Keltec Sub 2000 Gen 3 Reviews

The Gen 3 really addressed most of the complaints from earlier versions. The new charging handle location is so much better and the overall fit and finish has improved. Still not perfect but it's a solid choice for a takedown carbine that won't break the bank.

Been shooting this for about 6 months now and it's been reliable. The fact that it uses common pistol magazines is brilliant. Recoil is manageable and it's surprisingly accurate out to 50 yards. The folding feature makes it great for camping trips.

Good for what it costs. The folding feature is the main selling point and it delivers on that front. Accuracy is adequate for close range work but don't expect precision shooting. Trigger could definitely use some work.

Takes Glock mags, folds in half, what's not to like? It's not a precision instrument but it's a blast to shoot and very practical.

I needed something compact for my RV and this fits the bill perfectly. Folds down to almost nothing, reliable with standard ammunition, and the fact it shares magazines with my Glock 19 is incredibly convenient. The Gen 3 improvements really show - much better than my buddy's Gen 2.

The portability when folded is amazing, but I've had some reliability issues with certain magazine brands. Works great with OEM Glock mags but struggles with some aftermarket ones. The Gen 3 upgrades are nice but I expected better overall performance for the price point.

I really wanted to love this rifle but it has some issues. The folding mechanism is great and the size when folded is impressive. However, I've had several feeding issues even with quality ammo, and the trigger is pretty heavy. Customer service was helpful when I reached out though.

Folds up nice and compact, fits perfectly behind my truck seat. Takes my Glock 17 mags which is convenient since I already have plenty. Good quality for the price point.

The Gen 3 improvements are noticeable over the earlier versions. The new operating handle location is much better and the overall build quality feels more refined. That said, it can be a bit picky with certain ammo brands and the iron sights are just okay. For the money though, it's hard to beat as a fun range gun that doubles as home defense.

The Sub 2000 Gen 3 is exactly what I was looking for in a compact carbine. The folding mechanism works smoothly and makes storage so much easier. Accuracy is solid for what it is, and the fact that it takes Glock mags is a huge plus. Only minor complaint is the trigger could be a bit crisper, but overall very satisfied with this purchase.

Mine came with some rough edges that needed filing and the action was pretty stiff out of the box. After some break-in time it's gotten better but expected more for a brand new rifle. The folding mechanism works well at least.

This isn't meant to be a precision rifle and it doesn't pretend to be. It's a compact, reliable carbine that's perfect for plinking and close-range work. The magazine compatibility with my existing Glock mags sold me on it. Setup and breakdown is quick and easy.
