Sicily by Car

Poor experience with Sicily by Car – unclear process and unexpected damage charges We recently rented a car from Sicily by Car at Catania Airport and had a very disappointing experience. There was no in-person handover or inspection, everything was done digitally. That meant we had no chance to check for existing damage, and no one reviewed the condition of the car with us before we drove off. After dropping off the car early in the morning (around 6:00 AM) by placing the keys in the return box – as instructed – we received a message shortly afterwards claiming that there was new damage to the car, and that we had to pay for it. This was shocking, especially since the damage was likely already there, but we were never given a proper chance to document or contest it. The whole process felt disorganized and misleading. I would not rent from them again.

Very happy with the interaction with this company. The pick-up and return of the car was very fast. The staff was also very friendly. The deposit of only 200 euros was very convenient.

At the registration desk we had great experience with Yaroslav, who was very professional and kind, he explained everything, he gave us even better car, than we ordered. We recommend to have a loot at the car before you start driving and even make a video of the whole car aroud, just in case.

Upphämtning av bilen var smidigt inget tjat om extra försäkringar och rimlig nivå på depositionen dock var det mycket småskador som inte var registrerade på bilen, som jag kände mig tvungen att få noterade. Hade hyrt med envägshyra men under semesterns gång, ändrade det sig så att det skulle varit enklare för oss att lämna bilen på samma station vi hämtade den, samma dag men 15 timmar senare, för det fick jag det generösa förslaget att det skulle gå bra mot en kostnad av 396Euro, herregud vad tror dom, och dessutom skulle jag inte få tillbaka envägsavgiften. Det hade väl varit ok, men priset för 15 timmar extra... Lämnade bilen utanför deras öppettider, inga problem med det och depositionen betalades till baka inom 5 dagar. Så förutom horribla kostnaden för ändring funkade allt bra.
