely thank Talk Home staffer Mr Adam who provied excellent support through 'Chat' function on 5 July 2025. This Chat I tried after repeated failing to get anyone, even worse disconnection while trying to speak with Talk Home Mobile team. so their phone does not work but luckily chat worked and more luckily Mr Adam was fantastic. Thank you dear Adam

Very limited roaming & I couldn't receive SMSs abroad

I picked this company for my PAYG SIM because its Penny Pro deal had the best pay-as-you-go prices I've seen, at 1p for 1MB / 1 SMS / 1 minute. I spend a lot of time abroad and only need to use my UK SIM every now and then to receive texts, so it seemed ideal for my needs. However, be warned that Talk Home is not the best company if you need to use your phone outside of the EU, their coverage is very limited. I did not think it was a big deal because I was planning to use an eSIM with a different company for my data needs outside of the EU. But then I arrived in South Korea this week, and needed to receive a OTP code via SMS to log into one of my banks via multi-factor authentication. I turned on roaming and I had signal, but I could not receive any SMSs despite sending the OTP code multiple times, I tried calling my number from another number and that did not go through neither. I called Talk Home Support (from a friend's phone at extra cost, as I couldn't make/receive calls or texts from my Talk Home SIM), who informed me that Talk Home 'did not have any business partners in South Korea' and to manually search for a local network to connect to, which I tried but I could not connect to anyone. It was a big issue because I had an urgent need to log into my UK bank, and in the end I had to call my bank from abroad (from a friend's phone again) to be able to access my account. These calls were a hassle and cost me a lot of money that I had to repay to my friend. So be aware, as cheap as they look, if you need to go outside of the EU, they could cost you more than more established telecoms providers.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My SIM doesn't work, waited 5 days to arrive and no communication of when posted like he says below or delay!! To then find out Data usage has been used yet I cant use the sim from day one. He goes on about I put wrong code in. It was the right code on the sim board. PUK code. Never put it in wrong. Just tried numerous times. It should have worked on first try. Then they ask for sim card number to see if they provided it right. Olivia was the worst. Just kept repeating wait until 28th. Over and over again. She didn't read my messages like she said she had as she'd ask a question to do something yet I told her I had already done that. She doesn't read messages causing me to get angry at her. 29th 6am still hadn't ported. No mention of chasing Vodafone or it's vodafones fault. Not once. And if you read all the reviews below they seem to blame other providers alot for the slow porting! Rings alarm bells it's his company at fault! Smarty. I got sim card next day. Ported in under 24hrs. Go with smarty! He said phone wasn't working due to signal. I've been with EE before and signal amazing. So blaming coverage was them trying to get out of the chat. Why did Olivia say there was no manager and no landline number? Then after arguing with her. She finally gave me a number. A number where you ring and rings and then hangs up? Watchdog are aware now of this data usage that it says I used when the sim didn't work from day one. Also how can they reply to reviews but not my complaint email? Where my full refund? Let's hope watchdog investigate how you can take usage from us when sim in the post!!! Is it so you can charge bolt ons hoping people won't notice the usuage is going up? Go with SMARTY. Such a brilliant service from them and so easy and ported in 24hrs and sim in 24hrs. 1.5 weeks with home talk and still no where but closing account is the easiest and best bit with these guys. I never write reviews. 3 in 42 yrs but these people needed one so you all don't fall for the cheap price! Can you also after cancelling this morning instead of refunding me you've taken another months worth this afternoon out my bank? Two monthly payments in 10 days???? Can someone reply to emails please rather than the reviews!

I just called the customer service regarding my data problem of my SIM card. A staff called Tim just helped me to solve my problem quickly.

Problem solved :)

We had a problem and called the short dial customer support phone number. First of all it was a relief to get through by phone, as our account was showing a £0 balance, and we also didn't have to wait on hold too long. Hassaan took the call and explained what had happened and what to do, and it's fine now. Thanks Hassaan!

Awful

Awful. Took my money, SIM card arrived late. When I used it they said I couldn’t activate the SIM card, but they happily took my money, and I received no service. They refused to refund. Support are also rude.

Terrible service

Paid for sim, didn’t arrive, chased it and got one delivered . Then was told I could not have agreed deal as I had not registered it in time - but this was because it had not arrived Service was terriible
