My Instructor, Baodi, exceeded expectations!

Baodi Ngo, my instructor for the PMP Boot Camp Course exceeded my expectations for the course for November 2023. He was remarkably accommodating when it came to making sure online classroom setup was working for everyone and very patient throughout the course when taking questions about the material or addressing any student's concerns about taking the test, exam vouchers, course materials. Each session becomes a journey of learning, fostering a deep understanding of project management. This instructor's approach not only imparts knowledge but instill confidence. I had signed up for this course as I knew this was overdue for my professional career and came away very inspired at the potential value of this certification. I was able to print out the materials ahead of time and follow along with the online class by taking notes and highlighting the various areas that Baodi elaborated on. It definitely felt like a boot camp as he suggested strategies on attacking different test prep questions. With the spare time he had, he offered advice on preparing for the exam. He has a good pace for his teaching style where I felt it was easy to keep up with him and not too slow where I felt I may be tempted to tune out. With a few minute breaks every hour, I felt refreshed to dive through two consecutive full day weekends. His wealth of professional experience shines through inspirational stories, offering valuable real-world applications to the PMP topics and methodologies. This was invaluable as he described how he applied the predictive and agile styles in his career. Baodi is a remarkable guide for anyone navigating the intricacies of IT project management - a perfect blend of expertise and teaching prowess. Highly recommended for a transformative learning experience. I wish I had someone like Baodi as a mentor. This is the kind of instructor you want in your corner when preparing for this exam. Somewhere in the dictionary under the term servant leadership is a picture of our instructor, Baodi.

Exceptional Agile Certified Practitioner Bootcamp Experience

I recently had the privilege of participating in the Agile Certified Practitioner Bootcamp led by the outstanding instructor, Baodi Ngo. Without a doubt, this learning experience was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to Mr. Ngo's unparalleled expertise, engaging teaching style, and unwavering commitment to student success. From the very beginning, Baodi set the tone for an interactive and collaborative learning environment. His deep understanding of Agile principles and methodologies was evident, and he effortlessly conveyed complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. What truly set him apart was his ability to tailor the course content to the diverse backgrounds and skill levels of the participants, ensuring that everyone could grasp and apply the material effectively. One of the highlights of the bootcamp was Baodi's dynamic and hands-on teaching approach. He seamlessly integrated real-world examples and case studies, allowing us to see the practical application of Agile practices in various industries. This not only enriched our understanding but also provided valuable insights into how Agile can be implemented in our own professional settings. Baodi's passion for Agile methodologies was contagious, creating an energizing and positive atmosphere throughout the entire course. His enthusiasm inspired active participation and fostered a sense of camaraderie among the participants. Furthermore, his commitment to creating a supportive learning community was evident, as he consistently encouraged open dialogue, questions, and collaboration among attendees. What truly stood out was Baodi's responsiveness to the individual needs of each participant. He took the time to address questions thoroughly, ensuring that everyone felt heard and understood. His approachability and willingness to go above and beyond to support our learning journey set a benchmark for instructional excellence. In addition to the comprehensive coverage of Agile principles and practices, Baodi provided invaluable exam preparation strategies and insights. His guidance not only boosted our confidence but also equipped us with the tools needed to successfully navigate the Agile Certified Practitioner exam. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Baodi Ngo as an instructor for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of Agile methodologies. His expertise, engaging teaching style, and genuine dedication to student success make him an exceptional educator. I am grateful for the enriching experience and newfound knowledge gained through this bootcamp, all thanks to the outstanding instruction of Baodi Ngo.

Feeling prepared and ready

Feeling prepared and ready! I have been a project manager in one regard or another for nearly a decade and have heard that the PMP is difficult because of the differences between real-life experience and 'the book.' My instructor Baodi Ngo, helped tie the two things together by calling out what you need to remember vs what would be helpful in the role itself. I appreciate the translations between PMI terminology and what it may be in your organization. I am confident that only studying the PMBOK would not have been enough.

I can't give enough praise to Kandi Hall

I can't give enough praise to my instructor Kandi Hall! I had already taken 2 other courses prior to the boot camp and done some significant studying but had difficulty pulling things together to answer "PMI questions." Kandi made it really easy to understand how PMI, or PMs who contribute to the tests, think. I took the exam less than a week after the boot camp and passed with flying colors. Well worth my money.

Experienced instructor, poor dashboard

A previous review here claimed that there was no interactivity or practice tests for this class. I want to confirm that this is NOT true! We have access to a 180-question mock exam, a few timed practice exams, 35 practice quizzes (one for each PMBOK section), and even the class presentations themselves have a 5-10 question "learning assessment" at the end of each section. My virtual class with Baodi Ngo was mostly lecture but slightly interactive, where the other students shared their background with the subject matter or their experience in applying to the PMI. My class was generally very open and welcoming so I was comfortable asking questions whenever I needed. INSTRUCTOR: My instructor was Baodi Ngo; he was very knowledgeable about the exam and obviously had a wealth of experience to share that helped make the lessons come alive. He would solicit feedback regularly to make sure that his pace was good or his teaching style was helpful. When I gave feedback, he made a concerted effort to change his style to accommodate. For example, his stories would occasionally ramble, but once he got feedback about how to make it more concise, he implemented the feedback literally on the next slide and for the rest of the class. Having completed the whole class, I can now compare each day and I can say that the first class might have been paced too slow for the amount of content we had to cover in the last class. But all the content was covered and he was open to staying a bit later on the last day to answer any questions. CONTENT: The in-class slides were sometimes unclear about which vocabulary was related to agile vs predictive. For example, the slide would say "hybrid", but some words were clear indicators of agile environments while others were indicators of predictive. This was pretty annoying, especially when the exam is so specific about knowing the right word to use for the right environment. Ultimately, not a dealbreaker because the instructor would clarify in his lecture what we should take note of, but I would love it if it were explicitly stated on the slide itself. (Example of GOOD slides: 476-481 about Benefits. Example of BAD slide: 59 about Change Management) ONLINE DASHBOARD: While it has a wealth of information and resources, the UI looks very dated. This isn't just a complaint about aesthetics: the dashboard was genuinely difficult to navigate because of this poor design. For example, over the course of 4 days, no one in the class was able to find the pdf for the answers to the in-class "Learning Assessments". Our instructor finally had to e-mail the answers to us. Not sure if it was missing or we just couldn't navigate the UI successfully. More importantly, the dashboard would have broken links, like to the timed practice exams. (We had to reach out to customer support to fix them). I removed a star specifically because of the poor dashboard experience.

This is a waste of time and money

A man sat in a room and read powerpoints for 4 days and told personal stories. I could have done this in a fraction of the time myself. There was nothing interactive, there were no practice tests, there was nothing at all worthwhile about the time spent in this class other than obtaining the certificate to apply to take the test. Big money-making racket. Beware. It is less expensive to take the online course for this purpose. If I could give this ZERO stars I would.

Veterans Day Appreciation - PMP Boot Camp

🇺🇸 Thank you, PMA, for putting on the “Veterans Day Appreciation” PMP exam prep course‼️ It was great to be in a virtual room with all veterans, to include the instructor. Mike Strachan’s military background and real-world PMP experience made it easy for the class to relate the “military way” of doing things to the “PMI way” of doing things. PMA, hopefully you will continue to offer the Veterans Day Appreciation PMP course. It is very much appreciated. 🫡

My coach Crystal was phenomenal

My coach Crystal was phenomenal. Although I studied for the exam previously, things did not start to align until I took the course and was able to discuss my thoughts/assumptions. The course pace was excellent and allowed enough time to not only grasp the material, but retain it.
