    Shocking customer service

    Booked wheel alignment for one garage in Bedford 11.30am. Got there to be told would be at least 4 hours as their ramp broken and they would be taking my car to their garage in the next road at 3pm. Why not just tell me to do that? Gave lots of excuses about how it had been reported and not repaired for 2 weeks. Not my problem! Then went on to ask if my car has lane assistance which it has. Oh well we can't do it anyway then! Apparently it would be tricky to find someone who does. Rang Formula one when I got home and they have no problem doing it and could have done it this afternoon if I had been free. Have also been bombarded with texts, emails and automated phone calls since I booked with Halfords a few days ago. Some at 8am. Now being bombarded by calls again today trying to get me to rebook. Ha ha not a hope! I have blocked their number so they keep leaving voicemails. I rang customer service to complain and held on for 5 minutes to eventually be connected to someone who couldn't understand English so i put phone down. Considering I recently only had my 3 tyres fitted at Halfords they didn't notice alignment was out and this was picked up at a main dealer service. Whole experience was a shambles.

    I went down to Halfords on the…

    I went down to Halfords on the 18/05/2025.to get my wheels and tires changed.whenn the chap reversed out of the garage he ran over a metal plate making my front n/s go down any way I got the car home i since then have paid £120 to get a new tyre Halfords will not pay for the damages thay did I thought Halfords was a good car place to get you car fixed.looks looked I was wrong.dont use Halfords all they do is take your money they don’t care about your car or you .i will never use again

    Absolutely useless

    I have ordered a small item for my bike online! It was never delivered. Now I am stuck calling useless South African based call centre every day to get my money back 👎👎👎

    Canterbury store- I ordered a bike for…

    Canterbury store- I ordered a bike for my sons birthday, i had a phone call to say that they didn't have any new ones on this bike and they wouldn't be getting any more in. They said they had a display one in and they would put it aside for me to look at, i went into the store with my mum and looked at it with the help of (Rudy) who was very helpful. The bike had wear to the wheels and the stabilizers, so Rudy had a look online to see if there was any more new bikes near by for us to go and collect but the only place was Ashford who had 2 showing online, Rudy tried contacting them but no luck, so i went back to look at the display bike and asked if i took this one could they take money of this bike for me, Rudy said a price but me and my mum decided to speak to the manage (Devon) who was so helpful with sorting a good deal out on the bike, I ordered through klarna when i placed the bike and Devon and Rudy was very helpful in cancelling the klarna payment for me and letting me pay for the bike again with the discounted price. I cant wait for my little boy to recieve his bike, no it wasn't a brand new one like i expected it to be, but i could not fault Devon and Rudy for making our experience in the store very friendly and helpful so Thank you!!

    Extremely Poor Service

    I ordered a reversing parking camera from Halfords earlier this month (May 2025) and secured a fitting assessment appointment for today (26/05/2025) at the Cribbs Causeway store in Bristol. I received confirmation emails stating that the item had arrived and was ready for installation. I specifically set aside time over the Bank Holiday weekend to get this fitted. Despite some traffic delays, I arrived at the store only to be told—without prior notice—that no qualified staff were available to carry out the installation. There was no apology, no warning in advance, and no real effort to help—just a refund and a vague suggestion to try another shop. To make matters worse, the same reversing camera (with the option of including a free fitting assessment) is still being advertised on Halfords’ website—clearly misleading future customers. Very disappointing experience. I expected better from a national retailer.

