I made a claim for my cat. It was easy to make the claim and I was kept informed by the company of the process at each stage. The claim was paid with no difficulty for me.

Our Irish Setter - our gorgeous lad, was insured with Purely Pets for many years, until his death aged 10yrs in 2024. Our distress at his passing was only compounded by Purely Pets refusal to accept our final claim which applied to the last month of his life but which naturally reached them after he had passed and the policy had been cancelled due to his death. After much stress this was resolved and the matter closed - or so we thought. That was 2024. We just want to thank Purely Pets for adding to our ongoing heartache by sending me an email yesterday 4th September 2025 - 1 year later, saying: "We are very sorry to hear about the loss of Finn. Please accept our condolences at this difficult time. Thank you for your claim for Finn's veterinary treatment in relation to a heart condition.... we regret that on this occasion, we are unable to complete our assessment as you cancelled the renewal of your policy on 22/07/2025." It literally took my breath away, so thank you for that Purely Pets.
Purely Pets Insurance had a comprehensive range of policies at reasonable prices. The online insurance process was straightforward and was relatively easy to complete. They also provided advice and made the task as simple as possible.
I have been a customer of theirs for many years and multiple dogs. They have never quibbled over payouts, always settle directly with the vets and their customer service is amazing. I lost 3 dogs to advancing years and ill health in under a year and the first thing they said was ‘I’m so sorry for your loss’ most companies don’t even acknowledge this. Recently one of my GSDs needed specialist help for allergies, terrible skin ulcers, gastrointestinal issues etc. Doggy dermatologist and thousands later, again no issues paying out. Was a very stressful situation and the last thing you need it to be arguing with insurance companies. I never have that with Purely Pets. My dog is now very healthy and continuing with ongoing treatment and his skin is cleared. Last injection he had Purely Pets paid out within a week! Amazing service and hope to continue being a customer of theirs for many years
Fortunately I have not had to make a claim but the cover seems good and the price of the policy is lower than most. Have had the policy for some time.
Good cover for money
I'm reading comments and had reassurance that I'd be OK however, recently my dog was diagnosed with a tumour and a cortisol condition so made two claims, they didn't pay out full at all, one was 800 only paid 600.

I haven’t had to make a claim so I cannot comment. Getting the cover was simple however the price hike from last year was eye watering.
We were unimpressed that one operation at the vets was classed as two separate procedures and therefore we had to pay two excess charges. This should be made clearer in the policy. Following this the premium for the following year's insurance was more than doubled.
