With reference to clayton hotel liffey valley Dublin. I am a regular user of this hotel. I don't normally write reviews but I feel the need to on this occasion. I have always been made to feel welcome here by all members of staff are friendly and courteous. A particular member of staff the wonderful Roxana on the reception team is an outstanding member staff going above and beyond to make me welcome and relaxed always bubbly and happy. First class
Wasn't expecting much from the restaurant however the food was good and the service from Maria & Danny made the experience very enjoyable Emily on reception was also extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble Only downside is they have started to remove the small table from the rooms and no longer do complementary water and biscuits
A big thank you 10/10 to the night staff & concierge/ security upon our late arrival on 24th Feb. Not sure about the breakfast staff ( in charge?)who booked us in at the restaurant reception desk on the morning of Sunday 25/2 we booked in for breakfast & found a spare table he came over and told us abruptly we're can't sit in that area. I noted guests were already seated & tables were available, his attitude was abrupt & rude! Training course required!
I wish i could write a good review about this hotel but my experience has now been dampened because ive had £250 taken out of my account and been told evidence of smoking was found in the room. I visited this hotel for a well needed weekend break with my friend to unwind and relieve current stress. I am now more stressed than i was before I started the weekend. When we first arrived at the hotel I was told I didnt have a booking even after showing my email, I made my booking on their website. I was then asked to look for a confirmation number to be told after "Oh ive found you, you already checked in online" which we didnt, but thankfully this was resolved and we went to our room 512 on the 5th floor. We stayed from Sat 24th Feb and checked out on Mon 26th Feb. I have just returned from the hotel approx 14.45 on Mon 26th Feb to find that £250 has been deducted from my account and we have been accused of smoking in our room. They said they found evidence of "ash" and "buds of cigarettes" in the bin. Not that the room smelled like we had been smoking in there and also not that the actual buds of the cigarettes in the bin had been burnt!! But let me continue... I was not notified by the hotel, nor had anyone dicussed the matter with us or stated there had been any issue with our stay, my card has just been used after we departed and has been charged without no warning nor any wrongdoing. I called them to investigate thinking I had been charged twice for the room as I paid £238 previously for our stay and £250 was deducted. When I was first put through to a gentleman and mentioned the missing money he said, "oh yes, the reason is because that night when you had an issue with your door, the key fob has now been broken" I replied "What are you on about, we never had any issues with our door or a broken fob" he then said "oh I think im talking to the wrong person" well clearly sir!! and it seems they just like to be handing out charges to people for anything. He then asked me what I was calling about and when I explained that I had been charged again for the room he said he would investigate and let me know what happened. He then called back to state that evidence of smoking was found in our room. My friend uses cigarettes to roll up with, so she will make 1 cigarette 2 roll ups instead of smoking a whole 1, hence "the cigarette buds" he had the cheek to refer to. We went outside of the hotel when we first arrived to smoke as we didnt realise there was a designated smoking area. We went out to dinner on our first night and when we returned I asked the gentleman at reception where the smoking area was to which he replied opposite the bar. From that point during our stay anytime we wanted to smoke we went to the balcony opposite the bar. I dont always finish smoking so i will dab it out half way to smoke the rest later. When you do this it has a stronger scent. Id then go back to the room and smoke the unfinished cig outside on the balcony later or in the morning, this is probably the "evidence of ash" they referred to or the only reason the room may have a scent, however, nobody smoked in the room as we are not adolescent black children who dont know how to follow the rules. We did exactly what we always do which is smoke outside. There is also no rule to say you cannot roll up in your room, or bring back a half smoked roll up to your room. All of this was explained to the gentleman, and he said "I do believe you madame, however, theres nothing I can do and I need to speak to my general manager tomorrow for them to investigate the matter and look at the cctv to show all the times you "say" you went out to smoke". Ive had to now wait for 24 hours for them to investigate this matter and check their security footage to see the actual 101 times we went out to smoke on their balcony in the freezing cold as instructed. Ive also requested to see this "picture evidence" they say was in our room of these so called "cigarette buds and evidence of ash" which they said would be emailed to me and I am yet to receive. Im so livid and honestly trying not to make this a racist thing, but honestly why is that of all the peole who were constantly outside smoking that we would be charged for smoking in the room when we did the exact opposite. I feel insulted and outraged as im £250 out of pocket because I followed the rules, and am now feeling so miserable after what was supposed to be a great weekend. For this reason i will never stay at this hotel again nor recommend anyone else that smokes does. If the picture evidence comes through I will upload
we land at our hotel at about 11pm, Tuesday 20 February, we have reserved a room with two double beds in a room, but receive a room with a double bed and nothing works in the room. beneath criticism. I then go down to Abdul in Manchester and he says there are no other rooms. How can it happen that a reserved room is not there?? under all criticism... and we paid for this service and you can't deliver, then I don't care about your excuse that you don't have other rooms, it's booked and it should be as you have an order! assumes to get an answer
My daughter stayed at clayton hotel on 17th February for her birthday jordan the dep manger couldn't do more he made it easy nothing was to much for him her stay was amazing he went up and above to make sure her stay was comfortable her room was beautiful with a lovely card just want to thank jordan for his amazing work definitely will be back big shout out to the top man in clayton hotel in chiswick
Regrettably, my stay at the Clayton in Dusseldorf was far from ideal. While the room met basic standards and cleanliness was ok, the absence of essential amenities such as a sleeper, shower cap, and shaving kit left much to be desired. The overall experience was marred by the rudeness and annoyance from the blond receptionist girl, making it a less-than-pleasant stay.
scandalous experience at this hotel. Paid 2 rooms for 2 nights around 1000 euros To have a below average room with dirty and stained carpet, broken coffee machine, empty minibar, no type of accessories (toothpaste, slippers, etc.) double bed composed of two coupled single beds Unfriendly receptionist What can I say, a more than negative experience, I absolutely don't recommend it
We stayed at the Manchester City centre Hotel for 4 days, food was fantastic and fresh loved how clean it was and lovely staff so friendly and welcoming always ready to accommodate and help. Beautiful rooms and views.