    Order A961B049614, shambolic. Poor communication, zero customer care and up to 5 working days to receive my £170. back when Halfords did not show up. Totally dissatisfied. 24.05.25 8am my sons tyre punctured outside our holiday let Air BnB, I booked an onsite mobile fitting of a new tyre for 25.05.25 and paid a premium for an 8am to 10am visit. Received a reminder 7pm 24th and again 7am 25th. 25th 8.am waiting for Halfords when at 8.25am received a call to say we cannot attend as staff illness and no alternate cover in the area, we were in Carnforth! No refund for up to 5 days, paid £250. for an alternate same day emergency tyre, day lost and then 26th May i raise a complaint, and desperate to get the £170 back only to be told i will get a call within 24 hours but refunds are up to 5 business days! I have been a Halfords customer for years and feel really poorly treated, no communication until 20 mins into the appointment allocated 2hr window, no immediate refund, still no refund after a complaint filed complaint ref 26230059. Poor all round. Why accept work and take our money if you have no coverage? Surely all mobile fitters didnt call in sick. UPDATE Wednesday 28th May, despite being told a call would follow within 24 hours of my complaint no call arrived on 27th May its now 28th May and still no £170 refund. Ombudsman complaint next! UPDATE Saturday 31st May, 1 week on, still no rsfund. Shocking customer service and rank poor management. Call with Halfords and guess what more apologies no refund, will be another 3 to 5 days!!! So 2 weeks to get my 170. Back when they didnt show up. DO NOT USE HALFORDS MOBILE SERVICE THEY LET YOU DOWN ON THE DAY OF EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS THEN KEEP YOUR MONEY FOR 2 WEEKS

    It varies between 4 and -4. Just tried to source rear light bulbs for my bmw x5 and they came up with the wrong ones online which means a trip to the store and if not in stock another after ordering to pick up. Why can’t they get it right Customer service both in store and on line pitiful. Just seems to be footfall Phil Morrison at Longbridge rd plymouth try and get some of your staff to at least look bothered… otherwise more sales will be lost to on line outlets

    Rob at Halfords Harrogate -great job

    We wanted advice on children's car seats. Never having bought one, we needed lots of help. Rob was patient, honest and helpful. We couldn't have asked for more. Went for a coffee to think it over and went back to buy two seats. Rob fitted them and gave us advice on how to do it ourselves and how to adjust them. Thank you

    Great customer service

    We called in at Swansea enterprise park branch at 9am this morning, as my wife walked in she was greeted by a young assistant ,before he was able to say anything we spotted what we wanted a 14ltr coolbox right in front of us . At the counter we was served by another young assistant which was helpful and both of the interacting with our sale by suggesting a few things like the motorclub30 etc . Which gave us a further £5 off . . It's a shame we have to travel the length of Wales to see excellent customer service in Halfords and our local store could learn from these 2 young men . There names was DYLAN & DYLAN sorry we couldn't remember they're initials. But they're manager should be proud on how good they're customer service was

    Visited Halfords Alperton after booking…

    Visited Halfords Alperton after booking an appointment to discuss bike racks. We were a little bit late due to work, but the guy working there (Marcin) was the rudest, most unhelpful man I’ve ever had the misfortune to meet. Needless to say we left without a bike rack and will be going elsewhere in future. Fortunately the man on the front desk was much more helpful with our windscreen wipers, but this was a really disappointing experience and a waste of our time.

    Sack the CEO!

    I went to the website for two reasons. 1. To find a retail store somewhere convenient. 2. To find the nearest that would make a number plate while I wait. Firstly finding the store locating page is awkward. Then when I searched 'store locator' in the search box - no result. Then you find that if you put a location in it shows you nearest but if you zoom out - that's it. No other stores are shown. What?? Is this website 30 years old? So I thought I'd send feedback as they really need to know how bad the website is. But of course there's no feedback link - could it be they just don't care what their customers (or potential customers) think about them? SO I tried their 'chat' - and after a while I got past the robot and spoke to a person. I just asked what the email link was to send feedback and they squirmed and prevaricated and refused to tell ne the truth which seems to be that there isn't one. Why wouldn't they just say that? The other think I wanted from the website was to know where I could get a number plate made while I wait - not the slightest chnce of finding that out! So I guess I have a lot of shopping to do somewhere other than Halfords - what a shower! The CEO should be firecd by the shareholders.

