Richard - ID 5009 turned up to within a few seconds of the expected time given by the app. He got straight to work and identified the problem. Very professional and informative. He did not carry the battery i needed, but he got the vehicle started so i could drive to local garage.

Motability car recovery was a complete shambles, took the RAC going on for a week to recover my car to Kwik Fit local branch, at one point they lost the car then placed it in storage for 4 days, constantly told they were recovering the car from storage when they hadn’t. Without my motability car for a week just because of a simple puncture is not acceptable. Asked for a courtesy car but was refused, missed my holiday because I didn’t have a car, my motability car gives me my independence, without it I have to rely on carers.
RAC setting up trap for customer who is having breakdown urgently and charge for £25 membership cancellation fee!! Relying on each £25 transaction, they are getting huge profit with no cost!! My car breaking down so I go online for membership registration because I need it now! When they ask me when is the commencement day, I was able to choose the same today which is today. After paid for the monthly subscription membership and call for breakdown service, they told me the membership will activate after 24 hours!! It’s a big joke that apparently they are well known that when customers joining the membership, I would say over 80% of the customers are in urgent! Their website even allows me to choose to activate the membership on the same day! During conversation with the RAC staff, they told me I can use the service after 24 hours and otherwise, I have to pay £199 for the surcharge! I told the staff that the website allow me to choose today for activation and he told me…..there’s a disclaimer at the BOTTOM of the page saying activation is after 24 hours!! WHAT A TRAP!! IF YOUR MEMBERSHIP START AFTER 24 HOURS, PLEASE DO NOT LET CUSTOMERS TO CHOOSE THE SAME DAY ACTIVATION!! Now I paid more and get AA service!
We will never use these again, my daughter was stranded for over 5 hours on her own and on a motorway. Now run by AI and third world staff.
Wasn't confident I would get a quick response on a Sunday on one of the hottest days of the year but Stuart (patrol ID 2260) arrived in good time and got me back on the road. He explained clearly what had happened and what I needed to do next. Very satisfied RAC customer!
the field engineer was very helpful and got my vehicle started very quickly so I was very happy. But just because I had not yet registered the vehicle to my account prior to the breakdown I was charged £85 and for that reason I am not happy with the service or the call centre staff.
RAC really are poor these days. I broke down today with a blown front tyre. Not a problem for me normally but the locking wheel nut was defective and ky couldn't be removed woth the removal key. RAC said they can help, but I would have to pay extra. Fair enough but also warned it could be a 6 hour wait. To my suprise the RAC man called and within 60 min he is on site but refuses to help unless I drive the car half a mile down the road to a layby. What's the point of a rescue service with lots of flashy lights that doesn't work anywhere other than a layby. Therfore, I was unable to drive it down the road so the RAC were in fact useless. This is the second time they have let me down. I'll stick woth the AA from now on!
My car failed to start last evening. We were in an internet dead zone. So had to talk to a Bot. It got my name wrong. My address wrong. Failed to report serious health conditions and we were given a time of rescue 11.45pm-2.15am. It was 7.30pm when I called. We were in a beach car park which during light hours was fine. But I wouldn't of wanted to be there into the early hours. Luckily a stranger came to our rescue with tools and knowledge and we were in our way. Shame on you RAC. Appalling service.
Scott theechanic spent about 45 mins to get me going but alas we had to get towed home, but Scott couldn't do anything more
