Review summary

G5 Entertainment faces significant criticism from its users, with a staggering 95% of reviews rating the company negatively. While some customers express a fondness for the games, noting they can be fun, the overwhelming sentiment highlights severe issues with customer service and game functionality. Many players report frequent freezing and crashing, particularly after updates, leading to frustration and loss of interest. Additionally, the aggressive push for in-game purchases disrupts the gaming experience, with users feeling bombarded by ads and prompts to buy gems. Complaints about the lack of effective customer support are rampant, with players feeling ignored and unable to resolve their issues.

Love this site

I've ordered a few things from here and never a single problem. Communication is good and trainers are great. Delivery times is not too bad either.

Poor customer service; Disturbing images

G5's frequent ads portray a baby being drowned, a very small child alone in the rain at night and other disturbing images. I contacted G5 and, after several A1 responses, received an email stating I would hear back from a live person. No email, and since that time it appears I've been put on a loop to only view the ad with the baby drowning.

Losing players daily due to inadequacies and poor customer service

I have been playing Jewels of Rome and Mahjong Sheriff. Due to constant problems after updates; and now it is just a usual daily occurrence in their games. I contacted the so called customer service numerous times, which has offered no assistance at all; common sense would help here as the person would realize that if the game freezes, you can't very well take a screen shot, DUH. It does not seem that these people hold their customers in any regard, now they are not even replying to emails. I don't recommend any of these games to those truly interested in gaming, you will be severely disappointed in the games and the service. No wonder they have to recruit and advertise for players on a constant basis. I would encourage escalation to the corporate office if you can find one. 👎

Very sad to say

Very sad to say. I use to love the game. But now not so much. After playing each (one) scene there is either a pop up or an ad!! This is way to much!! I can see after playing maybe 6 or 7 scenes but after every scene!! Not good at all G5!! You have lost many players because of this. If I wanted to see all these ads all I have to do is turn on YouTube TV!! Really! It is a game not an ad festival. You can not enjoy it any longer. So it was uninstalled.

Rediculously difficult on purpose.

I tried playing many of their games for about 5 years now, and they are all the same...Too Hard to even be partially enjoyable. All of their games are no different than slot machines in Las Vegas or elsewhere: If you want to play you have to keep paying (a lot). If you aren't paying they don't want you on their servers either. So the games frustrate you with difficulty so you will leave the server. G5 is not the only gaming company that uses this format. Most of them do. It's nice programming and graphics but that's where it ends.

Constant problems after updates

I have been playing Jewels of Rome since 2021. Due to constant problems after updates, I created another profile (as a new player) and played on both profiles at the same time. A year ago I found out that I was removed from the Top Players, why? Both profiles had the same levels, the same avatars, similar names. To my complaint, I received a response that it was due to suspicious activities of my profiles. To repeated arguments and protests, I have not received a response to this day. Convinced that the problem is two similar profiles, I suggested that I cancel one profile, how?, I also did not receive a response. With the update in the new year 2025, G5 brought us a "Gift", many players dropped to the beginning of the game, it's not the first time, the last time it happened was in September 2024. They solved the problem with another update, but the damaged players remained at level 1. I can't imagine the anger and frustration these players are experiencing, especially those who invest money in their inventory. I don't recommend this game to those who don't have strong nerves and a rich account! 👎

Don't hope to get anything resolved

I have been in contact with this group for over a week on a purchase that did not go thru. There has been copious message from me to no avail. The company just changes the complaint number and instructs me to do what I have already done. I have tried to find out what they want to offer instead of my refund, but they just give vague answers. I want resolution!

G5 games are *censored*

Let' start buy the good things. It's free to play. You don't need to pay. Paying gives you an edge, helps progressing further, but that's about. The bad things. - "Watch a video" for one ruby. Level 122 and it means I played the games for like 2 years. Clicking = "Sorry, no video is available at that moment". I only play Sherlock Holmes Match 3 from G5, because I'm a casual player and it's my favorite game among them. The game is great. Please fix the bug. Microsoft, hello ? Do you need more coders ? Expert in Unity and .NET framework. You know how to hit me up. But I know you won't, will you ? I'll rate the game 4.5 stars when all the bugs will be fixed. Until then, a bug-full unfinished student project doesn't serve higher than a generous 2. For .Net coders : GDI+ still lies to us - the return format is BGR, NOT RG Hope this helps ! Keep your unsafe code safe !

