Review summary

Gaia Sagrada Retreat Center receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, who describe their experiences as transformative and life-changing. Reviewers consistently praise the loving atmosphere, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the professionalism of the staff, highlighting the supportive environment for healing and spiritual journeys. Many express gratitude for the well-organized Ayahuasca and San Pedro ceremonies, noting the unique and personal nature of each experience. However, a few reviews mention that the retreat did not meet their expectations, with one individual feeling that it lacked even a semblance of what they anticipated. Despite this minor criticism, the majority of participants regard Gaia Sagrada as a magical place that fosters deep personal growth and connection.

My best experience in life

Gaia Sagrada is a fantastic retreat center, I got even more out of the experience than I ever expected! Christine, Namur, Santiago, Marlene, Veronica and the rest of the shamans are one of the best people I’ve ever met and you will feel 100% safe in their hands. They take extra care to make sure you’re given the correct dosage and check in with you along the way. I loved how we set intentions before each ceremony to help us navigate our journeys. Also, Marlene, Namur and Santiago singing were incredible and genuinely contributed to the ayahuasca experience. The workshops with the beautiful volunteers were a great addition to the experience. The food was delicious (Carol is amazing), and the grounds and accommodations were great. I was at ease as soon as I got there. The retreat brought me inner peace, and it feels like I experienced years of therapy in just twelve days. I came away with some resolutions and things I didn’t think I’d be able to let go and it made me a better person overall. Last but not least, I also came away with some new friends. If you’re considering an ayahuasca retreat, I highly recommend Gaia Sagrada!

Absolutely phenomenal experience

Absolutely phenomenal experience. I went to the retreat for healing. I had an intention in mind. What I left with was far beyond what I could have imagined. It genuinely surprised me. We tend to imagine we know what our problems are. From the solution, however, the problem is completely irrelevant. This is what I know now, all thanks to the healing experienced at this place. Gaia demonstrated and provided that which we, as westerners, are missing. Community, connection, altruism, selflessness, and unity. I really didn't understand what these things meant. As words, they are quite nebulous. Gaia Sagrada gave birth to these concepts, which allowed me to move from an intellectual to heart centered experience. Love is an action, and that's what's being demonstrated here. If you're reading this and on the fence, allow my words to be the encouragement you need to take the leap. It's worth it. You deserve it.

Becoming unshackled

We were picked up from the airport, driven to our location and the hospitality began... we were greeted like long lost family members. Hugs, handshakes, bowing and lovely words of welcome from friendly inviting faces. Even the dogs were there, smiling and wagging. Next we were given keys to our room, directions to get there, and assistance with our luggage. The rooms were warm with a solid feel, the beds were made, they smelled fresh and an excess of spare blankets were available in the cupboard. We met for a brief "family" time of introduction in the afternoon and then met with Christine that night after a warm vegetarian dinner, (soup, bread, vegetables, salad, fruit and dessert) for a brief of what to expect at the upcoming ceremonies. Ninety eight percent of us were first timers. I came with no real expectations, just a go with the flow kind of attitude and let's see what happens, other than wanting to get some insight into a recurring (it had become pretty nasty in the preceding year) skin condition that was causing my hands to split open and an itchy rash on various parts of my body. My first meeting with Antay revealed the cause within the first few minutes, and the healing began. AMAZING! The ceremonies for me were reverent, revealing, bonding and healing. I knew I needed some help, some insight, some truth, and that's what I got. A comprehensive reframe of my perception which allowed a flow of some hateful inner turmoil to release and I was breathing with a deep sense of forgiveness and understanding... for myself and those who I regarded as my enemy. Looking across the fire and talking with Christine, with my newly acquired family all around me, is a time I will always remember. Truth revealed, rage and hatred released. What to say, maybe unshackled!?! I have in the past called myself a "seeker of the truth". I have changed that now to "I am a finder of the truth" and of course there is much more to discover. Let the journey continue! Heartfelt thanks to all involved!

