The Government Grant is a great idea, but if the Installer doesn't do their job properly you are in a pickle! The Installer was given one day to complete their job: Install a new boiler, fit vents to windows, fit a fan in both the kitchen and bathroom, and lag the loft. Different teams doing different jobs. They were all friendly and adapted their working so I could take care of my Mum (82 with mild Dementia). The day didn't start too well. They arrived at approximately 11am; I had a 90 minute journey to get to Mum's and I managed to get there by 8am. I really thought they'd be with us by 9am, at the latest. Once they were with us they worked really well. They took a break at about 2.30pm saying they needed some bits to do their job. Turns out it was ice creams. They reappeared about 4pm. The Boiler team then seemed to be having problems. A leak developed which took time to fix. Then later on there were a number of whispered discussions. The team were obviously concerned but were not willing to share their concerns. They eventually left at gone midnight! I'd suggested, much earlier in the evening, they return the next day but was told they couldn't as they had another job to go to. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous, my Mum is in her eighties!! She would normally have gone to bed by 10pm. Anyhow, they left. They'd told me they had a drive of at least 90 minutes and they all looked tired. I too had a journey of similar length, time wise, but needed to get Mum ready for bed and settled before I could leave her. The mess the guys left was unbelievable. I had been told, in the morning, nothing needed moving. Really?! Yes, I was reassured they would keep the area clean. Well, they didn't put dust sheets anywhere. The hall carpet and kitchen floor were covered in the dirt you would attribute to a major renovation. Absolutely nothing had been protected in the kitchen so the brick and plaster (pieces and dust) was everywhere. I use crutches for walking and was exhausted, but I had to clean up enough to make it safe for Mum to walk and to get drinks and food safely overnight. The following morning, I was back down with her, so the place could be cleaned properly. Thankfully we had some help. The job was done on Tuesday. Thankfully the guy in charge had written his mobile phone number down. On Sunday I had to message him. The boiler pressure had dropped to 0.6 and the refill lever wasn't under the boiler, as it should have been. He advised it was in the loft!! He'd seen both Mum and I were incapable of going in the loft! Thankfully my Husband was with ne. He went up there. After that the boiler need topping up every few days! I contacted the installer. All the right things were said on the phone but very little action was taken The installation company tried to blame the manufacturer. The manufacturer sent someone out. He checked the boiler which was fine. He did, however, see a problem above it. A pipe connection had not been tightened up during installation. He tightened it as best he could and advised the installers needed to come back. I am still coping with this issue! I have totally given up on the Installer. My Mum, or I, are going to have to pay someone to come in before Winter sets in. Otherwise it'll be back to topping up the boiler every two days! Good luck to anyone going through this process. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I recommend the government grant through Eco Energy Services. However, although I am pleased with the new boiler and the grant paying for it, the workmen were on the whole clean and tidy, but they did damage my property, foot through the ceiling which took a while to be repaired, it is not a great repair but being 80 and disabled, I didn't want the worry of more people in my home
The grant was very useful, as my boiler had died, in winter, and I could not afford a new one.
Here's a suggested message: "I highly recommend the government grant / .It's a fantastic opportunity to make your home more energy-efficient and save on bills. Your support means a lot. Thanks for being part of Eco Energy Services!
Everything was done sooner than what I was told to expect, happy with the whole service.
I would highly recommend a boiler grant with Eco Energy Services Ltd. To be honest I was very wary and thought it was a scam. It's NOT. Very professional from start to finish. Everything completed in less than a week. New boiler and radiators fitted throughout. ( no central heating before) . I didn't have to pay any money whatsoever. Absolutely amazing Katrina Hales
