I recently completed on a house sale and Im gutted to say that I wouldn’t recommend DC Law. I thought the eWay portal was brilliant and made it so much easier and convenient, and Nancy was lovely. However I found the communication really poor. Emails don’t get responded to, and it felt like they only remembered about my case when I called to chase it (many times). Comparing legal costs with friends/family, I spent a fortune but didn’t get any better service in doing so. It has been over 2 months since completion and I haven’t had any deed documents with my name on yet - which somebody else pointed out that I needed, this was not communicated by DC Law. I’ve queried over email with no response. I don’t have trust in DC Law that these documents will be provided to me, based on my experience with everything else.

This was a complicated sale of the property of my deceased uncle. The solicitor at DC Law who was dealing with this, Lisa Rimmer, kept me informed of the progress and was easy to contact if I had any questions and when a last minute problem arose she was quick to sort it out and ensure that the sale went through. I am very grateful for her help and professionalism

As a first-time buyer, the process could have felt overwhelming, but Hollie made everything completely hassle-free from start to finish. Her professionalism ensured everything went smoothly, and I never had to worry about a thing. She always responded quickly to any questions and kept me updated at every stage. The eWay portal was also incredibly easy to use, making it simple to track progress and complete paperwork online. On top of that, DC Law’s fees were very reasonable, offering excellent value for such a high standard of service.

Absolutely appalling service when handling my aunt's estate. Terrible lack of communication, great inefficiency, and no empathy whatsoever. The agent we were dealing with at first left suddenly and we had no contact for weeks until we prodded. We had to keep pushing to get things moving. This caused unnecessary anxiety during an already extremely stressful situation. Their e-Way system is beyond a joke. It has taken 2 years to finalise this estate. Amazing that this company is recommended by the Co-op, who were far more reliable and kept us up to speed, and also had trouble reaching DC Law when necessary. Unfortunately, I have to say I would never recommend DC Law.

Terrible service from DC Law and as a result what should have been a very simple purchase was not completed by 31st March as requested at the outset. They haven't responded to phone calls, e-mails, etc from both myself and the sellers conveyancer. This was a cash purchase of an empty Freehold property (absolute title) with no chain, no local searches required and a 'buyers pack' had already been prepared for when the property had previously been for sale by auction. I doubt they will get an easier purchase to deal with. DC Law received the Contract and title documents from the sellers conveyancer on 12th Feb and yet couldn't get the purchase completed by 31st March. We are now facing increased stamp duty cost as a result of DC Law's poor case management.

Unprofessional and Unresponsive – Avoid at All Costs My experience with this law firm has been incredibly frustrating. Communication is almost non-existent, with responses taking 10–14 days—if they even bother to reply at all. Because of their lack of urgency and failure to stay in touch with the seller’s solicitor, the stamp duty deadline was missed, leading to a significant financial impact. Even now, long after the deadline, I have no idea what’s happening with my case. There has been no update, no clear direction, and no accountability. If you value efficiency, reliability, and basic communication, I strongly advise looking elsewhere.
