Learning with Pairview Limited, Data Science
I am doing Data Science Course, and whilst doing my first 3 modules I met great people taking Data Analytics Course, as well as mine. Everyone I met on my modules have been happy so far, so am I.
I should start with telling you that I have been studying through out my life at very good Universities. I also took private courses like Pairview Limited, too. Although I have not completed my course yet, doing 3 modules through 3 months I have a good opinion.
Before I decided to take the course, I attended one of the introductory events, everyone has been very understandable and patient with all my questions until I made a decision which took several months. From the start, before making the decision, the way they consider your CV details, and guide you in what direction you need to follow, which course would be the most suitable for you, etc.
I read someone writing they wanted her / his money on one of the comments that made me so surprised. No one forced me to take a course or never made me feel like they want my money at all. On the contrary, there are initial 2 step tests to determine your eligibility for any course they are running, and before you pass these tests you are not promised for any courses at all. Besides, I am an extremely difficult person to sell something, and I was constantly asking over a hundred questions for a period of about 6 months. Any other course provider would be irritated and would have wanted to get rid of me I guess. They all have been very patient and understandable, patiently answered all my questions at their best; Bisi, Amita, Ankita, Francesco, Sean, Elodie. Thank you for all your patience with me.
Furthermore, they were fantastic to guide me even with the intervals of my classes, as I have a very demanding job.
Then, I started taking the modules, first was Online Advanced Excel with Micheal Olabode. He is an excellent tutor with his vast knowledge. Yes, the connection can sometimes be not so good, however, the solution is always there for the ones seeking for a solution. Someone complained about connection problems, so this is important to write my experience: We had a connection problem once for a short while, we re-established the connection within a couple of minutes. Another time we could not re-establish the connection. Michael emailed me immediately, and we re-arranged the remaining time of the session for another day. I also created further problems on my end, and he was extremely understandable. I was late for online lessons 3 times because of snow & traffic, he gave me extra time so that I could relax and concentrate on the lecture. He also one day carried on teaching me until 11pm, because I was so behind learning Advanced Excel. I can only praise him for his determination to teach me. I promised him that I will learn properly and will do very well, and I will. After all his efforts, this is the least I can do.
My second module was with Kruti Jain, and she is a natural talent in teaching. I started attending classes in person with SQL. Kruti is an excellent communicator that even someone who has never seen an SQL query, like me, would do very well after her lessons. Kruti fully concentrated on real life cases and we did plenty of exercises. She also gave us further study and links to improve our skills and understanding more in depth, if we want to.
My third module was Tableau with Paul Idowu, again another brilliant tutor. I have never heard of this program nor used it before his lectures. I naturally felt uncomfortable for the first an hour, then absolutely loved using the programme. Paul is an excellent tutor, concentrated on real life queries and real solutions, hands on experience. He also gave us links and websites to further study and improve our skills.
Although I have not completed the programme yet, I can tell that this course is well worth the money I paid. Tutors are always there for you, if you have any questions that you cannot figure out on your own.
I am also very pleased that all the tutors are guiding and encouraging us to learn more, read more, search more, practice more. When / if anything that we are not sure or need answers to, then, email directly our tutor or support email address, we get a response. It is not an 'emergency' support line, -such as calling Police help line :) -, so it may take a couple of days, be patient.
One thing is for sure, as long as you have a good basis for anything you want to do, you are the one responsible to build up on what you initially learn. The good thing is when you need support, it is always there.
I have seen a couple of interesting complaints reading the previous reviews, and believe it is important to write from my experience:
Someone wrote they want your money, this is not correct as I explained at the beginning. I also signed my contract late, -not intentionally-, and they were not running after me, although this is a big risk on their side.
One of the complaints I remember reading is about the tutors' English not being so good. The tutors' English is good, at least all my class mates understood very well.
In real life situations, no one is going to come to you asking you to deliver something with perfect English. We are living in a multi-cultural & multi national globalised world, so get used to it. In many cases, they will not know even what to ask for but expect us to understand what they want, without disclosing the details of their questions, even if their English is good. It is for us to ask further questions and find out what they exactly need, and deliver the work accordingly. This is sometimes what we did in the classes, and worked perfectly well; ask questions, explore possibilities, and deliver accordingly.
Another person complains about not having the software(s) and not being able to have hands on experience. All my classmates and I have down loaded every single software we needed for the modules from the links provided by Pairview Limited. On one occasion, my laptop security settings prevented me to download SQL, and my tutor was kind enough to download it from her external HDD to my laptop.
From my observation, all the tutors also always made sure that there was not one single student was unable to answer a question or unable to do a graph or analysis, etc. Every single one of us was taken care of equally, until they made sure we understood.
The rest is up to each individual. It all depends on if you are ready to take an extra step to built up on what you learn on these courses, as it would be the case of any other courses for 'adults'. It is also important to have good communication skills, and use the provided ways of communication when / if you have questions, rather than complaining. If you express your discomfort with anything that can be helped, they are always there to assist you.
In the end, it is the course providers reputation, and if the discomfort is expressed in a constructive way, they always are ready go an extra step to make it worth while for you. At least, this has been my experience, and I am very happy that I decided to take this course with Pairview Limited. I am always made feel looked after well, and cared for that I must learn and learn very well.
Thank you to the entire team, for excellent and dedicated work.
