I would recommend Liam Kotrie at Mary Monson without hesitation. Professional, intelligent and passionate, he saved my father-in-law from an unjust conviction and saved our family from a lot of heartache. Liam was assigned to my father-in-law as a duty solicitor and brought all of his experience and tenacity to the task. Liam immediately saw that the terms of a court judgement against my father-in-law were unfair and unworkable. He approached the court and convinced them to drop the case before it came to court. We couldn't have asked for better representation and always felt that Liam understood the problems and issues involved in a very difficult case. I would recommend Liam and Mary Monson to anyone.

The service we received for a family member from Mary Monson Solicitors was honestly exceptional. Our family member was assigned a solicitor from a different firm in the first instance, but we didn't believe he would work in the best interest of our family member. Mary Monson Solicitors were recommended to us, and we are so pleased that we chose this firm.
Liam Kotrie and Tom Obrien were never judgemental and spent many hours gathering evidence and advising us what they needed. Tom was constantly in touch with us and was so supportive all the way through the process. We now have the best outcome we could have possibly wished for and can get on with life. Great service, justice was done!
I was maliciously hauled through the legal system in 2021 after sending a text to an ex thanking her for returning my property then returning hers by post.
I contacted Mary Monson after a complete failure by Greater Manchester Police to conduct a proper investigation.
This ex had made numerous absolutely wild accusations yet rather than actually look at any material evidence GMP just blindly believed her. Furthermore when I'd explained to officers at interview exactly what evidence on my phone would prove my innocence and exactly where to find it they totally ignored me and sent a one-sided case to the CPS claiming they were "unaware" of any evidence that would aid the defence (a lie).
GMP seized my phone but at no point actually bothered to look at it.
Mary Monson were very helpful and accommodating from the word go, they were open-minded enough to listen to my whole account (even though at that point I had no material evidence to back it up).
The case was handled by Graham Rishton for whom nothing was too much trouble.
I was eventually able to retrieve all the material evidence needed from iCloud backups and forwarded this to Graham, I often thought I was a nuisance sending info over but he assured me they were there to help.
A true Gentleman.
The police's summary of my interview was so woefully inadequate Mary Monson had to go to the trouble of having the entire interview typed as a transcript and submitted as defence evidence.
When we submitted our material evidence the CPS attempted to block it!
Mary Monson's legal team successfully agued the evidence was vital to the defence and must be heard. The court agreed and the case was adjourned.
At the next hearing the defence successfully exhibited material evidence of my ex in fact bombarding me with abuse and me responding, calmly, wishing her well, thanking her for returning my property.
The police finally returned my phone a month later, having not looked at it once!
Having been through this experience I dread to think how many innocent people get "fitted up" by lazy, ignorant, gender-biased policing and literally couldn't recommend Mary Monson enough for being open-minded from the start and building such a strong defence around the material evidence.
I'm currently looking at legal action against Greater Manchester Police for their incompetence throughout.