    The staff don’t know their products…

    The staff don’t know their products they sell and are extremely unhelpful. The manager wouldn’t even look at me whilst talking and was very ignorant. Luckily another person who wasn’t staff was in the shop and managed to help. Lancaster Halfords

    Deliberately ripped off

    My 18yr old daughter went to have one brake light changed, they talked her into having them both done, cost her £22 labour plus the bulbs at £5. Only one needed doing. They didn’t even give her the one that was still working. I feel very much like she has been taken advantage of and frankly appalled. This was TAMWORTH

    Don’t believe stock in for on website.

    Went to my local Halfords store in Halifax to buy a product which they didn’t have in stock so I checked to see if they had any in stock in other stores which the website said they did so drove 30 minutes to Bradford just to be told they didn’t have any there either but they do have them in stock in keighley so I drove another 25 minutes to keighley and they didn’t have them there either. Wasted around 2 hours of my day thanks to their website giving false stock info and still don’t have the product that I need.

    DO NOT TRUST HALFORDS

    Took my car in for a major service. Within 30 minutes I was contacted with a long list of work that needed doing. When I asked what was urgent and needed straight away, I was advised that all of the jobs were required as a priority. The total given to me over the phone amounted to £2,500! They casually asked me if they should go ahead with the work. I obviously said ‘no’ as I needed to think whether it was worth me getting the work done, and asked them to just proceed with the service. After much worry, not knowing what to do. Someone advised me to get a second opinion. I asked around for local recommendations (I am new to the area) I paid for my car to have a thorough inspection and test drive (which took considerably longer than the 30 minutes Halford’s took to give me their report’) The prognosis - none of the work was needed. Yes, my car showed signs of wear in the highlighted areas, but none of the work is considered ‘urgent’ or affecting the safety of the car. No advisories given. This mechanic services public service vehicles and is highly regarded locally. All my previous services have been carried out by a main dealer and all MOTs have been passed with no issue, the last one being September. I am being bombarded with emails from Halfords with work lists highlighted in red and amber. I used Halfords on moving to a new area thinking they were a trusted brand. My advice - DON’T USE! I feel the fact that I am a woman who knows nothing about cars was used against me way in an attempt to do unnecessary and incredibly expensive work on my car. I have tried to cancel my membership, but their ‘contact us’ link does not work.

    Robbie… great customer service…Burnley

    We went into Burnley Halford’s to get my 3 children sized up for new bikes. We dealt with Robbie, he was very knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, he made various alterations to all the bikes the children tried. He was very patient and kind as we didn’t know much about bikes. The children were allowed to have a ride on each of them to try out. He spent a lot of time with us ensuring we were safe and happy with everything. 5 star customer service. Hope the bikes are too when they arrive.

    Great experience and excellent service

    My experience at the Brighton Lewes Rd branch was great, in particular with Matt, who was extreme helpful and provided excellent service when fitting new parts for my car. He was so helpful and happy to explain the process to me and to answer all of my questions with expert knowledge. Thank you Matt.

    Still shambolic

    My e-bike has now been back to Halfords for a second repair the same fault as before, first one beginning of April had to wait till the end of April before I got it back, only had it for four days and it broke down again withe same fault. Took the bike back to the shop on the 4th may they said it would be ready by the 13th, it’s now the 24th and still no contact from them,as I said in my last review the it’s shambolic how this company works and treats its customers, never again will I buy from Halfords again

    I would give zero stars if I could

    I would give zero stars if I could. Booked an MOT at the Sidcup garage, arrived 4 minutes late to be told they will no longer do it and they have already refunded me. When I checked my email they had refunded me 2 minutes after my appointment time. Not sure that 2-4 minutes would have any impact on a job that takes almost 2 hours, they clearly did not want to do it as I booked the evening before for the following afternoon and were looking for an excuse not to do the job, they made no attempt to call me at any point.
