We enlisted the services of Hurst Media for a publication, hoping to drive significant traffic to our website. Despite investing thousands of pounds, we only witnessed a measly 12 visits on our website from this publication. When we raised concerns about the effectiveness and legitimacy of the service, they presented us with a file containing thousands of IP addresses from various locations. This list, however, seemed to be automatically generated rather than representing genuine traffic, raising substantial doubts about its authenticity. Moreover, sharing such a list of IP addresses is a clear violation of GDPR practices, which further tarnished their credibility in our eyes. Despite this, Hurst Media staunchly defended their stance, claiming that the traffic was genuine and we should have seen tens of thousands of visits reflected in our analytics, a claim that was far from our reality. Their response and the lack of results were highly disappointing and raised red flags about their operational practices and compliance with legal standards. Based on our experience, we strongly advise against working with Hurst Media. Their service did not live up to our expectations, nor did it justify the hefty price we paid.
I recently ran a competition in The Guardian through Hurst Media dealing with Sebastien Oates and can’t recommend them enough. Sebastien was friendly, patient and helpful and I gained over 2000 new subscribers to my mailing list. So pleased with them that I’m running another at the end of this month.

If you scroll through many of the appalling reviews and then read the firms reply, you will get a measure of them. GDPR breaches are clearly profound and we have experienced this 4 times and have requested a copy of the Hurst Media GDPR policy. So far nothing is forthcoming and I have written to their Lawyers again today requesting a copy.
After a phone and email exchange with Kyle Stephenson and thorough examination of TrustPilot reviews of Hurst Media, it appears that the negative feedback regarding aggressive sales tactics is indeed well-founded.

Very aggressive and pushy sales tactics from James Hurst. The owner of the company I work for declined the advert offer well in time before the advert was due to go ahead (and the advert didn't go ahead) but they are still very aggressively chasing the invoice for a service that didn't happen and threating to increase the invoice amount. AVOID!

We took a spot in the Homes, Gardens & Interiors section of the Times on Saturday, through the lovely Alex Muirden in April running a competition on Checklists.co.uk alongside it. Alex was very professional to work with, he listened to my concerns and took time to understand our product, making sure we were correctly placed in the paper on the right day for the best exposure of our product.