G5 has ZERO Consideration for its Players

G5 made a unilateral decision to remove the event picture from the game once the event’s duration ended. After an event concludes, the game updates with a new event picture, and the previous one becomes a tabletop scene for continued play. This time, G5 chose not to follow that process, leaving players disappointed, as they were expecting to continue playing the event in its new format. They showed no consideration for players who invested hours progressing through the picture to reach higher levels, such as the Grand Magister. Even worse, they displayed complete disregard for those who spent money on the event to advance further. If G5 isn’t going to honor the players' efforts or purchases, perhaps they should offer refunds to those affected, as it’s clear they don’t value their community’s time or investment.

STAY AWAY FROM G5 GAMES!

I had been playing a few G5 games for about a year and suddenly they started telling me I have no internet access which was absolutely ridiculous. Then they started locking up my computer and affecting other programs. Way too many emails with their customer service department has led me to the conclusion they have no idea what they are doing.

This game takes over your computer and you cannot do anything. I was unable to find where to quit the game and luckily I had a 2nd browser I could go to Ask HOW DO I CLOSE A GAME ON MY COMPUTER WHICH TOOK OVER MY COMPUTER. THERE WAS NO PLACE TO EXIT AND IT IGNORED ME TRYING TO HIT THE SETTINGS ICON. HORRIBLE GAME. Have to give away all your personal information and join this blank to leave a review. I will be blocking anything that comes to me.

No customer service

I am not surprised with the reviews of customers using the g5 games. My situation is a bit different. Although I never made any purchases when prompted , my issues were when I started getting to a higher level of the game, it just stopped working. I reloaded the game under a different profile and played for about a year getting into another high level. Once again the game stopped working. I requested technical help. 6 months went by, no change. Numerous messages were exchanged for me to be patient and that they were working on the issue. It was just lip service nothing more. No more G5 games for me. And I would strongly recommend that other users never buy anything from the G5 group. Don't waste your money.

I'll keep this brief because I have…

I'll keep this brief because I have never actually purchased from this company, the reason? their advert placements on Youtube and Microsoft games always have the volume set at maximum, I believe that this is potentially harmful particularly for those using headphones or earbuds. It's not a particularly good selling strategy, at least not for me.

The games are extremely difficult to…figure out the stories.

The games are extremely difficult to figure out exactly how to play it. And they bombard you to spend money on 'gems' or whatever to help you further your game play. But why would you do that, when you don't even know how to play their games completely. Also, if you make a comment on social media about their being thieves, they will immediately block you. If a company is honest and has great customer service, why would they block you? Stay away of this company. It's not free. Thankfully, I have not spent any money nor will I EVER spend one penny with them. They are fraudsters and thieves.

The game that test all of your patience..

So you play this game and you play it hard. You spend a lot of money on it. The programmers do not help you when you text them. They always say oh get a screenshot or How many did you have when they steal your stuff that you've earned in their game!!! And then rarely very rarely give some of it back to you The programmers on this game don't care at all. Especially if you spent money. They'll find any way to make you spend more and that takes the fun out of their games. Oh, and the extra bonuses that you click on that are supposed to help you find things in their game don't work at all so you're wasting your time. As for when does this happen? For the past 5 years that I've been playing, my Kindle will stop working. I'll ask them to reinstate my game. Nope I have to start all over. That's happened 3, maybe four times; and as for giving money back, yeah good luck. They give you some sometimes but not all the time. And you better have a very detailed record of it They take the fun out of all their games by doing this.

