it gives students unbelievable amounts of stress!!!

Don't do what I did and sign up for this service before reading the reviews. Shonky IXL website charged my card 3 times and never sent log in details to me. Not even a confirmation email I called their helpline during business hours and they just don't answer. I am awaiting their response to my email to refund and cancel my membership.

Every skill is taking too long to do. Some you can finish off in 3-4 minutes but others take up to 20 minutes. They do a bad job explaining how to do things correctly which prevents kids from the opportunity to learn and grow. When you get an answer wrong, the smart score drops at an alarming rate which puts stress on children. Beware.

This app is the worst app of all time. Its so stressful for students like me and others are getting so angry at it, they might aswell destroy their devices. No wonder why this deserves 2 stars, if the people of ixl are reading this, go fck yourselves. You guys just give learning a bad reputation.

This company has got me learning a lot but when you get an incorrect answer, they could do a better job explaining how to do it right.

worst math app i have ever used explanations make absolutely no sense and there no other way to get extra help on the app do not waste your time with this app it is also really boring as well.

The grading system makes no sense. A correct answer adds 1 point but an incorrect one takes away 10. How ridiculous.

This was absolute torture "It was way too long," My friend said. "You have to add subway surfers gameplay to make it less boring." One of my classmates says. I would rather be strapped to medieval torture devices than be on this website for one more second.

We enjoyed IXL to an extent where the kids did get different math problems to practice from. The kids also got a chance to experience how it feels to complete questions under a timed scenario and that was quite interesting to observe. We've definitely felt that IXL was a bit harsh with their grading so we've tried out other options like Beestar. Beestar also has really great math questions and an online math competition that the kids have really enjoyed. We also enjoy how much more relatable the math questions are for the kids.

I was truly SHOCKED when I saw the low rating on ixl. Virtually all of these one stars are in reference to the scoring system. Yes, they make it a little harder and it requires effort to excel, but what do these people want? To be fooled into being rewarded for poor learning abilities? My daughter has been using ixl for over a year and she loves it. She pushes herself hard to get to 100%. In life achievements, there is one fundamental rule. NO pain, NO gain.

Fantastic app. I’m surprised by the negativity in some reviews. Myself and my children absolutely love it. That’s my 4 year old, 11 year old and 12,year old. It’s very straight forward and easy to understand and use. Been using it for around 7 months now and it’s improved their confidence in themselves and their abilities in English and maths. I really am totally shocked at these bad reviews. Had to double check we were reviewing the same thing lol. Everyone learns differently I suppose. Glad I didn’t see these reviews before trying the app as they would of put me right off xx

IXL is terrible. they discourage people when you lose points and its questions aren't really fit for the year. If there was a 0 star review i would use it. ixl gives me anixety and stress

My son is having a lot of learning issues. He has ADHD and other problem. I had him try out IXL, and he likes it. He doesn't feel discouraged when his points are deducted for mistakes, more than gaining points for getting things right. But he sees it as a challenge, and he likes to overcome himself every day he studies. The mastery system might be suitable for him. Diagnostics, assessment and recommendation is quite helpful to check your kid. So I would like to encourage the people behind designing this system. But if IXL keeps updating its content regularly, it would be very beneficial for kids

Good experience overall. These reviews with low ratings seem to be from very ignorant people that don't have good computer skills. We all know those "one star" people going through life as a victim of everything. Sometimes you can't fix stupid- even if you dress them up and give them a degree.

If there was a rating less than 1 star I would use it. I am a college educated, masters level adult with a professional license trying to help my high school freshman granddaughter with the English/Grammar modules. (BTW - English is my strong suit) This is the most frustrating, confusing and less than accurate program I have ever seen. The explanations are difficult to understand and did not help promote learning for either of us. She worked with her mother (who also has a masters degree and is very skilled with grammar) and I on some of the grammar modules. It took the 3 of use working together over an hour and half to complete the unit to the 100% level. My granddaughter is a straight A student who finds the work almost impossible to complete without major frustrations and huge amounts of time to correct any incorrect answers because of the huge punitive penalties.

IXL is horrible. I am a student using ixl. And even if I get a correct answer, it's marked wrong. Besides, when you get one question right, you get 1-3 points (you must collect points until 100 to complete), but when you get one wrong, you can subtract 10 points! As I have learnt from others, this can get into you and discourage you from doing anything. It damages the psychology and makes the student doubt themselves about their skills. On top of that, they get the vocabulary wrong! For example, who calls a Circle's circumference a perimeter????

not gonna lie some comments are harsh but I get it it can be annoying but it can be good for younger kids it helps some learn and some angry but we all have different learning styles so next time you get mad at IXL just remember it might not just be your thing