Sacred Earth / Sacred Everything

I am aged 52, and was one of approximately half a dozen "elders" in our group of around 26 participants for a 7 day retreat. I attended with my 64 year old partner and we both participated in all available ceremonies. Everything about this location, the accommodation, meals, volunteers, staff, Shamans, and ceremonies is indeed sacred. Here you may experience, as I did, an abundance of everything... including food, safety, integrity, support, love, healing, warmth, and comfort. Following almost two decades of study and doctorate degree in philosophy, specialising in metaphysics and humanistic science, my participation supported a deeper integration of body, mind, and spirit. Prior to attending, I was feeling like I no longer knew my place in this tumultuous and rapidly changing world. However, following my participation I have a new sense of wholeness, clarity of purpose, and direction. As a direct result of a ceremony and divine intervention by founder and Sharman, Christine Breese, I witnessed my partner heal completely from a very severe skin condition that was wreaking havoc to approx. 50% of his body. It was also an honour to be the sacred witness to so many others reclaiming their physical, mental, and emotional faculties; remembering their true nature; experiencing deep forgiveness towards self and others; and falling in love with Life all over again. My immense gratitude, connection, and recommendations for Gaia Sagrada, and all involved, runs deep. Wishing you blessings always and all ways!

Life changing

It’s hard to put into words the experience I had at Gaia. But for those who want to heal with Ayahuasca and San Pedro and is looking for safe, beautiful, cozy, professional, divine retreat centre, Gaia is where you need to go. I didn’t want to leave and I’m already planning on being back next year. Safety was the biggest thing for me looking for a retreat and I couldn’t have ended up at a better place. I had some pretty intense healing ceremonies with the plant medicines and the shamans and volunteers were always so professional and caring, always looking after me and everyone else and helping in the best way possible. They are so in tune with everyone and everything that’s happening it’s absolutely incredible. Even going through hell I felt so safe in their care. The love I felt for everyone at this place is beyond. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful, there’s always a cosy fire to gather around at night, the food is amazing and offered in plenty. There’s always the option of hanging with the group or lots of space to just enjoy time by yourself. Simply just being at Gaia without medicine would be healing. This place is magic. If you read this far, then you need look no further, Gaia is calling you <3

Deep healing, magical place

There is some strong energetic healing going on at this place. Many of us used the word “magical”. Not in the cheesy kind of way, but the kind of magic you spend your whole life searching for. You get in touch with your soul at Gaia Sagrada. The best way I can describe this place is it chooses you. If you’re meant to come here, it will happen. If you are chosen and life works out where you are able to come, your life will be changed forever. Ayahuasca taught me a lot about myself but it was the San Pedro that changed me. All of the shamans were brilliant and Christine has the most unique, beautiful soul. I fell in love with absolutely every single person I met there and my spiritual partner and I intend to put this place on the map. Not only are you doing some deep healing but you are surrounded by love. Everyone there is full of love yes, but the cows and the dogs and the trees and the fresh air. I have never felt so in touch with Mother Earth. Not to mention, you are being fed real soul food by Carol the chef! It’s delicious seriously!!!! I’m so grateful for Christine and her words of wisdom and for creating the safest space. I’m grateful for the volunteers and shamans. I’m grateful for those who came and healed along side of me. Thank you Gaia Sagrada for everything.

Life Changing

My experience at Gaia Sagrada. I attended the 12 day retreat and I am so glad I made the decision to go. I originally went because I was feeling stuck and insecure of myself. I’ve had so many synchronicities prior to going to Gaia that I felt as if I was going mad. But through my experience here, I’ve gained so much confidence in my journey and have met amazing people along the way. If you’ve been getting the call from ayahuasca and are looking to do deeper into your spiritual journey, you will not be disappointed in Gaia Sagrada. I’d like to also add that the food was amazing and the staff was welcoming and supportive of healing journey.