This used to be such an enjoyable game…Listen to the players

This used to be such an enjoyable game and now it's all about the mighty dollar. I've been a player of Hidden City: Hidden Object Adventure since it's inception and witnessed the numerous changes that have really destroyed the enjoyment of playing. In the past few months I've had my game reset 4 times and even though I gave my progress stats (I keep a log before I finish playing) it never goes back to where it should be. Another issue is the constant barrage of ads, in a survey (not that they ever listen to the players) I suggested an icon for daily/weekly specials and if players want to purchase then they can click on that themselves instead. It's annoying when you're using hard earned timed boosters and your game disappears when g5 open a browser hoping you'll download the game just advertised. They also send game invites on behalf of players, which in my opinion, is a breach of privacy. Not fun getting abuse from a player who clearly states in their banner "No Game Invites" and me having to explain to them that I didn't send the invite, blame g5 for that. They are making the game more expensive by getting the players to use more of their resources, tools etc by nuance & muting of the colours making it very difficult to distinguish between objects, moving the item list from the side to the bottom of screen therefore unable to view scene as a whole when using compass tool. Mini-games such as Gemstone Vault cannot be accomplished now without using heaps of tools. There are so many broken issues with this game now that should be fixed before introducing any new 'skills' to the game. The current Order's Chest lost horseshoes, meaning club members were ripped off, Gemstone Vault kicked players out of the game after the 3rd level and still numerous players whose Results board still show no progress. I have spent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on this game, I do have 2 accounts, but no more. I really don't know why g5 bother to send out surveys to the players when nothing we say or suggest is warranted for change. The biggest message is, 'If it ain't broke then don't try to fix it' & fix what's broken first!! I could go on and on about numerous other issues but it's like flogging a dead horse, all they want is your money but hey if you have hundreds to throw away and get nothing but frustration in return, then this is the game for you!

Warning: Don't spend any money! Appalling service

I could write an essay about this company but won't. Truly dreadful. Appalling customer service up to and including its CEO Vlad who I appealed to and he eventually completely ignored. Try to avoid the very unpleasant Anna in customer "service" - why she is in a service industry is beyond me. They will not acknowledge anything you say. You will be talking to a brick wall. On the rare occasions that they deal with anything, they will NOT compensate you properly (even when they admit that there is an issue), tell lies, defend all the endless glitches that occur. You'll waste energy, tokens, endless things won't work. You will waste endless weeks trying to build up the things you need and have it all taken away. it's a shame as Hidden Journey is a good game. Do not, repeat, do not spend money on the game - much of it will go down the drain

Nott a pleasant company to get decent customer service from! Be warned!

Have been playing multiple games from this company online (Sherlock, Jewels of the Wild West, Jewls of Rome, Jewlels of Egypt) for ages and as I became more engrossed in the games I started making purchases of "jewels" to speed up my gameplay. However, last year, having beeing playing for about two years, I found something disturbing on my bank balance: even though I had approved the purchases (via the Microsoft Store) in the Euro currency, about 22 transactions had shown up in my bank account in GB£ with the necessary currency fee being charged by my bank. (I only noticed this some time later when G5E started offering inducements to make these purchases directly with them as opposed to via a third-party (Microsoft Store) and when I DID make a trial purchase the G%E site offered the transaction ONLY in either US$ or GB£, which didn't suit me at all!) I checked with Microsoft and confirmed that the transaction authorised by me had been in Euro. I even accessed my purchase history. All of this confirmed that I had selected Euro purchases but somehow this meant GB£ deductions from my bank account + the survice charge. I contacted G5E and after NUMEROUS requests to start my complaint from scratch (I STRONGLY believe the primary customer service response I had with a "Victoria" was in fgact a "bot" which used this tactic to dissuade people from processing any real complaint), I eventually got my message through, only to be told that they were not responsible...Almost a year after I started! Then I stumbled accross a website where I found another customer making the same complaint....refusal to grasp the nature of the complaint, constatntly restarting the complaint procedure, closing the complaint prematurely over and over, eventually resulting in the complainant stopping and giving up. So, I contacted them again, provided receipts from my bank account, showed my purchase history from Microsoft Store, all of which pointed to G5E deceptively, in my opinion, chosing to demand the fees via GB£ (initially when I contactyed them, they DID seem to have some difficulty in understanding that I was in the Republic of Ireland not the UK!). Eventually, about 1 month ago after demanding that this complaint be addressed to a manager or supervisor within the company, I got a "It's your fault for not noticing the prioces were in GB£ and we are not responsible...sorry...go away now!" type of answer. What REALLY irritates me is that the amount that I am out of pcket is only about Eur30 or so, and the amount of purchases I made was easily in the hundreds of Euros - they could have been the bigger poarty here and just agreed to make an ex gratia payment. But no! I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND not making pourchases with this company as, since my problems have arisen, I have found dozens if not hundreds of dissatisfied customers, who received no satisfaction and who have a very bad taste left in their mouths from dealing with VERY UNHELPFUL customer services agents and/or bots.
