Laethian and Neil were top quality, helped make everything clear and made it a great experience. What could’ve been a daunting challenge for people like myself with no prior experience was made into an enjoyable few weeks. Couldn’t recommend more
Safwan Bajwa I completed level 2 with elec training . My experience on a whole was overwhelming great. The main contributing factor to this was the trainer Laethian. Could ask the same question 100 times until you understood it and Latheain would find a 100 different ways of answering it until you could understand one . Latheian took on the role of more than just a trainer but a part time comedian , problem solver and most of all a friend. My only issue with elec training is that I couldn’t have Latheian for 18th edition or level 3 . Truthfully I don’t know if the experience with elec training would’ve been the same without him.
I was an electrician for over 15 years in Portugal, and when I came to the UK it was with great surprise when I realised that I couldn't continue working without obtaining British qualifications. It was frustrating, I had the knowledge and experience, but nobody would give me a chance. Luckily, I found Elec Training. They did a fantastic job of helping me through the training and I'm especially grateful to Ben and Malcolm for their indispensable support throughout the process. I also struggled to find work because I didn't have a car, but Josh went the extra mile and managed to find me a job in electrical work within walking distance. I'm very happy to finally be back working in the electrical industry and building my career in the UK. Best regards

Overall great experience also big thanks to Josh for sorting me out a job placement within a week of completing my training.
The positive is that I now have my qualification, and the rest is negative. I hope the training centre takes these points and improves it for future adults paying £3000+ for a course. Recruitment does not start looking for jobs until after you finish the course, I don't think anyone on our course has work found for them. We didn’t even meet Josh until week 4. Waited over a month for certificates to come through. Weren't told about an exam we had on the first couple of days so no way to prepare for that. The sales people are seriously there to get you signed on and get the money, they'll sell you the dream and get the money out of you. In general it's very poorly ran, there's no structure, and no organisation. Laptops were unavailable, textbooks weren't ordered in time for the lessons so we wasted days waiting for them. In regards to our tutor Laeth, he was great, makes learning really fun, and a really great guy. Definitely ask for him as your tutor.
I started my NVQ level 3 portfolio and got several interviews and job offers straight away. Josh was a big help in getting me an interview with a company with good salary and career prospects. Highly recommend as they do what they say.
This is a long review. So Tl;DR Excellent school for self funding your training to become an electrician. I went in with no experience and left with a 50k job as an electrical engineer. Pros: Commitment post completion of your course to find you a job, with multiple cohorts of 12 students they cant find one for everyone but their careers advisor Josh works round the clock to find you roles. In the end it took me 6 weeks to find a job after completion, and though i found that role myself I would not have passed the interview without Josh's preparation, which included: CV writing support and general career advice, interview practice through the 4 roles he did find me but i didnt get and comprehensive knowledge of the local electrical industries. Josh was able to provide me contacts in the company i got a job in after i told him i was interviewing there which helped a long way. And did similar for other interviews id found myself. Other post training support i saw were people from previous cohorts coming in for free on the spot training for wiring things not covered in course that a candidate needed for an interview, and a candidate that had to drop out for personal reasons being told they could drop onto a later cohort with no issues. The school really take their graduated students careers in their hands and do what they can to find roles for them. The bulk of the work is on you the candidate, but they do everything they can if you choose to work with them. Quality of Teaching. We were trained by Wayne, Malcolm and Laithian across the 7 week level 2 course. Their depth of experience both as teachers and trade electricians was great and they were able to identify where we needed support on the fly and they were all friendly and supportive. There were a number of opportunities for people who were working ahead of the group to gain experience with non course material like wiring showers and fire systems while the rest caught up which was nice. Atmosphere The school is relaxed, for the level 2 course we were all adults with previous work experience, and while we had a few jokers in the group Wayne kept them on track and the team on schedule. We were encouraged to support each other and still have a group chat from our cohort up and running. The 18th edition course had a lot of teenagers just out of college was a lot more noisy and disruptive, but its a quick 1 week course and i found it pretty easy after just having done the 6 weeks of level 2. Cons Group size: They kept adding people to course mid way which was a distraction as teacher had to catch up, they added so many in fact that they split the group in half, the part time option for the course seemed a little half baked and id recommend you do full time and start day one to avoid the issues i saw here. That said all those people passed by the end of it so not that big a deal. Facilities: The Thomas Street facility was great, with a kitchen, clean bathrooms and up to date, if a little crowded teaching areas. The Faraday campus was damp, leaking roof, leaking plumbing in their toilet, cold and poorly insulated and missing a front door, though the teaching facilities were better than Thomas Street, with more room and equipment, the comfort was much lower. That said we are manual professionals, its worth it to slog through a flooded bathroom or two to get the qualifications. This wasnt a deal breaker but if you get a choice try to work in Thomas Street.