I regularly use the Clayton Hotel at Manchester airport for meetings and lunches. I parked as usual in late November for a meeting and lunch, paid my parking fee as usual and went home. Yesterday I received a threatening letter from Parkineye demanding a £100 parking fine. I wrote to the hotel with evidence of my payment for parking and received the following reply.. Good Morning, Thank you for your E-Mail regarding the PCN you have been charged, unfortunately you will have to follow the appeals procedure on the back of the PCN. The Clayton Hotel cannot dispute any PCN’s for any guest that has used the car park and not stayed in the hotel, and this must be done directly through Parking Eye with the information supplied on the PCN. Regards Holiday Parking I really annoyed that having used the hotel regularly for a number of years both for meeting and as guest this is their response. This is going to take significant time to resolve an issue for what I am not at fault - It would be easy for the hotel to resolve! I will certainly think twice about using Clayton Hotels
Don’t bother buying a Groupon voucher for this hotel. I bought afternoon Prosecco and tea for the Cardiff hotel as a present for my best friend and her husband. It turns out there is no availability at all for any weekend this year! Groupon are refusing a refund. Disgusting and now a very embarrassing situation
Lovely hotel and lovely staff. They were more than happy to help with any requests. The room was lovely and spacious at the London wall hotel. Very convenient location only 2 minutes from Liverpool Street underground. It was a little on the expensive side for the single night but for the time it was the cheapest hotel I could find in the relevant area. The room was lovely and clean with plenty of extra amenities.
Be Careful as cleaning staff will steal your personal item during the day and front desk staff seems to know about it as he is covering their back. Water pressure is very weak.
My husband and I stayed at Clayton hotel Dublin airport with our daughter on the way to America and the treatment we received was horrendous. Firstly the woman at reception was so ignorant to me because she tried to inform me our name wasn't there so we didn't book the room, I explained to her we had booked it over two months ago and when I took out my phone to get up the email it turned out she was spelling our last name wrong. She didn't even have the decency to apologise to us. My husband was disgusted at her treatment with me! Secondly myself and my husband decided to go for a walk over to the garage across the road with our daughter to get her milk and my husband went down ahead of us to wait at reception for us. As he was waiting at the double doors leading to the elevators with his white card in his hand clear to be seen the manager on duty that night walked over to him and asked him was he staying there, he said yes he was just waiting for his wife and daughter, he then asked my husband what room he was in which my husband told him, then he proceeded to pull the room card out of my husband's hand and inform him he was checking it. My husband was mortified as there was lots of people there when this happened. When I went to complain about what he did he told me that it was standard procedure because my husband was standing there. when I asked him did he pull the room card out of everyone that was standing there's hand, he couldn't reply to me other then say my husband looked suspicious to him which was pure and utter cr#p. He was simply waiting outside the door for us!!! This is disgusting behavior and we have stayed there everytime we have flown anywhere but I can tell you after that we will never stay there again. The manager was a very large man of foreign nationality and very ignorant to us and when I said I would be going over his head with my complaint he started laughing at me and said to who I am the manager !!!!
Rude staff... Not a safe place for children rough crowd hanging out around the reception door with bouncer's staff at night terrible food if you can get a seat, needs knocking down....
We stayed at the GLASGOW Clayton hotel 7-8 November, the hotel was superb & the staff were a credit to the hotel, slightly confusing trying to find the correct lift but easily negotiated. Our stay was on a bed & breakfast basis the breakfast was plentiful & fresh so on our last night we decided to eat in the hotel unfortunately the food was very disappointing my wife had a salmon dish which was overcooked and the sauce served with my steak was very watery and insipid. We would stay here again but unfortunately we would not be dining there.
We stayed at the Clayton Hotel Birmingham. On arrival we were upgraded immediately to an executive room. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. In the morning, we arrived late for breakfast, but the team made us feel very comfortable and we were not rushed at all. Prashant was the most helpful and deserves special mention. Would definitely stay again !!
Lovely hotel and friendly staff in a great location. Swimming pool is ideal for small kids. One issue I had though was that our room key card was deactivated before we had checked out. Check out time is 11am, which is a little early given the prices charged and the fact that check-in is not possible before 4pm (website says 3pm is possible, but our room wasn't ready until 3:45pm and there was a lot of other folks waiting around in the lobby). Coming back from a post-breakfast swim with the kids our room key card was deactivated by 11:05 so we had to go all the way back to reception to get it sorted. Means our enjoyable trip ended on a downer. Suggest guests are given a long grace period - say an hour.
We had a great experience dining at the Clayton Hotel Leopardstown. The food was tasty and the service was fast. Thanks to waitress Lea for making the experience enjoyable and especially for the advice on wine choice. I recommend this restaurant.