Gaia Sagrada changed my life

Gaia Sagrada changed my life. I truly thought I had years of recovery ahead of me following a traumatic event that left me really broken, but it's been over a month since I left Gaia and I can honestly say I'm a changed person. I have my happiness back. I feel whole again. It wasn't easy - ayahusaca can be tough - but I felt completely surrounded by love, support and compassion at Gaia. They hold space for everyone's needs and whatever their healing journey looks like. The shamans were incredibly talented and cared about each participant individually (not to mention they have just beautiful souls), the staff was wonderful and I have new friends in several of them. I just absolutely can't say enough about this place. The beauty of the healing they offer brings me to tears.

I loved my stay at Gaia Sagrada

I loved my stay at Gaia Sagrada. What a magical place with the most wonderful shamans and volunteers. The way the facilities and the programme are built are just spot on and support the experience perfectly. And what an experience it was! Extremely powerful and healing. I will remember it forever as one of the most transformative weeks of my life. I felt very safe and supported the whole time. I would recommend Gaia Sagrada to everyone. Their work is so important in making the world a better place. Thank you with all my heart!

Just loved being at Gaia Sagrada

Just loved being at Gaia Sagrada. I have been to a few retreat centers for ayahuasca and I have to say, by far, Gaia Sagrada did it better than every one I've ever been to. I won't mention names but I have been to some of the famous ones in Costa Rica and Peru. Gaia Sagrada is setting the standard for how these retreats should be run. The staff was great! They were there for every possible need a guest had, including me, and they were full of smiles and hugs for anyone who wanted one! Food was great, unlimited, never hungry, had snacks in the kitchen we could access any time we want between meals. Didn't know a vegetarian cuisine could be so good. I'm a meat eater but didn't miss the meat at all. The shamans were terrific, and the medicine was very strong. I got what I came for. Big transitions happening in my life now. This is by far the strongest medicine at any center I've had. The shamans were intelligent and kind, masterful. It was a monumental experience in my life!

A Transcenedant Journey Through Time, Matter, and Space.

I First came to the retreat with the world on my back a mountainfull of problems that I never thought could be helped. But I had visions of the shamans prior to arriving at the retreat and I had a good feeling I was in the right place. The stars guided me to the mountain and my journey was full of joy. I arrived in Quito were I was meet with friendly Ecuadorian natives. I took a plane to Cuenca where I was picked up by taxi at the airport and stayed in grand columbia in a sweat little hotel called Hotel Las Americas in the center of the city it was busy but the street I was staying on was a few blocks for the city square and was quite at night I slept like a baby. After my 10 day stay in Cuenca before the retreat as I arrived that early out of a hastly need to get the Cuenca. After I arrived at the retreat I was greated with open arms everyone was loving and kind and we felt like friends immediately. I was shown to my room which was luxury a twinbed bunkbed and some beautiful blankets and pillows to sleep on. I was in turmoil but my character and nerve was good so the first day I meet with Salvador for a cleansing. I was taking aback by the man immediately and felt very safe he cleansed my body with plants and afterwards I felt so good I thought I might not even need the ayahuasca but I came for a deep healing so I decided I would drink the medicine and stay for ceremonies.

Did not have even a semblance of an 'experience'.

Did not have even a semblance of an 'experience' of any kind. The ceremonies turned into endurance contests...WAY TOOOO LONG!!! Need to be more generous with 'Mother Ayahuasca'. Would have been a great setting to do some 'Magic Mushrooms' Jack Hall

Great staff, great shamans, and beautiful land!

Amazing and beautiful place! Great staff, great shamans, and beautiful land. Being able to experience San Pedro ceremonies in addition to the Ayahuasca ceremonies was very beneficial. I love that the owner's (Christine) heart is in the right place and she operates it as a non-profit and offers the best prices around. If this place appeals to you then I would wholeheartedly recommend attending a retreat there! I'm very grateful for my experience there. :-)
