Just had my front window fitted by David and Ian they arrived nice and early, were very quick and efficient. Tidied up when they finished all in all a good job done

The initial consultation was good and flexible pricing. The fitting went smoothly and hassle free and they look great. The main reason I got them done was because my old ones were old and it was cold and there was lots of condensation, these are no longer problems so going to save a fair bit on heating a dehumidifiers. The 'aftercare' sales was quite pushy but nothing a CRM system wouldn't fix and the people are generally very nice.

We have windows fitted a month ago and service we received is a top level from start to finish . Our new windows are great quality and installation was so quick and painless . Highly recommend.

Re FIRST HOME IMPROVEMENTS . They arrived when they said they would , they were polite and friendly , and they did a very good job of replacing the balcony doors . We could feel the difference throughout the cold weather ! No hesitation in recommending them !

Avoid First Home Improvements at all costs. This company is nothing but a scam from start to finish. If you like being ripped off, lied to, and left with drafty, defective windows, then sure go ahead. But if you want quality work and decent customer service, stay far away. The sales process is a complete joke. They trap you in a 3–4-hour interrogation, starting with a ridiculously high price - literally thousands more than the job is worth - then pretend they’re giving you a special deal with fake discounts. This is their Sales Pitch. Even after the so-called discount, you’re still overpaying by 50% or more. They’ll pressure you to sign on the spot, claiming the price is only valid today – Old School Scams. Say no, at least wait as they’ll call you the next day with an even better offer. Never sign while they’re in your home. And their claims? They say they’re manufacturers -they’re not. They say their windows are A+ rated – what a JOKE. Then comes the installation disaster. Everything must be in writing!! If not? they’ll pretend it wasn’t been offered. Even basic things like air vents drilled by professionals need to be listed in the contract, otherwise, they’ll just drill them on-site like a bunch of amateurs. Make sure the glass type they are using and specify in the contract to add insulation like expanding foam. If not, they don’t bother - Instead of using proper expandable foam, they will slap on silicone and cover gaps with super-glued trims. Expect drafts, damp, mold, and cracks within months - the only repair they will do - they will cover everything with silicone. Their windows use undersized cheap Q-lon gaskets, a sponge-like material that lets wind and cold air straight through. The result? Constant drafts through the beading area. In the worse case if you decide to buy from them: DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING STRAIGHT AWAY once they’ve finished the job. Take the time to properly check everything. Look for scratches, cracks, poor sealing, and gaps in the beading—because that’s where the drafts come in. The installers will try to rush you, drag you to their van, and get you to sign, claiming any issues will be "sorted later." That’s a lie. Once you’ve paid, you’re screwed!! And if you think customer service will help, think again. When you complain, they’ll send some installation manager who barely checks anything and just asks, "What do you want us to do?" 13 visits later and still the same issues. If they send an independent inspector, they’ll push for RISA Ltd. - do not accept this. They hire RISA only to do visual inspections, which means they won’t find missing insulation, air gaps, or structural defects. FHI knows this loophole and uses it to dodge responsibility. Once that report is done, they’ll ignore everything else and pretend the problem doesn’t exist. And if you think that’s bad, wait until you leave a bad review. They don’t just ignore complaints—they mock you publicly. When I called them out, they responded by calling me a storyteller, using monkey emojis, and trying to make me look like the problem - shifting. A professional company? Not even close. If you’re wondering how they get so many good reviews, just check Trustpilot, Google, Facebook, and YouTube. Notice how many suspiciously perfect reviews list the full names of salespeople and installers? Who does that? If you’re getting scammed, contact your finance provider ASAP and stop payments until they sort it out. You can also file a Section 75 claim if you paid by credit or finance. Another option is to take them to small claims court - because trust me, they will fight harder to cover up their mistakes than to fix them. They know their windows are rubbish and can’t actually fix the drafts coming through the beads, so instead, they just smash silicone on the beading corners to try and cover it up. As for installation issues? They won’t bother, whether it’s water ingress, gaps, or poor sealing. None of it matters to them as long as they can pass Building Regulations. And don’t waste your time with their Head of Compliance. His job isn’t to help you - it’s to make you give up and cover their wrongdoings. Even with clear evidence - photos of shoddy workmanship, videos of drafts blowing out a candle, proof of damage caused by their installers—he ignored it. Instead, I got some legal nonsense like, "Without Prejudice – matter resolved, and no further issues remain extant." Meanwhile, the drafts, damage, gaps, damp, and mold are still there. This company doesn’t stand by its work. They will fight harder to deny responsibility than to actually provide a decent product. PS: Now I have to pay for a glazing specialist report just to get them to attend any issues basically cancelling my 12y warranty and threatened me with legal nonsense to shut my mouth in public reviews. Whilst the sales visit was overly long, the eventual price after haggling, was satisfactory. The fitting was done in good time. The fitter Iulian Mindru worked quickly and quietly, keeping disruption to a minimum and cleaning up completely afterwards.

Had windows replaced by First Home Improvements, Everything went okay until fitters damaged two of my outdoor lightings, have been chasing this up, multiple calls and emails but just a dead end. A so called manager agreed to reimburse but never heard back anything... nearly one year and still nothing. Had to pay an electrician to rewire the lighting wiring as water ingress damaged over time and had to fork out for some replacement lighting fixtures out my own pocket.... Keep receiving annoying calls from sales if i want anything else at a discounted rate as i have been selected.... Will be escalating this further to ensure my damage is reimbursed

My experience has been most positive. The fitters were excellent, professional, friendly and their work was the best.

Very reliable turned up exactly when they said they would. All the staff that did our three jobs were very good, polite, never made a mess. I would recommend First Home Improvements to everyone

Had fantastic service from start to finish. The lads that sold us the door were polite and helped get us the best deal (although make sure to keep 4 hours free! They were here until 7pm, we didn't realise it would take so long) One downside was that I dont really enjoy the sales tatics of calling the manager to get a lower cost, having worked in sales myself, but that is what it is. The first price is extortionate and I hope no one pays that. The ssleman did work with us to get to a price we were happy paying however, which seemed impossible at first. We eventually selected a beautiful door and my daughter (2!) Picked the glass, I love that the sale team got her involved. On to the door! What BRILLIANT service from Mike Taylor, with a tricky door (our house is over 100 years old and not easy to install!) As well as unexpected road works on our street, which meant getting on to our drive was a task in itself. Nothing was too much trouble. He has done a fantasic job, was kind, polite and cleaned up after himself, even plastered the two corners! He also said to wait until my partner was home to sign off on the work, and if we were unhappy with anything to get back in touch, shows he is confident in his work. He was also brilliant with our toddler who was very intrested in what was going on and rescued our indoor cat who managed to escape! Cant thank the team enough for such great service, my two neighbours have already asked for details as our door looks so brilliant! Its noticeablly warmer and pur door no longer whilstles!! Had new windows and doors installed in January, the team installing them were fantastic, really polite, professional & tidy. Really happy with the results and the quality of the product. Smooth process throughout from being quoted to installation and was kept up to date throughout

Completely agree with the 1 star reviews. We wanted to get a quote for 3 new windows and a new front door. Person was in our house for almost 3 hours, only about 5 minutes of that was actually spend measuring and looking at the windows. The rest was giving us a weird sales pitch about the history of the company and why we should go with them. Price given was also ridiculous, almost 11k for 3 windows and a door. Avoid contacting this company until you want to waste a day

Guys who came to fit were brilliant, friendly and approachable and did a great job. The only downside was we were advised a cost by the salesman and once the work was completed noticed it has increased by a considerable amount!
