Absolute scammers!! STOLE money out of my bank account for “fuel” Even if it was owed which it wasn’t Maximum fuel you can get in the car is £50 but you took £70???
Europcar UK has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.

I booked a rental car through EasyJet after booking my flight to Gatwick Airport. I booked through Discovery Cars who apparently use a company called Keddy who are run by Europcar. After quite a trek to find the rental cars at South Terminal it was there I discovered my car had been booked through Europcar. Somehow during the process and my very stressed self having lost my passport lots of extras were added to my rental without telling me or advising me there as I signed the paperwork. Even when I questioned the girl about the extra £409 she said she didn’t know how much the rental was but there was a refundable deposit. After returning the car £409 was taken from my bank account with no warning and it appears the £78 on my original booking was none existent thank to the added extras I was not told about. When I rang to complain they laughed at me. A very poor service and left me feeling I’d been scammed. I wish I had read the other reviews for Europcar as I would have seen so many other people have experienced the same situation. Do not use this company if you can help it!
very poor customer service! trying to de-fraud money for fuel even tho i have photo evidence of the full tank and the mileage also doesnt make sense in return as its lower than my photo shows. made a complaint, escualted it and still trying to charge me £46 tabk was brimmed couldnt fit another drop in! tried to blame a faulty fuel guage and telemetrics even tho i have proof of it being full and also fuel reciepts! customer service and managers refused to clear the invoice! avoid this company at all costs
I bought a full tank and returned it as a full tank. As written on the return invoice, 8/8: 8/8 The next day's invoice showed a Fuel charge of £12.53 for 1.74 plus VAT for 6 litres. However, I filled up the vehicle with BP 5 minutes before returning it, as I had driven 57 miles.(I have Bp invoice) I received 8/8 and returned 8/8 as approved and written by the person who received the vehicle. So they found a way to make easy money. A complete DISGRACE Please be careful when renting a car
ATTENTION - because they use unfair sales practices, strong pressure, misleading, adding additional services without the customer's consent = Europcar Glasgow standards! Good advice - respect yourself and your money, avoid them and choose another rental company.
The worst experience I've had. Horrible customer service. Have not received my refund 3weeks after the first booking is closed down. Would not use this company again
🚨 WARNING: DISHONEST & UNFAIR PRACTICES AT EUROPCAR 🚨 I am a disabled customer who rented a vehicle from Europcar, and my experience has been absolutely appalling. I was wrongly charged for fuel and mileage discrepancies, and despite providing solid proof—including a photo with the exact date, time, and mileage when I dropped the car off—Europcar completely dismissed my evidence. Their response was nothing short of deceitful. The mileage on the vehicle increased after it was picked up, yet they ignored my concerns and insisted on charging me unfairly. Instead of addressing my proof, they gave vague responses and refused to acknowledge their own mistakes. This company is dishonest and has no regard for fairness or customer care, especially for disabled customers like myself. If they can do this to me, they can do it to anyone! 🚨 BEWARE! Take photos, record everything, and think twice before trusting Europcar with your money. 🚨
Got a replacement from motability while our car is in getting sorted, phoned up today twice to get the car changed as the MG is not suitable to be told someone would phone back about a replacement, phoned up this evening to be told there is no fleet and we won't get a car till Wednesday or Thursday and that it could be another MG same as what we have just now 😂😂. This company really don't care about others and don't listen to your requests, I would avoid at all costs.
Great service at Bristol (City Centre). Seemless, transparent and friendly. I recently rented a car to go to a funeral and the process couldn't have been easier. The team at the Bristol site (near Temple Meads) were really nice! Despite the man being 30mins from the end of his shift, he was very good at describing all the extras I could add to my order but not pushy at all. I went for the basic cover. When viewing the car they were happy to show we round the vehicle and took the time to talk to me about how a hybrid works in a warm and non-patronising way (Turns out it's the same as normal cards, it was a stupid question on my part!). He also encouraged me to take photos of the vehicle to protect my deposit. I've had people rush me through this stage only to charge me later. Great value and friendly. I was impressed.
We collected a car from Stanstead airport for 7 days. The interior had not been cleaned. The lady on the desk only cared about trying to sell us upgrades. Now I have just received my deposit back minus some miscellaneous 'taxes' and a 'qualified office' charge..... It totals less than 10 pounds but if they do that to everyone...... not impressed. Edit - I emailed customer services and they said it was a computer error and that they would return the money. I've raised my review from 1 star to 2 stars but am still suspicious and as a result have just canceled my next hire that I had pending with them.
North Americans beware.I was scammed at Gatwick by Europcar agent who claimed my Chase credit card insurance was too low and demanded £100000 insurance at £20per day.Twice I have filled out the Europcar complaint form and twice been told site down and my complaint therefore lost.!! How do I complain and get my money back?
This company operates false advertising and a bait-and-switch policy. Where other providers will provide you with a equivalent or better car if they don't have the vehicle you booked, they will just cancel your booking, make you call them and then try and upsell you to a significantly more expensive vehicle WHILST CONTINUING TO ADVERTISE THE VEHICLE THEY DON'T HAVE. Absolutely disgusting business practice.
FATEVI SCHIFO. NON NOLEGGIATE DA QUESTA SOCIETA', FATEVI DEL BENE
BEWARE! This company should be avoided. We have had a really bad experience with them. I would advise anyone NEVER to leave a key for them to collect the car and ALWAYS be there upon handing the car back to them. I have advised my insurance company not to use them and I wouldn't go any where near them, even if this is offered to you through an insurance company if there are issues with your own car. You are better off not having a hire car at all.
They are a bunch of thieving swines over charging me for additional fees and petrol I would never ever hire or recommend anyone to hire from this rip off company.
I booked a luxury Mercedes CLA car for my trip to Edinburgh and paid the charges in full at the time of booking. At the time of collection of the car, the guy offered my Mercedes SUV for £25.00 per day extra, which I did. After coming back home I got invoice charging me extra £42.80 stating that they are for extra charges for which there was no mention at the time of booking nor at the time of collection of the car. Guys, be aware of this looting going on by this co. I contacted there customer services and they said the charges have been correctly applied and that's it.
My three day car rental invoice indicated that I had been overcharged nearly £50. Now some two weeks after I have returned the rental car and repeated phone calls to customer service team I still have not received a refund. Customer Service appear to have a policy that if you ask to escalate they place you on hold continuously
Due to friendly, professional service (especially Davide) and Rodney we are repeat customers to their London city airport branch.
I booked what I thought was a large van, turned out to be a medium van so she offered me an upgrade to a large van. Online price for medium van is £26.37 Online price for a large van is £29.83 UPGRADE PRICE for large van is £37.10 !!! What kind of a company does this kind of nonsense...never again - you just can't trust them
Picked up small car at Gatwick Airport.Told by Europcar my 60k insurance inadequate and had to buy 100000gbp insuance at 20 gbp a day.Clerk said any N American who did not book direct was subject to 100k demand. All folk from USA/Canada be aware.A real scam.