Laethian is brilliant tutor and taught me so much durring the 4 weeks and feel confident to go out and carry out domestic electrical installs. He also is down to earth easily approachable if you don't understand something. Also you can have banter with him. He is by far the best tutor I have ever had. Hopefully will be able to do my level 3 with him. He is a credit to your company! Also shout out to Steve bloke is also a legend any questions or unsure of anything always quick to respond and happy to help. Not just sell you the dream. Also shout out to Ben who is also a legend and credit to your company if it wasn't for all his help and support would not have passed my 18th first time. Cannot fault him.
Just finished my level 2, the support and teaching was second to none! The tutors were more the helpful more so leathian went the extra mile for the students and myself, malcom to and josh is already finding me job opportunities. Highly recommend! And grateful for everything!
I run a company that helps people develop a new route for work, from the Performing Arts to Military or Professional Sports. I referred a candidate to Elect Training, who were brilliant. The training was excellent and the aftercare, particularly from Josh, has been first-class. Managing to find the candidate a great job. I will certainly be referring my candidates to them in the future
I signed up for the NVQ with Elec Training based on their promise to help me find employment to complete my qualification—and they delivered exactly as they said they would! Not only have I secured a new job after my hours were reduced with my previous company, but I’m now working with a company that will support me in completing my NVQ. Big thanks to Josh from recruitment for making it happen! Highly recommend Elec Training for anyone looking to get into the electrical industry.
Having left the military and looking for a new career, I wanted to build on the skills I gained during my service. I always enjoyed the electrical aspects of my job, which led me to choose the Level 2 2365 course with Elec Training. Laethian was an amazing and enthusiastic teacher, making the whole class feel comfortable from day one. Josh was incredibly helpful and reassuring about finding work—even joking that, as an ex-soldier, it would be a competition to see who could get me a job first! I'm extremely happy with the service I received and will definitely be coming back for my Level 3!
A very good company that helps people to get jobs for electricians and very good service, I recommend ELEC TRAINING to any aspiring electricians who want placement! Huge Thanks to Joshua, helped me incredibly and was an honour to talk to!
I’ve been in construction since I was a teenager, working as both a machine driver and groundworker over the years, but I’ve always had an interest in electrics. Without qualifications, it was difficult to find a way into the electrical industry—until I came across Elec Training. Thanks to their support, I’m now Level 2 qualified, have my 18th Edition certification and ECS card, and I’m starting work with an M&E company next week! A big thanks to Josh from recruitment for helping make it happen. Highly recommend Elec Training to anyone looking to get into the electrical trade!
Just finished my level 2 with elec training,I was a bit nervous to begin with as I didn’t no anything about being an electrician and also my age as I knew I would of been one of the oldest in the class but my trainer laethian was amazing with me and the rest of the lads, the way he delivered the therory and practicals filled me with confidence that I would get thru it especially the theory side, he was always there to help and could ask him anything, I’m now going to do my level 3 thanks to laethian.
Tutor Laethian was very helpful, friendly made it easy for us to learn cannot thank him enough I would recommend this course for anyone trying to get into the trade
Laethian, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your help over the past four weeks. You made the whole experience so much easier and genuinely enjoyable. Really appreciate all the help and hard work to get me through!
Just finished my level two course and wanted to thank laith for the best teaching ever. Friendly, kind and awesome, thank you so much for being supportive when we needed you, getting through this course was bearable and easy hope to see you again -esaa
Had a great time doing the level 2 course,a lot was learnt within the short period & all kudos to Sir Leathien for the knowlegde impacted in us..See you again for my level 3
Tutor was friendly. Very helpful, made the course so much easier and fun. Well knowledgeable and understanding when you couldn’t quite grasp something. Will be advising people to use these for future electricians.
I signed up with Elec Training to complete my NVQ and achieve my Gold Card. I chose them because they are one of the few companies that help people find work placements outside of apprenticeships. This was crucial for me since I’m no longer eligible for an apprenticeship and couldn’t afford to take a role at apprentice wages. Their support has made a huge difference in my journey, and I highly recommend them to anyone in a similar position.
