This was a terrible experience.
At first, I was excited. The product arrived quickly and in gorgeous packaging. I love mushrooms and believe in mushrooms for health and was excited to try it.
The first cup was not only NOT delicious, but it upset my stomach. Like, all day. I tried it again with a bit more of their coconut creamer and a different proportion of "coffee" and it still made my stomach upset. I decided this was not for me.
I was going to just leave it there, but then I received and email saying that they are going to auto-ship my subscription. My what!? I never made and account and definitely never signed up for a subscription. I was curious and just wanted to try it, but that does not mean I am committed to the product!
So, I emailed the Concierge about this issue. Alex responded within a few hours to tell me that I had to create an account in order to stop the shipment or to edit my subscription (which I never signed up for!) He did give me a link that was good for 24 hours to make this easier. Geez, okay. That seemed lame to have to create an account for something that I never signed up for in order to stop it, but fine.
That email came at the end of the day when I was away from my computer. I did not have a chance to get to creating an account that evening. But then, I received another email at 10pm that same night saying that my subscription had shipped. (Oh great. Lucky me. Now I am getting shipped something I asked to not have shipped to me.) I also then woke up to an email from the founders welcoming me back to the Ryze team.
NO! Please no.
I have to appluad them on their communication and packaging, but this sneaky trick to make you subscribe without ever creating an account and then not helping to cancel it just stinks.
Not only was I turned off to the taste of the product, but I am now also turned off to their company practices.
