FAKE RESOLUTION IS JUST MARKETING

FAKE RESOLUTION IS JUST MARKETING Save yourself the hassle, never work with this company. So, as you can see, I previously left a review on the 17th January. With that being said you can also see mailchimp gave me an email to contact them on and ‘resolve’ the issue, insinuating a refund. Once again, they have lied and deceived. I imagine this was just a marketing ploy, doesn’t look like that’s going too well for yous here does it. I sent an email, outlining the details of my issue with them. Had a look this morning to see if they’d replied. ‘Your message wasn’t delivered because the recipients email provider rejected it’. In short, they gave me a faulty email address and their response of reconciliation was actually to try and save face, so now I have been once again left no choice but to leave another 1 star review. Save yourself the hassle, never work with this company.

My experience with mail-chimp doesn't…

My experience with mail-chimp doesn't even warrant 1 star. Allowed for suspicious activity to happen on my account (over 3000 subscribers in a mater of minutes) and then charged me an extra £100 for the privilege. Would only credit my account not issue a refund, said they were putting me through to a manager.... still waiting an hour later Additional information: having read previous reviews I had already reached out to the mailing address Mailchimp have provided in their feedback, predicting their response. I have heard nothing back from them.

Ensh*ttification continues.

MailChimp recently lowered the limits of their free user accounts. And now they just did it again. In the words of Darth Vader, MailChimp's philosophy to users is simply to hold you hostage: "I am altering the deal – pray I don't alter it any further". In mid 2025 they lowered the contact limit on free accounts from 2000, to 500. And now in early 2026, they are lowering it again to 250. As a result, I am lowering my review of mailchimp from 5 to 1 stars, and will find a new service.

What a joke!

What a joke! Worst company I have dealt with. Any queries are directed to other departments. You cannot contact them directly. They never respond with any sort of answers. Save your money! Use someone else.

Mailchimp was aantrekkelijk. Was…

Things you CANNOT do on MC cause it blows

Things you CANNOT do on MC Cannot search and email individuals from our list within an email. you have to ALREADY know the emails you want to use and cut and paste them into a segment. Cannot approve external mailing list adds. anyone who gets ahold of your link can join your mailing list without your approval...hope it's not private protected client details, cause anyone can access it. Cannot see who a message was sent to by opening it, only by replicating it and then I have SAVE the duplicate and delete it from the main menu....seriously?? Y’all keep moving the buttons, one minute its out in the open, the next it's on a drop menu, or vice versa, either way, no matter how many hours you put into learning the system, it will be different when you return. Cannot see WHO opened a mailing from the mailing, I have to search each recipient individually and look at their individual history. Also, when “expert" live help can’t fix the problem or doesn’t know, they just disconnect the chat and leave us hanging there as if we are not paying customers …so we are no longer going to BE paying customers. Bye bye.

We approached Mailchimp about SMS marketing(its what they do afterall) they set us up, we sent ourselves a test and the service was useless, we asked them to sort it, they couldn't sort the issues, but they could keep taking our money for a service they couldn't provide. there is no way to talk to anyone of any use. we finally got a small credit back but a drop in the ocean overall .We missed out target offer period and lost potential customers. Negligent Support: 3 Months of API Outages

As VP Engineering for a SaaS provider, I’ve endured 3 months of recurring API outages due to Mailchimp’s firewall. Despite providing detailed logs and Akamai IDs, support has been negligent: Irrelevant Troubleshooting: For a server-to-server API block, support suggests browser fixes like clearing cookies and switching browsers. Circular Logic: Requests for WAF rule criteria are ignored, preventing us from adjusting our code to comply, if at all required. Escalation Failure: They fail to involve Network Security or supervisors, even during a 97% service blackout. SaaS providers beware: Mailchimp’s automated reputation systems will blackhole your traffic, and their support is unequipped to help or escalate to anyone who can. === UPDATE (Jan 9, 2026): Performative PR vs. Private Silence Since posting this review, Mailchimp reached out publicly with a generic invitation to "understand more" by emailing their social reviews team. I responded to that request immediately. The result has been another 48 hours of total silence while our production environment remains in a state of crisis. Mailchimp’s public-facing helpfulness is a performative PR tactic rather than a genuine attempt at resolution. If you are a developer or a business owner, do not be fooled by their "friendly" public responses to negative reviews. Behind the scenes, the technical incompetence and refusal to escalate critical infrastructure failures remain unchanged. We are still waiting for a supervisor or a Security Engineer to provide the resolution we have been requesting for three months. === UPDATE (Jan 12, 2026): Reprieve is not Resolution The latest wave of blocking (Wave #8) subsided on Jan 10 after lasting 60 hours. While traffic is currently flowing, the underlying infrastructure issue remains entirely unresolved, and the risk of a 9th wave is imminent. The disconnect between Mailchimp’s PR and their Engineering is now undeniable: Passive Support: A "Social Review" agent reached out with apologies, claiming they "genuinely care" and are "monitoring" the situation. However, monitoring an outage is not the same as fixing it. Technical Silence: Despite my team providing multiple batches of Akamai Reference IDs on Jan 9 to assist their investigation, the main technical support thread has been silent for four days. Not a single Security Engineer has acknowledged this data or provided a technical update. Refusal to Whitelist: Despite this being the 8th sustained outage since October, Mailchimp still refuses to implement a manual whitelist for our production IP. They are choosing to rely on a demonstrably broken automated system rather than taking manual action to protect a legitimate partner. We are still waiting for a technical Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and a permanent whitelist. Do not let the "polite" social media responses fool you—on a technical level, the negligence continues.

Charged After Cancellation + No Real Support

I canceled my Mailchimp account, but I was still charged on my credit card four months later. I emailed about it immediately, and somehow we were “re-signed up”—then canceled again—but they still didn’t return our money. What makes it worse is their “support” for billing is basically nonexistent. You can’t call anyone for payment issues. You’re forced to fill out a form and then wait while someone might respond in 3–4 days. Meanwhile, they already took your money. This feels scammy and unethical. If you value transparent billing and real customer support, AVOID THEM.
